  1. As long as he brings Willis his water when he comes to the bench (after scoring a TD, no doubt)! Seriously, if Joe Burns starts games at RB this season, the Bills are in serious trouble. We should consider that before talking about trading either RB.
  2. The biggest criticism I have of Tasker was how he wouldn't let go of the fact that the Bills cut Morris, their special teams captain. First, NFL teams cut 3rd string RBs who can't stay healthy all the time. Second, Morris was the special teams captain, but the Bills special teams have played well enough this year to prove that Morris isn't missed. In fact, they were able to shut down Tasker's "new favorite player," on all kick and punt returns without Morris. By mentioning either of those two things, he wouldn't have made the Bills sound like total idiots for cutting "one of their captains." Giving both sides of the issue doesn't equate to homerism, it's good broadcasting.
  3. I would love to see the Phins go winless, and then have the '76 Bucs break out the champagne to celebrate. Of course, the Bucs were only 0-14.
  4. Are you really comparing the early 90s teams with this team? This team is going to run the ball, make first downs, and eat the clock. The 90's teams had a video game offense, running the no-huddle to maximize the number of plays they could run. There's no comparison. And I agree with MDH. The Bills wanted the ball and the wind to make some plays and score points. To their credit, they put up 10 points on their two possesions. Their plan worked.
  5. This had to be Bledsoe's best game for the Bills in pocket. His ball fakes were excellent. The TD to Campbell was set up by ball fake. In the fourth quarter, on the Bills FG drive, Bledsoe completed a pass to Moulds after a pump fake, and a fake handoff. His footwork and pocket awareness were also good. Later in that drive, he avoided two defenders on 3rd and 9 to hit Evans for a 20 yard gain. The shovel passes to McGahee, which converted 3rd downs were also well disguised. He also hit the TE with some key throws. The TD was one. On 2nd and long from inside the 20, he hit Campbell for 7 yards, setting up McGahee's first down run. Later in that drive he hit Campbell over the middle for 16 yards. He came back to Evans after Evans dropped a ball for the 20 yard game. Over the last year and a half, Bledsoe has ignored receivers who dropped easy catches. To me, those were the differences in Bledsoe's performance today over past year or so. --He was extremely good in the pocket --He hit the TE in key situations --He trusted receivers other than Moulds to make plays
  6. I think the defense played a bit too much bend-but-don't break in the first half, especially when Miami was going against the wind. They could have brought a bit more pressure against the run and Fiedler, and could have manned-up against McMichael. The redzone defense in the 2nd half was very good; the Bills have the best red zone defense in the NFL. Anyway, give this defense 20 points, and the Bills will win most their games.
  7. And we should also trade Mark Campbell too. He has 2 TDs in the last two weeks. HIS TRADE VALUE WILL NEVER BE BETTER! We can probably pick up a 1st rounder for him. We should also try to trade Losman, Evans, Moulds, and Henry for 1st rounders. Because everyone knows that to win in the NFL, all you need is 1st round draft picks! ( just kidding)
  8. You probably believed the same thing about Jason Taylor last week.
  9. What does Bledsoe's career win percentage do with today's game? What did the Pats have to do with today's game? We're talking about today's game, not Bledsoe's career. I believe that Losman will be the starter sooner than later, but that doesn't stop me from giving credit where's it's due. Bledsoe played a solid game today, especially on the last two drives of the game. I guess some people just hate Bledsoe more than they like the Bills.
  10. No, we're at the point where the guy made plays when he needed to, threw the go-ahead TD, avoided mistakes, and led the team to the win in the 4th quarter with two long drives. He looked the best he ever has in the pocket, hit the tight end, and worked the shovel pass great with McGahee. All against a 30mph winter wind and the 2nd best defense in the league. The coaches called 31 runs and 28 passes. Bledsoe did a good job in executing the game plan. He did more than just throw tight spirals. Bledsoe played a good game, not a great one, not a perfect one. But if the offense continues to play like it did today, the Bills will win their fair share of games the rest of the way.
  11. Agreed. Stay away from Rice. The best thing about Shaw leaving is that Lee Evans is going to get more playing time.
  12. Well that would certainly put fans in the seats for the rest of this (sold-out) season.
  13. It's hard for a guy with a concussion to use his head. Gotta wonder if Mularkey had a concussion too.
  14. Actually, you have to agree with Bledsoe on this one. Evans burned the Jets blitz for the go-ahead TD late in the 4th quarter. If the D manages to stop the Jets last drive, Henderson would be called on the carpet for that blitz. For the first time in over a year, thanks to Evans, the Bills are able to hurt teams when they blitz. This is something that bears watching over the rest of the season. If Evans can back teams off the blitz, the Oline will quickly improve. The Bills should do everything possible to use Evans early and often against the Dolphins.
  15. Jennings also played that game recovering from a concussion. Maybe he shouldn't have played, but I don't believe he's that bad with a clear head.
  16. No, I don't think so because there are enough 1st year guys who turn into good coaches, even if they need a year or two to get things moving the right way. An experienced coach may limit the growing pains, but in the long run things even out.
  17. You don't think Evans last three games will move defenders out of the box? At some point teams are going to have to put a safety on him, and decide if they want to single cover Moulds.
  18. Not guys like Tice, Mora Jr., Fox, Martz, Edwards, Reid?
  19. I don't know why you label these "problems." I would call them options.
  20. As opposed to going after someone like Steve Spurrier?
  21. For your sake, I hope he doesn't suck!
  22. I've followed this team for just about 30 years. I know that the Ringo teams were followed by the Knox teams and that the Stephenson/Bullough teams were followed by the Levy teams. In the middle of 1985 nobody really knew who Levy was. Nobody knew that Jim Kelly was coming. Things change quickly in this league, and they still can. Nobody knows what the hell is going to happen in 2005. I'm more interested in seeing if Mularkey can turn things around this year.
  23. Why don't we give ourselves the luxury of just worrying about this year right now. There's going to be a lot of churning on the team as the season progresses, and the NFL offseasons have become increasingly unpredictable. Let's just say the Bills will have numerous options in 2005, and talk about how the team is going to manage the Dolphins.
