  1. Don Shula forgot what won him SBs (the run game) and jumped on Dan Marino's arm for everything on offense. Buffalo had Thurman Thomas and Miami had no player even close to him as a RB. The Bills ran the ball more than they threw it in those first glorious late '80s and early '90s years. In the current discussion. The Buffalo Bills finally have an OC who knows and understands how to utilize a running attack to help with games. Something this team lacked under Daboll and Dorsey.
  2. The guy took the Buffalo Bills to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor at QB.
  3. My take is old school DC Leslie Frazier and his prevent defense lost that 13-second game. He is no longer employed as an NFL DC afaik. I highly doubt any of those other head coaches rated above him besides Reid could have done the job he has done with this team considering the injuries. As I stated, the ONLY team with more wins in the last five seasons has been KC with arguably the best HC and a great DC with a loaded team. Without Andy Reid I as KC HC, I think the Bills would have been to the SB by now. I do believe that they will get there soon too. Think what you like, McD isn't going anywhere.
  4. Nope, I'd say the guy who is no longer the Buffalo DC is what kept Buffalo from the SB. That and the defensive injuries the last two seasons. McD did a great job this last season calling the defensive plays considering how many defensive players were injured. McD's defense kept them in that AFC playoff game against the Chiefs with a guy playing LBer two weeks removed from off the street and even he was injured during the game and sat out a few series. In the postseason they did not have White, Milano, Rapp, cornerback Rasul Douglas and linebacker Tyrel Dodson for the Steelers game, and against the Chiefs they got Douglas and Dodson back but were still minus White, Milano and Rapp, plus Benford, Spector and linebacker Terrel Bernard. The Bills lost by a missed FG from Bass.
  5. The HC with the most wins over the last five seasons is KC coach Andy Reid and the #2 is McD. The team that has kept Buffalo from the big dance is the Chiefs and if they were in the NFC Buffalo would have been there already IMO.
  6. First, Sammy gained most of his yards in screens in college. The GM at the time just watched the "highlights" film and didn't bother to look deeper at the player. What I got a kick out of is that right after that draft Doug Whaley stated that the team was still looking for a big, tall red zone threat at WR. Just to give an idea of what an idiot that GM was...traded up to the #4 spot for Watkins and passed on LB Khalil Mack, OT Jake Matthews, WR Mike Evans, LB Anthony Barr, TE Eric Ebron, OT Taylor Lewan, WR Odell Beckham Jr, DT Arron Donald, CB Kyle Fuller, LB Ryan Shazier, OG Zack Martin, LB CJ Mosley, CB Ha Ha Clinton Dix, DE Dee Ford, CB Jason Verrett. Who also all went in the first round that year. WRs Devante Adams, Allen Robenson, and Jarvis Landry were all drafted in the second round that draft.
  7. No trades. He might pick up a vet safety or something though. I have to think that Beane did a great job this off-season with all the moves made.
  8. THIS! Bills fans need to realize that as injury-depleted as their defense was for that game they only lost by a missed FG. They had a guy off the street who was going on vacation with his family starting at linebacker...and even he was hurt during the game and needed to sit out a few series. It was just crazy bad luck how that Buffalo defense has been so injury-riddled the last two seasons. I had my doubts about McD before he beat the NE Patriots and until 2020 the McD Bills hadn't beaten them. Then they swept the Patriots in 2020 and literally destroyed them in the playoffs in 2021, 41-17. The only team with more wins over the last five seasons has been the KC Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills have beaten the Chiefs in the regular seasons in 2021-2022-2023. I have faith that McD will get it done.
  9. This! I love what Joe Brady called against the Chiefs and Cowboys with the run game. My take is there will be a learning curve with the new faces. Although a two-TE offense with Josh under center with play action could be the best thing this offense has seen in a while. Knox, Kincade, and Shakir will do fine moving the chains, and that new RB Davis will help punch it in. Good things!
  10. I have two areas of great concern for me in 2024 with that first place schedule. A pass rusher is #1 after losing Leonard Floyd for sure. The primary concern is getting to the QB to disrupt the opponent's offense. I keep going back to that Chiefs-Buccaneers Super Bowl game while watching Mahomes running for his life all game long. What a joy to watch...even if it was Brady as the winning QB! The next area is center as that player usually calls for the offensive protections and is the key to how well that interior performs. The Chiefs drafted Creed Humphrey who has become the very best center in the league while that Chiefs interior doesn't allow anyone close to the QB despite their crappy tackles. Buffalo's center position is a great concern because no matter how well the Buffalo receivers play...it won't matter if Allen can't get them the ball. I realize the Bills have a plan to replace Mitch Morse. I just don't see it yet.
  11. None IMHO. My take is the team goes into OTA's and TC to see what they have and how well the offense works at that point.
  12. It's called coaching and we will see if Bills AC Adam Henry is up to the task to get these men up to the task.
  13. Watch this kid as it was what sold Beane. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=keon+coleman+at+combine Slowest 40 in the group of WRs and fastest of all group 8 at 20 MPH, next-gen stats. He was the single fastest WR of out there catching balls...and he caught every one!
  14. Go back and look at that kid at the combine! Beane was happy he ran a 4.61 because he knew it would drop his stock a bit. The kid plays faster than his 40. I can't wait to see him in action. On another note, this team needed to dump Diggs as he was no longer getting it done and his playoff play was terrible the last few years. The Bills have some excellent receivers that will all get involved. Wait and see.
  15. I really liked this draft as Beane filled so many questionable needs. I like all the talent as it looks like some hard-nosed men and some should be competing for jobs right away. Time will tell. Played like a chess master. He really, really wanted that third-round pick and still got the WR they wanted.
  16. Also, Bills fans need to understand that at the end of the last few seasons, the Buffalo defense has suffered numerous injuries. Besides, the Buffalo defensive line was a supposed strong point, and yet against the Chiefs, they only had 2 QB hits from Groot and Lawson, and no sacks. This team needed a purge of older, expensive veterans who were falling on their faces at the end of the season. Diggs was one of them as his targets didn't decline from the first of the season to the second half, but his production fell off big time. Plus, he would turn nearly invisible in the playoffs. In my view, Buffalo had an amazing draft and filled many holes with some very talented players. So the team didn't draft the guy most Bills fans wanted at WR. How about we wait and see what this team looks like in preseason? Relax and have faith in the guy who found and drafted QB Josh Allen.
  17. Yep, he is talking about an NFL head coach who has the 2nd most wins over the last five seasons. The #1 guy is Andy Reid for the KC Chiefs. So, consider the source.
  18. WR Michael Thomas is still out there as a FA and I wonder what it would take to get him to Buffalo or if he is healthy enough to last a season. If he can stay healthy he could make the whole offense more explosive.
  19. No, it won't! This team has gotten close to an SB but no cigar mostly because the aged veterans fell off the truck at the end of the season. Diggs in particular because he saw the same amount of targets and did much less with them than he has done in the past. In the playoffs, the guy has gone invisible for the last few years. Against the Chiefs Diggs, had 8 targets with 3 receptions for 21 yards. Does that look like #1 WR numbers with an average salary of 24 mill per? Gabe Davis was the 49th-best WR in the NFL in 2023. 17 games and he didn't look like a solid #2 WR. Buffalo needed new younger blood in a lot of areas. The Buffalo defensive line was supposed to be a solid force at the end of the season and yet didn't do anything against the Chiefs 0 sacks and only 2 QB hits, Groot and Lawson. This team needed some younger, less expensive players and the Bills found some in this year's draft. Keon Colman should be a huge upgrade over Gabe Davis and might even look more like that #1 as time goes on. My take is this team takes the division again this season and most of you Bills fans might be surprised at how some of these new players look like.
  20. Some Bills fans need to understand that the old way of signing worn-out free agents is no longer a viable option. So instead Beane is going to the draft instead of the free agent that doesn't get it done at the end of the year. Worn-out retreads aren't always the answer. Beane knows what he doing.
  21. Gabe Davis's replacement?
  22. Diggs was great during the first half of last season and not so good in the second half. He was still getting the majority of the pass targets and wasn't doing as much because of the OC change. With Bubble screens and such. Diggs wasn't happy about the switch from Daboll to Ken Dorsey either at first. However, it's about winning games and not attempting to make one player happy each game. Joe Brady looks like a huge upgrade to Dorsey / Daboll in understanding how to utilize a running attack along with a passing attack. Diggs, I suspect he was about to become a very large disgruntled pain in the ass to the team with his diva-like behavior...again. I highly doubt any other receiver on this roster is going to start yelling at the QB, leave the locker room early to avoid the media, or not show up for team practices. Even with all his baggage I'd think that this FO would have kept him had he shown any ability to make some big plays during the playoffs. When the competition got tougher he disappeared from the playoffs the last three years. That last Chiefs playoff game. 8 targets for 3 receptions for 21 yards...one fumble. He dropped a big play pass too. Josh will be ok. JMO
  23. Allen is probably more upset about losing Center Mitch Morse.
