What NFL team comes out with the same less than average QB and a 66% roster CHANGE from the previous year after 17 seasons of not making the play-offs and expects to win??? ANSWER: NO TEAM !!! The 34% who still remain as of Sunday (18 players) are: Groy, Henderson, Mills, Wood, Incognito, Glenn, Tyrod, Miller, Clay, O’Leary, Schmidt, Williams, Alexander, Brown, Hughes, McCoy, Tate, Washington. How many are valuable assets for trades? The Bills of 2017 were expected to lose. This was to be the cleansing, flush the toilet and start over season. Too many 7-9, 8-8 finishes didn’t make us close to being a real Super Bowl contender and we all knew that. A lucky win here, a missed penalty there and we might have grabbed a play-off spot one of those last 17 years. Did it really matter? We didn’t have the talent to be a big winner. Somehow, with less talent, the Bills have done the unexpected. Put us back in that traditional “close to the play-offs” picture. I look forward to 2018 and beyond. We’re on the right track. Enjoy it and don’t complain!

Nordly ‘Cap’ Capi, Akron DE | NFL Draft 2015: Scouting Report by R.C. Fischer “Who the hell is that guy?” That was my first reaction to ever seeing Nordly ‘Cap’ Capi play in the NFL…and it was meant as a compliment. Normally, watching preseason games can be a little dull/same ole’ same ole’ observing all the non-starting NFL players at work. Rare is it when something makes me sit up and my seat and take notice—and then alters the rest of my day, forcing me to drop everything to go back to do research. Capi’s performance against Pittsburgh in Week-1 of the 2015 preseason made me do just that. In limited playing time, playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars on and off from the late 2nd-quarter on in a Week-1 preseason affair vs. the Steelers, Capi had two sacks and another near sack/a QB hit as a pass was released. It wasn’t so much that he registered some nice pass rush numbers in a preseason game. It’s how he did it. He was a Tasmanian Devil coming off the edge as a 4-3 scheme DE. Basically, the opposing O-Tackle was almost helpless trying to contain Capi…in his first ever NFL moments. I didn’t even know the guy existed until I saw this game. Capi had two pretty dull seasons, for a future NFL prospect, at Akron in his junior (2013: 31 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 2.0 sacks) and senior seasons (2014: 39 tackles, 10.5 TFLs, 5.0 sacks). He didn’t even hit our computer scouting model screen as any type of ‘player of interest’. Two marginal years (for an NFL prospect hopeful) to end his college career, decent measurables, and a checkered past (more on that in a bit). What’s there to even waste time looking at? …and then there was the Jacksonville Week-1 preseason game…and then there was me pulling his college career apart and scouring for video…and once I saw the full story and watched him at work in college; I knew he definitely needed more study. In 2011, as a red-shirt freshman in Colorado State’s (where he began his college career) season opener against New Mexico, Capi registered 3.5 sacks…and an NCAA record FOUR forced fumbles. The amazing thing is…Capi nearly missed 2-3 more sacks with his relentless pressure in that contest. Five games into his freshman year, Capi had registered at least one sack in every game he played and was leading the NCAA in sacks (7.5) and forced fumbles (5) at the time. After the 2011 season, in the 2012 off season, Capi was arrested with three other players for allegedly beating another student. Some accounts say ‘he got in a fight’ while other accounts alleged it was a 3-on-1, savage beat down (and Capi was one of the three). It was enough to get booted from Colorado State, quickly. Capi transferred to Akron, sat out in 2012, and had two mild/decent seasons for the Zips in 2013-2014. Don’t take this next statement too far, but watching at his best, Capi struck my mind as junior/very poor man’s version of Reggie White. A relentless pass rusher at times…one blockers can hardly contain one-on-one. Capi has a very quick first step, a high motor, and is upper body strong (31 bench reps at his Pro Day) to throw blockers off balance. At times, Capi drops your jaw. However, there are also plenty of times where Capi puts you to sleep. I called him a Tasmanian Devil earlier, and it fits…too many times he will churn a ton of frenetic activity, and not all of it mattering much in a given play. Sometimes he rushes the edge so quickly the O-Tackle nudges him wide–and the next thing you know Capi’s 5-8 yards behind the QB, and the RB is running through a massive hole Capi just abandoned. He plays at such a frenetic pace, that I think he burns himself out and takes plays off to recover…or just tries, but lacks the energy. So, at times, he’s all over…then he looks asleep. Some will see Capi as ‘inconsistent’ and a scout’s favorite ‘takes plays off’ (as if a DE is supposed to sack the QB every play…it would be nice), and there is truth to this, but what needs to be acknowledged is that at times Capi is a superior pass rusher with ‘a gift’…and few have that gift…and someone needs to help him develop it or he’ll be lost in NFL oblivion forever. There are red-flags, but there is also ‘something here’ for the next-level…I’m just not sure what? Or how? Or where? Or why?

The Bills took over at their own 27 with 12:58 to play. With a mix of runs by McCoy and Cadet & passes by Peterman (not including the terrible drop by Andre Holmes that hit him in the stomach negating a 1st down) we had 1st and Goal. Suddenly - out of the blue - the play calling went way south. WHY??? You've got a raw, rookie QB, a short field of play and 2 quick RB's that were gaining yards inside. Instead, we go empty backfield on the last 3 plays and throw the ball on all 4 downs! It was dumb! It was stupid. What do you think?????? I'm frustrated by it all!

Love the humor - - If Jim didn't have his NFL pension & income as a Director of his late son's Charity he'd be broke - the truth. As for being a great hero by leading us to 4 Super Bowls - - he choked in all 4 - - check the stats and films.

It's just a game and entertainment - - why so serious???

Most posters felt this was a 4-5 win team AT BEST. With the dreaded Tyrod back at QB and the loss of Watkins, Woods, Gillislee, Gilmore & Darby and a rookie Head Coach with a rookie GM hired after the HC didn’t add to the positive outlook for the season! Then, a bunch of veteran Free Agents were brought in to fill-out the roster. A 70% change from last year’s roster! Count them - - - 70%. What other team did that? TELL ME! So - - the Bills sit at 6-5 and dangerously close to a play-off spot in the goofy AFC. Maybe a wins vs. Indy and 2 against the Dolphins could do it. That certainly is possible. A win over the Patriots? Realistically that won’t take place!!! Regardless of the final outcome, this has been an exciting season with a ton of improvements. A good draft and a few key free agents and things look great! Most of you are sad, depressed people that like to see the Bills lose. That's why you hide behind your PC and can make only critical comments. It's a game!! It's entertainment! ENJOY the ride with this new group and relax!!!!!!!!!!

-Jimmy Garoppolo -Sam Bradford -Kirk Cousins -Matthew Stafford -Drew Brees -Derek Carr ALL are potential Free Agents for the 2018 season. A franchise tag from their current teams would probably run in the $25-28 mil area for one year. I'm sure the players and their agents don't want the tag for long-term security and salary negotiation reasons. If we could only sign one of them to a long term deal and then draft a QB for the future.

A. Tyrod makes them look better because of his escapability and running ability B. McCoy has big running games when he gets yardage all on his own [squirts through a small hole, makes a LB miss and runs for 30-40 yards] C. McCoy has 'bad' games when the line can't open up even a small hole D. Eric Wood is VERY overrated, can't power block, needs help with pass blocking and is a member of the in-house veteran group that 'works' with the HC E. John Miller can't get on the field anymore after starting 28 games in '15 and '16 at RG. He was a third round pick of the Bills. F. Jordan Mills is extremely weak at RT. He was a 5th round pick of the Bears and later was with the Lions. G. Vladimir Ducasse at RG was a former 2nd Round pick by the Jets. Buffalo is his 5th team in 8 NFL seasons H. Why isn't Ryan Groy playing? At Center or Guard! I. Dion Dawkins, a rookie, is the best of the group J. Incognito will be 35 next season but still 2nd best This entire group is one of the worst in the NFL. They've become known as a run-blocking group only because of McCoy. This front has to be blown up and re-built before any progress can be made for the entire team!

The TANK is so obvious now after a very crazy 5-2 start! The DEFENSE only has 4 NFL quality players with the rest low-rent veterans looking for a job. They work hard & try hard but - are a step slow and all a year old.

Figure it out! 70% of the players on the current roster are new to the Bills. 70%! Imagine a company firing 70% of its employees and starting over. And, these new players aren't big-time stars. They came cheap. Humber was a S/T's player most of his career. E.J. Gaines was a 6th round pick 4 years ago. Shareece Wright shouldn't be on an NFL roster. Jordan Poyer was a 7th round pick by the Eagles and then played four years with the Browns before they cut him loose. Ryan Davis & Lorenzo Alexander wouldn't play for many other NFL teams. The Coaches & Management knew this. The FANS realized it to. For some crazy reason we got off to a wonderful start in the season. One reason was turn-overs. They came our way in bunches. Any long time fan knows that all evens out. Tyrod was shaky last year. He looked better with all those turn-overs by the defense this year. We all hoped for a miracle season but real NFL football caught up with us!

I started a bit earlier - saw the Kemp, Gilchrist and great D games at the Rock-pile. 2 AFL Championships that were wonderful in that day and age. But, I agree with your vision after 1973.

Nagging injuries, bumps, sprains and bruises take a toll during a long NFL season. A veteran defensive player ( 6 years plus in the League ) has taken a lot of contact. All the following Bills are Veterans and are playing major minutes in every game. Many have been around the block with multiple NFL teams. Coaching can do so much!! Cedric Thorton 6 years Lorenzo Alexander 11 years Ryan Davis 6 years Ramon Humber 9 years Leonard Johnson 6 years Shareece Wright 7 years Jerry Hughes 8 years Kyle Williams 12 years Maybe we are expecting too much after a very surprising defensive start to the season??

The day will come when the Sabres have a Friday or Saturday game vs. the Knights and the Bills a Sunday game vs. the Raiders all in Las Vegas! What a nice vacation and so much fun!!

It looks like over the last 2 defensive embarrassments that he is pretty AVERAGE! Not strong enough against the run and certainly not quick or fast enough to make a difference in the pass rush or on the edge. If he was a #4 pick it would be OK. And, he get his 2nd NFL contract as a very AVERAGE NFL player! Probably not here!
