  1. On the Bledsoe trade from New England the Bills needed a quarterback desperately. New England wanted a 1st rounder and Donahoe wanted to get him for less than that. I think that Donahoe was willing to wait to get Bledsoe for less but after talking to Ralph Wilson, Wilson said to give up the 1st rounder. The Bills gave up the 13th pick in the 2003 draft. If the Bills did not get Bledsoe they probably would have got Jeff Blake who did not have nearly the cridentials of Bledsoe but would not have cost them a draft pick and would have costed them about 1-2 million against the cap compared to 5 million for Bledsoe. Hindsight says that the Bills maybe should have gone for Blake but Blake didn't perform well either so it is difficult to say if the Bledsoe move was the right one or not. Thinking back on the trade for Peerless Price , Atlanta wanted to give a 1st rounder for the 2004 draft not 2003, but Tom Donahoe insisted that he wanted their 1st round pick for 2003. The Bills did get the 2003 pick which was 23rd overall. From my understanding the Bills were not overly impressed with the players who were their at #23 so took the player who they felt coulkd make the most impact in future years in McGahee. The problem was he was injured badly I realize that Atlanta was considered to be Superbowl contenders in 2003 until Michael Vick got hurt but if Donahoe thought that the late 1st round of the 2003 draft was going to be weak he shoud have waited took the pick for 2004. Instead the have McGahee who signed a 5 year deal paying him 1st round money. The 1st season he didn't play at all due to rehabbing. His 2nd season so far he is the definate backup and is hardly being used at all, basically wasting 2 years of the 5 year deal of the 1st round pick. If the Bills would have took Atlanta's pick in 2004 it would have been the 8th pick overall. Assuming the Bills won't want to waste a 3rd season on McGahee, we will have to wait and see what they can get in return for Travis Henry. Possibly a 2nd rounder and a late round pick. Now the Bills don't have a 1st rounder for the 2005 season which currently expected to be again in the top 10 due to their trade for Losman. http://www.gbnreport.com/2003draftorder.htm http://www.gbnreport.com/2004draftorder.htm
  2. 4. - remove the red line and bring the blue lines closer to each other - add a shootout after 5 minute overtime during the regular season - regulate size of goalie equipment - call obtruction penalties throughout the season - a penalty in the first period should be the same penalty in the closing minutes of a game - There should be a cap where if any team goes over the cap they pay a heavy fine that goes along with revenue sharing. 70-30 gate sales should be split between home and away teams - No more garanteed contracts - it makes too many players take a night off - Shorten the Season to about 72 games - Unrestricted free agentcy at age 26 or 27 for players or x amount of games played in the NHL AT LEAST WE CAN CHEER ON THE AMERKS TIL THE SABRES PLAY AGAIN
  5. The real problem, and it’s a biggie, comes when the Bills play on the road. They’ve now lost 11 of their last 13 away games with Bledsoe, who has thrown 10 touchdowns with 17 interceptions during that stretch. He’s also been sacked 45 times. http://www.wgrz.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=23151
  6. For someone who took a paycut, the new deal will cost the Bills too much money.
  7. He stands in the pocket unable waiting too long for a safe play. Sometimes he makes the play, other times he takes a sack. His career TD/ INT ratio is not very good His career completion % is poor
  8. The patriots had fumbled 5 times but did not lose any fumbles

  10. Great job Astrobot. Will you have a scouting report on the Raiders too? Something else I heard is that LB/DE Cordova was placed on IR for them. LB Humphrey was put on the IR too. Fred Taylor is expected to play. Leftwhich has had an injured throwing hand during the preseason which is partly why he has played poorly. We will see how much it will affect him opening day. I have heard that Jimmy Smith finished well last season and looks good so far this season even if he is 35 or 36 years old The Projected starting DE's and Linebackers last season had less NFL sacks combined than Ryan Denney's 3.5 sacks last season
  11. even after taking a pay cut, the bills are still paying bledsoe too much money
  12. I think that we should win the opener vs Jacksonville due to their lack of pass rush and they don't have much of a recieving game outside of the 35 year old Jimmy Smith Beating Oakland on the road will be much more difficult. Wheatly lost weight. Fargus is an explosive back. Porter is healthy. They have fast young receivers that may put Jerry Rice as a backup sooner than later. They got W Sapp & T Washington to bolster their run defense. On the good side it seems as if Gannon's play has slipped since a couple years ago. They too do not have a very good pass rush. Also their new coaching staff and new players on their offensive line and changes in their defensive backfield may take time for the team to adjust to. New England. Well, can the Bills stop or slow down the short passing game of New England? Can they keep Cory Dillon under wraps? Can they score on the NE defense? Can they win the turnover battle?
  13. I think that he can be a good player and a good person, but he has problems with injuries and holding onto the football.
  14. your receivers are excellent but your running backs will be splitting time
  15. Most publications had him not even being drafted but the Bills took him in the 5th round

  18. They will have even more money under the cap when Milloy comes back and they cut Pierson Proileau I think they should look to extend A Schobal or N Clements if they can't get an extension with them then try P Williams or J Jennings, ifyou can't get an extension with then then try both M Price and K Thomas
  19. The optimist in me says 11-5 The pesimist in me says 7-9 I would guess maybe they will go 10-6
