  1. Doh, link crashed.
  2. me neither...cough
  3. I'm wondering if losing his daughter has made him realize he doesn't have much time left and wants to win now, whatever the cost.
  4. PS - I'd give anything to have heard Shanahan say "I'm going to want to bring in my own staff and fire the entire front office, including you Russ"
  5. If they didn't get him after that meeting, I'd say we're not going to sign him. And I'm ok with that....onto plan B...get a good GM in here ASAP.
  6. And had two Super Bowl trophies and 7 playoff appearances. Fisher - no Super Bowl trophies, 6 playoff appearances, and hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years. I don't think he's as safe as you all think.
  7. And who thought Shanahan would have gotten fired last year...remember the shock?
  8. Coaches who may get fired this year? Fox, Fischer....may be some other surprises out there as well. Who else might get the axe? We lose out on the big name guys, hire a solid GM before the end of the season and end up with the one those guys...
  9. Let's not forget that Matt Millen was his GM in Detroit. No coach could win with that guy as GM, just like no coach can win here with Brandon as GM (or whatever you call him). More and more I want the Bills to hire a top GM first.
  10. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/11/2...ng-big-for-2010 I've been saying this for a year now, great to see a source confirm it. I still can't believe this guy is playing any role in the coach/GM search and some here want him made President: "Brandon is a marketing guy. He is looking for sizzle and splash to sell tickets," said one league insider. "He has no clue how to build a successful football team and clearly paid no attention to the locker room that is so important when he signed Terrell Owens. At best, he should be in charge of business operations. He is not qualified to be an NFL general manager and has no business evaluating talent, even though he might pretend to act like he knows." And hadn't heard this: "Brad Butler went down. Demetrius Bell was not ready physically and went out with injury. Jonathan Scott quit on the team." A lot of the other stuff is news that's been floating around, this ties it together. I wish folks would stop mentioning Gilbride as a candidate.
  11. Watching ESPN - Holmgren, Gruden, Shanahan were all reached out to by Bills. - Shanahan will be in Buffalo this week, they will make it hard for for him to leave without job. - If it doest pan out, keep an eye on Charlie Weiss. - Bills interested in Bill Polian's son, but tensions from Bill's firing may prevent it.
  12. For those who want to blindly hand over the President title to salesman Russ Brandon and have him lead the coach/GM search, Larry Felser lays out a plan that Ralph SHOULD follow in today's Buffalo News. On blackberry and not sure how to post link, but Felser argues to bring in a retired experienced GM like Acorsi and have them serve as temporary consultant as well as lead the search for a permanent GM/coach. Itd be costly, but would you rather have Acrosi/Ron Wolfe evaluate the Front Office and make hiring decisions, or Russ Brandon? Its a no brainer in my opinion.
  13. Dungy had Polian in Indy...nuff said.
  14. Since when does Channel 4 get scoops?
  15. As I said, I have no problem with Brandon handling the biz side and GM handling the football side. However I dont feel Brandon should be named President, a title only Wilson himself and TD have held. I also said the GM should not report to Brandon in any capacity. Finally, I can't believe that Brandon is even leading the GM search. Unicorns?
  16. You know, I usually agree with most of what Sully says in his columns, but the one this morning has me irked. In it he says we need to cut lose Modrak and Guy (True), bring in an established HC (True), and a real football man at GM (true). All great, but then he says to elevate Brandon to President. Brandon to President? Huh? 1) He's a sales/marketing guy, not a football man and should not be running this organization. Name the Sales/Marketing department after him, put a statue of him in there, but for the love of god he should not be at the top of the leadership pyramid. 2) What established GM would come in here and report to Brandon? None would because they know what he is, a Wilson pawn and a glorified used car salesman. 3) Brandon stands next to big free agents with a smile, answers questions about Toronto, and we see him when there's good news. Once the crap hits the fan, the guy vanishes, where's he been the last month? He hasn't been held accountable. In fact, where was he last night? I was shocked to see Fewell walk right up to the podium. If anything, Brandon should either be demoted as he has no accountability, or transferred back to his Sales/Marketing office and told to stay there. If they want, have him run the business side and retain his title and let the new GM be in the spotlight with all football decisions. But in no way should any organizational chart have an arrow pointing from the GM to Brandon, unless its pointing down at him.
  17. "Jauron was one of six finalists Levy interviewed for the Bills head coaching vacancy in 2006 after Mike Mularkey quit. The others were ex-Bill James Lofton, special teams coach Bobby April, Dom Capers, Mike Sherman and Jim Caldwell. "He's a good man, a good football coach," Levy said of Jauron. "Really, when it came right down to it, it was between Dick and Jim Caldwell and both Ralph and I agreed that we'd go with someone with head coaching experience." For that, Jim Caldwell thanks them. He is now coaching the 9-0 Indianapolis Colts. Peyton Manning is his quarterback. Bill Polian is his GM." http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...3/911180350/tbd Of course he probably would have failed here anyways with Modrak, Guy, and Brandon calling the shots.
  18. I don't care about any coaches names until we get a real GM in here.
  19. Here here!!
  20. ESPN dropping the ball here, they got nothin. FIRE MODRAK AND GUY TOO!!!!
  21. PS, which of the 90 was your favorite? Mine was Lee Evans catching 3 TDs against Miami it what looked to be a blowout, until Sage Rosenfels (sp?) came back to beat us.
  22. "By the way, Buffalo hit a milestone — this was its 90th loss of the decade. In the 1990s, the Bills won 103 games." http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...3/911170312/tbd
  23. Who me? No, you got me mixed with somebody else, I was always Matt from Brooklyn on the chats.
  24. hahaha! Yes! Its a game I play every Monday, I try to figure out which is his by the title. I guess right 9 out of 10 times. I once told him in a chat that he's the first article I search for on Monday mornings after a Bills game, and that's the biggest compliment I can give.
