  1. Both Greg Roman and Anthony Lynn running Roman's blocking scheme had the Bills #2 in rushing attempts, #1 in rushing yards, #1 in rushing TD's and #1 in yards per rushing attempt. Lynn had more rushing TD's 29 vs 19 and a better YPA 5.3 to 4.8. Still, the 2017 Buffalo Bills are 11th in rushing attempts, 11th in rushing yards, 12th in TD's and 16th in yards per average. This might be mostly the same players all around on offense. Just not the same run blocking scheme or play calls. Dennison might be the OC but Juan Castillo is the run game coordinator and O line coach. For me, the guy that needs replacing is Juan Castillo as he isn't doing good enough in either of his jobs. In other words, he sucks. The Bills need to find their run game really fast to save both the QB from getting killed and defense from being on the field all game...or this season is over.
  2. The problem is that the offense has been starting slow all season and the OC usually scripts 10-15 plays to start the game. Those clearly aren't working very well. The other problem is the rush offense was #1 for the previous two seasons and is now 18th which is close to worst in the league than the best.
  3. Not in my opinion. Taylor played poorly enough in that Saints game to be benched no question. McD didn't bench him for the Charger game right away so it leads me to think he talked it over with his offensive coaches who most likely told him that Peterman was ready. Those are the people that are a joke to me. Dennison has done nothing to improve the passing offense and in actuality, the offense has gotten off to slow starts every game. Those first scripted plays haven't gotten the job done! Then talk about the pass rush on Taylor in that Jets game that was never accounted for by the coaches. They didn't change up the offensive scheme when they saw Taylor had no time in the pocket. Juan Castillo is the run game coordinator and offensive line coach and he is not doing a good enough job with either. The rush offense went from 1st the previous two seasons to 18th this year. Greg Roman was better than either of those two and Anthony Lynn was better than all three. Dennison reminds me of Rex Ryan in that he needs players that fit "his system" rather than putting his players in the best position to make plays while molding the offense around what they do best. If this team is intent on drafting a top rookie QB I sure hope they hire a top OC who can develop him and build a proper line to protect him.
  4. Hey, I was one guy that wanted to see what Peterman could do in a start. The thing is I'm not his OC or any teams OC as I'm just a fan. And yet someone told the HC he was ready to start and he clearly wasn't even close.
  5. This bozo told McD that Peterman was ready and he wasn't even close. Juan Castillo has got to go too! Tyrod doesn't "fit" his scheme kinda like that pro bowl D line didn't fit Rex Ryan's scheme. I'll be happy to see a new offensive coaching staff next year!
  6. Tanking sucks... We know we don't have a franchise QB on the roster or even a decent defense.
  7. NFN but the team needed to see what Peterman could do and now we all know. The thing is, who told McD that Peterman was ready? I think Dennison and Castillo are gone next year.
  8. when it rains...it pours! The Bills making the Chargers fans think their team is playoff bound now.
  9. Amen, brother! As bad as the QB has been the last three weeks the defense has been worse! And yes, even 5 INT's worse.
  10. Next year Cousins, Brees, and Bradford. Alex Smith might be available too.
  11. Maybe Peterman can play DB...someone has to
  12. Hey now, its only 37-7 against the lowly Chargers. Imagine what Brady will do...
  13. W00T 5 INT's ...TANK STEADY!
  14. Geez, what's the final score gonna look like? 68-10?
  15. Now since that Jets game, every team that plays Buffalo now will look like the new SB Champs.
  16. Oh yeah, Dennison had Peterman ready to start. Tyrod not so bad looking now in Dennison's crap offense.
  17. Just think if you started Peterman in fantasy he is only -7
  18. I think we are both hoping Peterman does well and remains the starter. I just don't have the faith in this offensive coaching staff that you do and really want to see Juan Castillo elsewhere in 2018. As far as Dennison is concerned from what I've seen he didn't do anything to improve Tyrod Taylor and I'm not sure he is the guy the Bills want developing Peterman or even a new rookie next year. EDIT* On the NFL Today Coach Bill Cowher mentioned that the Bills have been slow starters on offense all season and that the first 15 plays are scripted by the teams OC. Which falls right on Dennison to get it done and Cowher mentioned that he might be a problem too.
  19. Really good coaches build their schemes around their players and find ways to help them make plays. Rex Ryan was a "my way or the highway" guy and ruined a great 4-3 scheme. As an example. We all know Tyrod Taylor's somewhat pocket limitations and while he isn't a gunslinger. He certainly is very careful with the ball and you won't get him to throw many INTs. I don't see Tyrod Taylor as the trainwreck you make him out to be. It really remains to be seen if the opposing defenses bring more rushers than blockers if Peterman can beat that rush. I think he can, but we don't know that yet and If left up to the OC to find ways not to get Peterman sacked I think he fails just like he did with Taylor. You come away saying it's all on the QB. I say it's both the OC, run game OC / line coach and the QB. Week 9 Bills @ Jets highlights, It wasn't all Tyrod.
  20. The WCO scheme is basically short underneath passes like an extended handoff and different OC's run their own versions. The Bills were winning with Taylor at QB and were 5-2 up until that Jets game. The Jets ran a version of Rex Ryans "overload Blitz" in which the Jets defense always sent more rushers than blockers and the Bills weren't prepared for it in any way shape or form. Thus a Jets defensive line that hadn't had a sack all season suddenly looking like the greatest line ever with seven sacks. While I agree with you about Taylor's shortcomings in being able to defeat a heavy pass rush. I also think a lot had to do with the lack of line protections with the OC not calling for extra blockers to help protect the QB. How hard would it be to send in extra TE's or even OT's to help block the extra rushers? (Castillo) I kinda doubt the Bills drafted Zay Jones or Peterman thinking that they would be saviors in their first seasons. I think they expected both to eventually become decent players and Peterman a backup. I myself don't think much of Dennison's playcalling or the offense he runs as the passing offense has basically the same stats as last season with Taylor. Anthony Lynn did so much better with the offense and in particular with the run game. ( I realize that Juan Castillo is the run game coordinator and line coach) I can only hope this is Castillo's only season in Buffalo as he really stinks.
  21. I think it's more in the way that Tyrod was hammered so often in that Jets game (7 sacks) that he couldn't get settled against the Saints. In three-quarters of that Saints game Taylor went 9/18 for 56 yards, 1 INT and 2 sacks. a rating of 33.6. More importantly, the Buffalo Bills drive chart in that Saints game went (57 yards-FG)(0 yards PUNT)(15 yards PUNT)(21 yards PUNT)(9 yards PUNT)2nd half(-2 yards INT)(5 yards PUNT)(-6 yards PUNT) Peterman (19 yards DOWNS)(75 yards TD) So, with 4:53 left in the game the Bills put in Peterman he goes 7/10 for 79 yards, one TD with a 126.7 rating Tyrod Taylor hung himself with that horrid performance against the Saints as he had Benjamin open for a TD and missed him. Granted the Saints have a top 10 defense and Taylor was playing like a rookie QB making his first NFL start. From a Buffalo defensive perspective, the Bills were only down 17-3 at the half and Taylor opens the 3rd quarter with an interception which allowed the Saints to score from the Buffalo 3 ( kinda Charles Clays fault as the Taylor pass hit him in the chest and bounced off). 30 points scored in that second half because the defense was on the field all game long. The point being is I doubt the Bills were planning on making this move this soon and it was forced on them by Taylor.
  22. This move was needed! How many times have we all seen Tyrod Taylor go invisible against good teams for most of the game and then when the game is mostly out of control he manages to score in garbage time which makes his overall grade look not so bad. This last game he was benched in the fourth so he had to live with that horrid performance. Having a QB that will push the ball downfield will open up the run game more so they can't run blitz, stack the box or they will get burned. A QB that can get the ball out quickly will help negate the pass rush and take pressure off the lines right side which isn't as good as the left. That Jets game in giving up seven sacks shouldn't happen again even though the Chargers have some good pass rushers. Peterman doesn't need to be an elite QB like Tom Brady as all he needs to do is move the chains and make first downs. This Bills receiver corps was so underutilized and now have a thrower that will get them the ball. I'm excited about the young man and hope he does well in his first start.
  23. Luck might be damaged goods at this point in both mind and body. Besides, coming to Buffalo wouldn't be that much of an improvement in protection for him. Not with that right side as crappy as it is. Draft a QB in 2018 if Peterman doesn't play well.
  24. Taylor is 25th in passing. The Bills are 28th in offense, 30th in passing with Chicago, Baltimore worse. The Bills are currently 17th in rushing, 30th in receiving #1 in the NFL in point differential with a +11. Buffalo is 24th in defensive yards allowed. If Peterman plays well all those stats should change for the better.
