  1. I mean, they just hired a decent coach in McCarthy and got rid of a bad one in Garrett. You’re telling me there’s no way Dallas wins more than 8 games next year if they pay Dak and Cooper? Rivers is WASHED. He didn’t get to the HoF playing like he did last year. He’s terrible. You’re being silly. Foolish to write off any QB prospect huh? Why don’t you tell me what late first/early second round QB next year or the next year or the next year will be better than Dak then? Or is it just a mythical “prospect” that you don’t know? Or better yet, why don’t you tell me where that opinion was when you claimed over and over the 2017 draft was a bad QB draft and none of them deserved to be top 10 picks? How bout we stop listening to your QB “analysis” and “grass is greener” team-building approach, mmmkay?
  2. Football is so hard to statistically narrow down. I’d imagine it would be weakly positive at best, considering how few samples would exist, how many good offenses score a lot regardless, and how many trash offenses get carried by defenses. On average? The median starting field position would probably be the best indicator, but good luck finding that data.
  3. This may be the first person to change their position in TBD history. I may frame this post and put it on my mantle. You answered your own question. You don’t know. Something will have to give, it always does. Russell Wilson once upon was in this exact same boat. His contract was the beginning of the end for that incredible roster. But no one is talking about how the Seahawks should have let him walk and instead drafted Paxton Lynch. You’d much rather keep a star QB and lose a star DB or OG than keep a star at any position and lose the QB. Russell Wilson may never win another Super Bowl again. Lots of great players don’t win Superbowls. But the Seahawks have a chance every year that guy plays. The 49ers had ZERO chance of winning with Richard Sherman when CJ Beathard was under center.
  4. Better average field position would likely correlate with offensive points per drive, however.
  5. Brandon Beane hasn’t even GMed a team that’s won a playoff game. His record since taking over as GM is WORSE than Dallas’ in the same time period. Dallas also has a better roster almost entirely across the board. Buffalo is a much better coached, but less talented roster. I honestly do not fathom this discussion. They have a worse chance of winning the Super Bowl with Rivers than Dak so why sign him at all? Do you honestly think Jordan Love or Jake Fromm will be a better NFL QB than Dak Prescott? What is your end game strategy as the Dallas GM? Let your superstar OL, RB, WR, DE and LB groups age (and sign large contracts/leave the team) while you pay Rivers $15M, and hope you land a HoF QB outside of the top 15 in the draft while ignoring the statistical reality that makes that nearly impossible? Is that the secret plan?
  6. Right, but the Bills offense had the 8th best starting field position and the Jags had the 32nd. The numbers are always affected by the other numbers. That’s why the stats are fun to talk about but aren’t the end all be all.
  7. Really? So how does Dallas improve next year by signing a worse FA QB to big money and then also using a draft pick on another worse QB? What percentage of late first/second round QB’s ever win 10 games in a season, let alone twice? Or win a playoff game? Or throw 30 TDs? I thought BILLS FANS of all people would recognize just how difficult it is to find an above average starting QB in this league. This is crazy.
  8. It’s really simple. If Josh Allen was RoTY, was ~40-20 as a starter, went to the playoffs twice, had two double digit win seasons under center, and had a playoff win against a quality opponent by his fourth season, EVERYONE would want to pay him. And they’d be crazy to let him go and then try to draft some guy in the late first or second round to replace him. That’s it. Case closed.
  9. “It’s not delivery!” was an awesome line though. Jay Z had a line once. Would you rather be underpaid or overrated? We all know what NFL fans would want their players to be.
  10. Eagles fans aren’t happy with that Wentz contract and they won a Super Bowl with the guy playing most of the year. Fans can be idiots.
  11. I think the folks who are hating on Dak have some kind of hang up that is Allen related. The two couldn’t be further from related.
  12. Silly topic aside, as the Bills average more points per drive than the Jags did last season. The Jags averaged more plays and yards per drive. So at worst, it’s a push. However, Folks are sleeping on Minshew. He looked extremely solid as a rookie. And yada yada yada “no tape!” but there was no tape on Josh during his rookie season either and it was FAR worse than Minshew’s. Minshew doesn’t have incredible arm strength but it wouldn’t surprise me if he carved out a decent career down in Jax. Down in games due to poor play early? Which QB are we talking about again?
  13. You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth now. Teams should crater, but they should also not settle for mediocrity. Cousins has been superior to both Teddy and Keemum, so didn’t they not settle for mediocrity by acquiring him? You called them a quality team, and with mediocre QBs they had some good seasons. Could a team as talented as they are lose 13 games and be in the top 2 to get a highly rated QB prospect? If Dallas lets Dak walk and goes 4-12 are they really that talented or was Dak better than you thought? So many contradictions.
  14. Minnesota over the course of the 3 years of Kirk Cousins' deal has an infinitely better chance of winning a Superbowl than the Redskins have had since letting him walk. That's a fact. Teams that start 1-7 do not win Super Bowls.
  15. Keenum had a good year in Minny, and Cousins has been less than ideal there. You won't hear me argue otherwise. But Kirk's numbers have been better almost across the board than Keenum's and he proved to be a one-hit wonder. The point was moreso how the Redskins have cratered since letting Cousins walk. Many argued paying Cousins would have been a mistake at the time. They made some good points to that affect. But is there any doubt they would have rather been Minnesota the last two seasons? Or Dallas?
  16. Uh what? Case Keenum didn't even start 16 games with the Vikings. He went 11-3 as a starter, and then went 6-10 with Denver the following year. Oh, and then he went 1-7 with the Skins. Thanks for playing.
  17. Okay, so when has a team franchised a QB and traded him to another team and gotten BETTER for it? WTF are you talking about .500. Dak is 40-24 as a starter, is that .500? The Tyrod comparison is laughable, HE was a .500 QB. Tyrod threw 14 TD his last season as a starter, Dak threw over twice that last season. You have embarrassed yourself. The Cowboys made the playoffs twice, and won in the playoffs in 4 seasons and you call it QB purgatory. The Bills went 17 years without a playoff APPEARANCE. THAT'S QB purgatory. The Redskins let Kirk Cousins go rather than pay him. Lots of folks thought he was overrated. But the Vikings have made the playoffs, won a playoff game, and gone 18-12-1 with Kirk. The Redskins have gone 10-22 since letting Cousins leave. Thank god they aren't paying a QB though, right?? It's like talking to people who haven't watched the NFL at all. Jesus.
  18. I don't like him that much, but it's simple NFL economics. You do not let QB's like that walk out the door. Dak Prescott is 40-24 in his career with 14 GWDs in his first 3 seasons. What are you even talking about? Furthermore, when has a good team EVER let a franchise QB walk and had success? Basically, if they have a HoF QB backing him up. That's it. This "they will regret this deal" nonsense is and always has been garbage. You pay QBs who have demonstrated they can play at a high level. period. You do not let them walk for nothing and start over. Are there downsides to paying a QB big money? Obviously. But the Bills and Browns were two of the worst teams in the NFL for DECADES and it wasn't because they were paying a premium for lower end franchise QB. It was because they didn't have a QB worth a damn on the roster.
  19. So is this how it works? If a late round pick can't even make the team over an UDFA when your WR group is full of bums, it means NOTHING, but when you are able to find contributors, you're a genius? Man, McBeane is playing with house money.
  20. The Bills WR group cares. You know, the one we are desperately trying to fill, and have been since losing Sammy Watkins and Roberts Woods 3 years ago?
  21. Zay Day Ray Ray Austin Proehl None of them are even on the active roster. Not even as the #6.
  22. Dak threw 30 TD's last year, good for 4th in the league. He threw 11 picks. You guys know QB's like that are hard to find right?
