  1. In the NFL you can't spend an entire month underperforming if your backup is a 1st round draft choice. Henry could have nailed this thing down, but he's made too many mistakes and hasn't delivered in key situations. Leaving two games with injuries hasn't helped his cause. Mularkey's offense uses the running game to wear down defenses. Thanks to McGahee's production in the 4th quarter, the Bills held the ball for 13 minutes. That's why McGahee's performanace was so impressive. I hope Henry comes back healthy and ready to contribute, because Mularkey would have two backs with which he can beat up the defense. But Henry does the team no good if he continues to make drive-ending mistakes. If people are jumping off of Henry's ship, they have good reason to. Bottom line, Henry's game needs to improve.
  2. Evans might have backed them off a bit. After watching him get deep the three previous games, and then burning the defense on the overthrow to start the game, he might have been enough to hold back the blitz. Moulds is also having a great season. It's hard to blitz when you need to double two receivers. Campbell is also catching more passes lately, which will also help to counter the rush.
  3. Yeah, bring back Brandon Spoon. The Bills were much better with him in there.
  4. I think he fits best as the third WR in the slot. Hopefully that's where he'll play the rest of the year.
  5. But compare the Vikes' goaline offense to the Bills', and you'll see why Minnesota has a winning record. Minnesota also has three injured RBs, and a RB on suspension. Culpepper is picking up the slack on the goaline. As far as winning the Super Bowl, I wouldn't count him out. He's still a young guy who's in the process of maturing. He looks like he's growing out of those mistakes you mention.
  6. Norman Einstein? That guy's a genius!
  7. The Bills ended up the game on the quarter inch line, thanks to McGahee's work on the 95 yard drive. They would have won the game without the defensive TD.
  8. Yeah, and in that Jax game, McGahee was the runner in the 4th quarter, as Henry was out with an injury. The Bills ran a bunch of successful plays outside the tackle yesterday, the same plays that Henry looked terrible running against the Jets, which leads me to believe that Henry couldn't run the same plays that McGahee did against the Dolphins. The Bills should use them both, but McGahee's play this season makes him the starter. I would hope that, in response, Henry would use the challenge to improve his mediocre play this season. We'll see.
  9. So neither RB has scored a TD, so they're equal there (for what it's worth, I believe that McGahee broke the plane of the end zone on his last carry). But one guy is averaging 4 yards a carry. One guy hasn't tripped over his own feet. One guy actually has picked up blockers. One guy hasn't run the wrong way on handoffs. And one guy hasn't run the wrong route on screen passes. Travis needs to get his act together, because his play is costing him his job this year.
  10. No, but I can explain to you how he converted 3rd and 3 without falling flat on his face. And I can explain how he converted third downs in the passing game without running the wrong route. And I can explain how he didn't blow any blocking assignments that got Bledsoe clobbered so bad that he fumbled the ball and it was returned for a TD.
  11. Travis had 26 carries against the Jags, and it didn't result in 100 yards. He had over 20 against Oakland, and again it did nothing to wear down the defense. And it's more than just run blocking. McGahee converted 3rd downs on 2 shovel passes yesterday, while efforts to get Henry involved in the passing game have been blown up by Henry's mistakes. I think they're both good backs, but Henry is not playing to his standards he set the last two years. Both guys can contribute, but right now, McGahee is playing better football. To me, that warrants he be named the starter.
  12. The Bills probably made some Jets fans nervous last week when they took the lead at the end of the last road game. If the same thing happens in Baltimore, will Boller be able to lead a 7 for 7 drive to win the game like Pennington did? I doubt it. Leftwich, Gannon, Brady, and Pennington all needed to make plays to beat the Bills. We'll see if Boller has it in him.
  13. The season is more than a quarter finished. Is Henry's production anywhere near the level it was the last 2 years? As a Bills fan who knows the type of player Henry is, he's underperforming and hurting the team. How many more loses should the team endure while Henry is trying to regain his form? This team is in desparate need of guys making plays. McGahee did that in the 4th quarter against the Jets, and in the Dolphins game. That's 5 more quarters of production than Henry's posted this season.
  14. Moulds and Evans have scored touchdowns. Henry hasn't. Moulds and Evans have made big plays. Henry hasn't.
  15. Your argument comparing Moulds to Henry is mistaken, because Moulds has made big plays this season and Henry hasn't. It easier to forgive an error when the guy comes back and scores a TD, or makes a play to extend a key drive. Henry vs. McGahee is more like Reed vs. Evans. Where the "starter" has made fewer plays that his "backup." I completely agree with your assessment of Henry's career, but the production hasn't been there this season. He hasn't made plays, he's made mistakes. It's difficult for the coach to ignore that. I've seen enough from Henry over his last few years to believe he's in a slump right now. He can be a solid contributor to the team if he gets things straightened out. But the Bills play the Ravens next week, and Mularkey has to pick a starting RB. McGahee outperformed Henry in the Jets game, and posted the best game by a Bills RB this season. Who would you pick? 4 games is more than enough time to lose a starting job in the NFL.
  16. Could it be possible that Miami goes winless, the Pats or Eagles go undefeated, and Marino is erased from the record books all in one seaon? Nah, nobody has that much bad karma, right? I blame JJ stomping on those Flutie Flakes for all of this!
  17. And they traded up in the first round to grab Boller, a questionable and risky move (much like TD's move to nab Losman, but unlike Boller, Losman's no flop, right? )
  18. At the same time the Bills has shown itself to be good enough to contain most good running backs, many of whom run behind good offensive lines. And the Ravens Oline has had some problems this year to cast doubt on whether Chester Taylor and Musa Smith will be able to dominate the Bills defense. I still think Boller is going to have to make plays, and knowing Billick, he'll turn him loose. The Bills need to capitalize on those situations. And no doubt Baltimore's defense holds the game in their hands. How the Bills attack and counter the Ravens defense will determine the outcome of the game. That's why I believe Mularkey and Clemments, who have gameplanned against the Ravens D twice a year over the last few seasons, will be key to this game.
  19. Shelton played a pretty good game yesterday. He flattened an bunch of guys yesterday on McGahee's runs. You can't waste a talent like McGahee at fullback. He speed mandates that you line him up deeper in the I formation. Henry and McGahee are going to have to come to terms with splitting carries this season. Henry can either pout on the bench or eliminate his mistakes and contribute. Hopefully he'll respond positively to the competition.
  20. Maybe if Henry didn't trip himself up and blow assignments, the Bills would have a chance to extend drives, giving himself more opportunites to rack up yards. Henry's just not playing up to his form of the last two seasons. McGahee made plays yesterday, something Travis hasn't really done all season. On 3rd and 3, Willis gains 4. On 2nd and 3, Travis stumbles and falls untouched. McGahee converts on third and long via a shovel pass. Travis screws up 3rd and long by running the wrong way on a screen. If you were the coach, who would you start? The guy making mistakes or the guy making plays?
  21. Would that also include Henry's usual 60 yards rushing and numerous blown assignments? I have a lot of respect for what Henry has done over his career, and hope that he and Willis will put aside their egos for what's best for the team. But his play just hasn't been that good this year. McGahee's performance is exactly what the coaches expect for the gameplan they have created. Conversely, Henry has not gotten the job done.
  22. Well, J. Lewis is out and the Bills do have a pretty good run defense. In each Buffalo loss, you can point to one or two big throws made by the opposing QB that contributed to the loss. Can Boller make similar plays without making mistakes? No joke, a big key to this game is the Bills keeping the Ravens defense off the board. The good news is that Mularkey has experience gameplanning against the Ravens, so he knows their defense pretty well.
  23. Hey man, cool avatar. Where can I get one like that?
  24. Which OLine are you talking about? The Bills Oline had nothing to do with Morris yesterday.
  25. Levy Bills would choose to take the wind in the 1st and 4th quarters, because his offense was good enough to build big leads in the 1st, and good enough to come back if they needed in the 4th. Needless to say, the current Bills offense is completely different. After accomplishing nothing in the 1st half yesterday, the Bills need to put some points on the board quick. That's why they took the ball in the 3rd and gave up the wind in the 4th. It worked out well, as the Bills posted 10 points on their first 2 drives.
