Because we didn't sign a whale in the first 5 minutes of the tampering period??

Cam Lewis is solid depth with years of experience with the Bills on special teams and a backup DB. What you call a scrub.

This is shy KC keeps beating us,  go look at their cap situation and how many players making less than 2 million.  There is no team giving this guy 4 million,  until Beane stop overpaying on fringe players this team will not move ahead.  Levi Wallace would have been a better choice, the guy is scrub and could have easily been replaced by one of the many second or third day picks

Not really a fan of this. Lewis and Rapp are not guys you sign on day zero of FA. If they sign elsewhere so be it, we can find cheaper options on day 3 of the draft or in late stage FA. McDermott is a little too obsessed with continuity at depth positions IMO.

Cam Lewis is a scrub and your !00% about McDermott and never trying to get better  and being obsessed with continuity

  3. As much as I hate losing guys these were moves Beane had to make.  We had to stop with the kicking money down the road on players that are not elite and you still not good enough with to beat the Chiefs. Gave who sign with the Jags is a solid receiver but he is also not a true #2 receiver. I think the Bills understand that Diggs needs better receivers around him so teams cannot just load up on him.

Comparing to the chiefs and 49ers the 2 SB teams, here's how I'm going to categorize as elite:

-Made 1st team/2nd all pro last year

-Top 3/4 at position. (For example, Josh and Mahomes are elite even though they didn't get voted all pros)

So for the bills I got 3 players but technically only 2 last year cause the Milano injury.

    -Josh, Milano, Taron.

    Chiefs: 7 players

-Mahomes, Kelce, thuney, humphries, C Jones, Mcduffie, Sneed

49ers: Hufanga got hurt so technically 7 players

-Mccafery, Aiyuk, T Williams, Kittle, Bosa, Warner, Hufanga, Chardavious Ward

    (I didn't include their fullback)

So in the playoffs if you factor in injuries, bills had 2 "elite" players based on the all pro selection/my opinion.

    Chiefs 7

And 49ers 7 with the Hufanga injury.

While the bills have a lot of good to very good players, I really think they are missing some game breakers on this team.

    What do you guys think?

    Aaron is not elite

Interesting that Morse is the only ex-Bill getting immediate interest after the cuts.   Clearly he has value around the league.   I can see the Bills regretting not having Morse around this year.

No it was the smart move,  he is most likely not signing unless he receives around 8-10 in guaranteed money.  He older with a history of concussions,  Bills had to move on.

I don't know what Miami is thinking, but I don't think of it that way.   Yes, for any other position, the question is whether the player is worth the money.  That is, if you're talking about a linebacker, is he the best LB in the league, and what does the best LB cost?  Or is he the 10th best, and what's 10th best worth?  If he's depth and he's the 50th best LB, what is that worth.

But for QB, I think the question is different.  I think to a great extent, if you don't have a true franchise QB, you don't have anything.   That is, I'm not interested in paying 10th best money to the 10th best QB, because the 10th best QB isn't a franchise QB.   If I have the 10th best QB, I'm still looking for my QB.   It's the position Washington was in and Minnesota now is in with Cousins.

So, from my point of view, Miami's question is whether they believe Tua is their franchise QB.   If he is, then sign him up at whatever cost.   If he isn't, signing him to a mid- to high- contract is a mistake, because they'll be stuck with that contract when they decide to move on from him in a year or two or three.

"Insist" may be too strong a word, but I would be amazed if Beane and McDermott haven't talked about WR with Allen.  They certainly would like his input about what kind of receiver Allen sees as helping.  And to some extent I'm sure Allen is saying to them, "Just figure out who we need to win."   It's not like Allen's priority is a 5000-yard season or 50 TD passes.  He wants to win the Super Bowl, and if they can win the Super Bowl running 35 QB sneaks a game, Allen will sign up for it.

I prefer he not be doing 2-3 QB sneaks a game and just get back to the offence we had a few season ago where we just outscored teams.  Not interested in these 12-13 play 7-8 min drives.

    He also is a holder.

Does not matter,  they just signed a very capable backup QB.  We need a punter who can flip the field and neither Hacck or Martin are the guy

First move of the day I do not like. Hopefully he will have competition in a rookie.

Bringing back Haack is a loser move,  the guy has a weak leg and has no business being on the Bills.  This has McDermott's high character guy connection to it,  just draft a kid with one of the many late rounders  the Bills have.  Martin and Hacck are garbage and Bills need to move forward

Wish he would do the same with the Sabres. Instead he cuts scouting to 1 pro scout and refuses to spend in free agency.

Big difference in revenues including massive NFL TV money they receive. The Sabres don't have a franchise player like Allen,  Pegula is trying his best to win a chip during Allen's prime. If the Bills did not have Pegula  then we would have been seeing play cuts in previous years like we saw this season.  This is a reset year and that is why Beane loaded up with so many picks.  We will have plenty of young players on this team and they cut the vets making big dough

This is a solid move in my mind.  Is there even another safety on the roster?  Rapp is  at least a known quantity and he knows their scheme.  They are not done with this position so let’s see what they have in mind, but if people envisioned somehow capturing lightening in a bottle again with Hyde and Poyer replacements, I think they should adjust their short term expectations.

Bills will need to use whatever cap space they have to sign a starting safety along with DT and maybe a wr

I have been saying it for years, but I think Andrew Brandt, who was the salary cap guru in Green Bay for a time jointed the Pat McAfee show yesterday to talk salary cap, specifically with the Rams moves and I think this is before the Kupp deal dropped. He does a really excellent job of explaining how so long as you have cash rich owners willing to spend up front the NFL salary cap is not the restriction people think. It's an accounting cap that should not stop good and smart teams from signing players so long as revenues continue to increase.

Remember folks - the salary cap is just accounting.

Bills fans and Beane are very lucky to have Pegula who has spent money

Looks like starters money to me..

I really don't like this signing,  we"re better off keeping Poyer then this guy who played out of control and that seems like way too much money.
