  1. Another good but not great player that Beane overpaid and we will be in cap jail down the road because of it.  You just don't give guys like this top money and I'm sure plenty will disagree but it's the big reason why Beane has no young stars on this team.  He is good and maybe worth 6-7 mllion tops of cap space.  The guy has benefited playing in McDermott's soft zones

We all know what happened.. why do people have to ba either all in on Diggs, or a conspiracy theorist who wants him gone.

I love Diggs the player, he’s been excellent and the Bills are better next year if he’s in the team. I can also acknowledge that he may not want to be in Buffalo and if that’s the case then so be it.

I personally feel like there is a serious problem with Allen and Diggs and it showed up on the final drive.  In previous years Allen in crunch time is looking for his man Diggs and Diggs was wide open right in front of him. I know it will cost a lot but we need to move on if there is a chemistry issue and Diggs did not close out the season or final 7-8 games looking like a true #1

If I was Beane.. I make it known a 2 & 4 gets it done, and I’d listen if someone countered with a 2 & 5.. or just a 2 depending on how high.

Then I draft two WR’s in the first 2 Rounds.

Ideal in a Super Bowl window year?  No, but I’m expecting Kincaid and Shakir to come into their own in Year 2 / Year 3 respectively.  A healthy Knox and the addition of Curtis Samuel should all make Allen’s life easier in the short to intermediate.

Then develop chemistry with your drafted outside guys + some Mack Hollins as the season goes on.

    RD1 - AD Mitchell

    RD2 - Keon Coleman

    (for example)

At least we’re choosing one of the best WR classes in recent history to do this in.

But if the return is anything less than a 2.. nah.. I’d need something back that allows me to reasonably double dip at the top end of the WR class.

The problem is we have some emotionally attached Bills fans that believe Diggs is some superstar and not willing to move on.  I think part of the reason why Diggs's numbers dropped in the second half of last season is Allen got sick of him and his brother's stupid crap. It's up to the FO to see this and realize with this latest tweet that it may be best to move and take the hit.

This will most likely be his last season as a Bill. What we do in the draft will likely highlight our intentions moving forward with Diggs. If I’m the bills I would still take two wr in the first four picks.

Exactly,  this team will only stay competitive with Allen and having weapons around him.  Diggs is a good possession receiver,  but he does not scare any team with having big play ability.  The Bills should have drafted a receiver with a top pick well before this season. Again,  Diggs not worth the trouble and his tweet is all over the net,  he knew this would bring him attention and not in a good way for the Bills.

  5. End of the day he is just not worth the trouble,  my biggest problem last season was his brother on numerous occasions was trashing Allen on twitter.  There is no way his brother is doing this unless he is hearing Stefon say bad things about Allen himself. Beane screwed up, he should have traded him right after 13 secs rather than give him that stupid extension.  That extension is the biggest reason why we cannot sign free agents

Minnesota fans warned us.  We should have noticed Diggs has an expiration date closer to a loaf of bread than twinkies.  He is too self focused to be a team player on a long term basis.  I just wish Beane could figure out a way to move Diggs without wrecking our roster.

So true, I read comments from Viking fans who are thankful he is gone.  Beanne screwed up after 13 secs and giving him that extension,  was never a #1 option for big games

Honestly they probably should’ve traded Diggs when he wanted more money in 2022. That’s a tough decision that not many fans would’ve liked. I hope the Bills never pay a 29 year old WR top 5 money again unless he’s just a rare talent.

Exactly ,  the Chiefs traded Hill who was 27 when he ask for another big contract.  Diggs is good but not elite and it was a terrible decision to give him that contract just before turning 29. It's one of the worse contracts in the NFL,  almost 28 million for the next 2 seasons alone with dead cap hits of 31 and 22 mil along with 28 million in 3 seasons with 13 million dead cap. Diggs is the biggest reason why this team can't add talent through free agency and he is no longer young enough to be a big difference maker.

Beane gave away too much to guys that were old and not elite

Fair, but Diggs/Kincaid need to actually play like superstars when it matters for this to work.

Kincaid was just a rookie, so no issues there.

Diggs keeps showing us who he is when it matters.  I struggle to call anyone elite when they don’t step up in the biggest moments.

Giving Diggs that contract at his age was stupid and Diggs has shown he cannot make the big plays in big playoff games.  This year he counts 27 million against the cap,  that hurts.

Would anyone trade straight up right now their top 4 for our top 4?

    Stefon Diggs

    Curtis Samuel

    Khalil Shakir

    Dalton Kincaid

    For

    Rashee Rice

    Marquise Brown

    Justin Watson

    Travis Kelce

Yes I would take their top 4 because it is much cheaper

Guy is constantly hurt but obviously you’d be interested at a short term dice roll

I am sure so many other teams are also interested and they actually have cap space.  The Diggs contract is a killer for this team

I am to the point I don't give a **** if they can run block or not.  Create separation, get open, catch the damn ball consistently.  THEN we can talk about the damn run blocking.

He is not a great receiver signing,  this is another scrub signing.

Fans need to think Sherfield,  they will talk him up but Mcdermott pushed for this because of his run blocking.

This is a Trent Sherfield level signing. I really hope this isn't the end of our WR free agent shopping.

This has nothing to do with our passing game,  he is a great run blocker.  I hope this is not the end of receiver signings as you mentioned

Las Vegas Raiders WR Mack Hollins is a Swiss-Army-Knife

Oct 25, 2022 — Pro Football Focus has Hollins as the highest graded run-blocker among eligible wide receivers (84.2 grade). With help of Hollins' run blocking ...

I just hope were not going to continue to throw all resources at our defence so Mcdermott can play ground and pound football. Never winning anything that way

In theory, the Bills could be fine or even improved from last season if the following happen:

    - Diggs returns to form (maybe he was injured)

    - Kincaid improves from his rookie year (likely)

    - Shakir maintains his effectiveness with increased targets.

    - Cook continues to improve as a pass catcher (he improved last year, why not again?)

    - Knox plays well when he’s on the field (hopefully he his fully healthy this year).

Davis’ targets going to Kincaid, Shakir and Cook could be okay.

With that being said, it feels like FA is shaping up for a 1st round WR and a couple depth vet FAs.

Wishful thinking ,  wr position has been in decline for past 2 seasons and it has reflected with how we see the Bills play

  13. Matakevitch and Klein are both scrubs and glad their both not returning, Dodson is overrated .  This Morrow guy is better then all 3 and gives the Bills some decent depth  who can also play special teams.  I like the signing

Hmm. Guess it was a bad year to need DL help. We are bringing back the same underperforming group and hoping for the best.

I'm a little perplexed about Beane's strategy these past couple weeks. Cut underperforming overpaid players, then turn around and re-sign a bunch of guys in the same bucket.

I'm sure the real numbers aren't so bad. Hopefully he's healthy and gives us the level of play we got before his injury. I'm not upset about this individual signing. Just confused about what the plan is.

I like Jones but he is turning 33 this year and this seems a little too much for a player that is good but on the wrong side of 30.

End of the day this is a roster that is filled with too guys making big money and only one real star.  Either Beane is terrible at managing the cap or McDermott pushes him to keeping guys he likes by overpaying. Yes we overpay fringe players and that is why were one of worse teams in the league for being over the cap. We may make the playoffs but will struggle when we get there.

  15. Until McDermott keeps his focus on coaching and not suggesting who we resign or draft then this team will not move ahead because he is always looking to keep the fringe players that no one wants but are good character guys

I want our roster to become more top heavy, not bottom heavy. I know you generally agree with that. I would rather risk a less capable player at special teams/DB depth if it means we have more cap space available to pay a true starting caliber EDGE or WR. So personally I wouldn't have signed any depth players until next week at the earliest. I want us actually rostering as many of our draft picks as possible, not trading away decent players like Alex Austin and Jack Anderson because their spots are taken by $2M AAV players. That money adds up and eventually takes away from the top of the roster.

Makes no sense to be signing scrubs that are not getting offers from anyone,  this is what I hate about Beane.  Same thing about signing the punter,  like why are you rushing to sign a punter who went the whole year without a job last season

Brandon Beane's gotta be looking over his shoulder for you.

Or maybe your tears after they lose again in the playoffs because of signing the same scrubs.
