I understand the play. The decision is to not throw the ball or to throw it away. If a play is blown up, or a receiver is covered you don't throw it there. By your logic, we have one primary receiver and if he is covered, Bledsoe should throw it there anyway. Today of all days, Bledsoe HAS to know how important it is to protect the football. Baltimore’s offense is awful and he cannot turn the ball over.

Bledsoe also missed a wide open Eric Moulds at the goaline. It is rare when you can lay the blame for the loss at one person's feet. There is no question in this case that Bledsoe single handedly cost us the game.

I thought the best compliment was from Shanahan. When commenting about JP on the sidelines he said, "looks like we have ourselves a football player". When the opposing coach makes a comment like that, it is a good sign. Also, I liked how Mularkey talked to Drew on the sideline and told him that we are going to have a lot of close games this year. He said this is how we are going to play this year.

Now, that Travis Brown is only out 4-6 weeks (good news) and Losman will be back by season's end, the Bills will be forced to cut the veteran they sign when Brown is healthy enough to play. You cannot keep 4 QB's on your roster for long. This may make signing that veteran QB (O'Donnell, D. Johnson, Kordell, Mathews, etc.) more difficult without sending Brown or Losman to IR. As insurance, they will cut Zolman (when the veteran is signed) and sign him to the practice squad.
