it's not actually spotting the ball virtually. it is still completely dependent on where the ref puts the ball. the only thing the virtual thing does is put the spot of the ball on the screen in relation to the first down line. it's a farce

He played 16 snaps and is a great blocker by all accounts. All 3 tight ends were on the field for this play and the D may have thought we would run. To send Hawes down the seam and target him was unexpected for the D and worked well.
