Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
HIT BY SPIKES replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Deone Walker is my Adopt-a-Bill and I am thrilled to observe his progress and evolution as a professional. ------------------------------ Exactly!!! I believe that was THE only reason Deone was drafted and perhaps the initial coy talk from the Bills regarding his eventual position was competitive strategy or "experts" looking at how he was used elsewhere than 1DT in college. I am excited to see him take on two OL blockers and allow Ed Oliver to be the behind the line of scrimmage disrupter he was in college. -
We are now 5 days away from the Giants pre-season game. I am sitting here with a fridge full of grilling leftovers from Saturday and Sunday -- Whole Un-split Asian Style Chicken Wings, Fresh Herb & Wine Chicken Thighs, Meaty Pork Back Ribs Sauced in Homemade BBQ Sauce and Korean BBQ Sliced Pork Loin -- all were marinated 2-3 days in advance in different marinates and to complete the trilogy of excess today I BBQ on the Big Green Egg the marinated in Worcester Sauce, Freshly Ground Green Peppercorn and Steak Spice Beef Short Ribs and Skinless Chicken Drumsticks in a TexMex marinated since Friday. I will no doubt freeze some since the Wife and Daughter have successfully synchronized their periods such that they are both suffering in such an expressive dramatic fashion that I feel like Jesus visiting a Monthly Menstrual Leper Colony thus they ate very little all weekend. Nonetheless, I have food for the whole week leading up to the game. I took delivery on Friday of a new outdoor deep fryer that hooks up a 20 lb propane tank I never use stored in the barn and I think all I am going to for the game is test that bad boy out for the first time with some traditional Buffalo Style Chicken Wings with celery, carrots and Blue Cheese Dip.

I just got tired of trying to find Bills games when you are travelling independently (resorts are NOT for me) in Argentina, Havana or Jamaica. So now I just pull out the Bills upcoming schedule well in advance and work around it. One week is easy however I tend to go for 2-4 weeks since I can't say I enjoy the getting there part of the trip. So for JAM when the Bills play the Panthers @ 1:00 PM on Sunday October 26th, I will leave the seclusion in the hills near Negril and go watch the game on 7 mile beach and risk being annoyed by tourists. So for HAV in January, I am counting on the Bills skipping the Wildcard Weekend and I booked a fancy hotel room in Havana for my last 3 days there that I know I can watch the Divisional Games in the comfort of my deluxe room with internet, satellite TV, large screen, balcony and the full hotel services like a beautiful breakfast buffet each morning, cigar shop, A/C and live music all day in the lobby and then patio while drinking this rum unmixed and kept in the freezer to avoid any ice or other contaminations.... That guy in the video is NOT me. He is definitely NOT a Bills Fan. My guess -- a Dolphins fan or possibly a Seahawks or 49'ers fan. Maybe Chargers since he has that Fish Taco look on his face.

Have you given much thought as to what kind of plastic cup? If not, then you really haven't done your prep work have you? Do you want to let all of your Bills Brethren here down? Here, I will help you fellow Bills fan... -------------------------------------------- You sick bastard...says the guy who planned his Jamaica vacay this upcoming October around the Bills Bye Week.

I have absolutely NO interest in trading for an ex-Bills Safety yet for some reason I would consider a wife swap of a specific one.

Now that the Giants @ Bills Pre-Season Game on Saturday August 9th is finally on the radar, the thought has occurred to me how on much effort I should put into this meal. Do I step up and treat it as a "real" game and grill some GIANT hand formed fresh 1+ lb burgers and perhaps some GIANT turkey wings or do I take a less effort approach to slowly gear up for the Home Opener against the Ravens? What are your thoughts? Obviously, I am NOT going to attend the game since when I had Bills Seasons tickets 2 decades ago, I could NOT even give away the Pre-Season games. Yeah I understand the Family Game is great for the kids and it is always nice to become re-acquainted with my American friends but it was such a long way to go for a meaningless game. Much better to watch it at home carefully to evaluate the players. Clearly, the first ear splitting song this year for each backyard tailgate will be no doubt this neighbourhood favourite...

I get that however perhaps he can be motivated to NEVER skip Legs Days and add a lot of strength below the waist over a couple of NFL off-seasons and seasons. Yeah its early. -

I hold out a lot of hope for Deon Walker evolving into that BIG 1DT next to Oliver so that Ed can be that penetrating DT he was in college. It may take some time for Deon to develop a NFL body however I thought he was a real steal in the 4th round. -

You need to have more faith in humanity during this Lent season Bills Brethren. I am sure like lawyers/attorneys that are buried at the bottom of the ocean, deep deep deep deep down those two are good people. You have to remember that there are good peeps on both sides of the butthole dividing line.

YES , of course. Those are all draft day trades that are made only if Beane sees players drop into the 2nd round from he had 1st round grade on or are still available in the 2nd round within an accessible trade reach. I am NOT suggesting Beane start accumulating draft picks before the the draft. Just a plan for the happiest day of all happy days. NO prep needed now. No stockings need to be filed now. No gifts need to be wrapped now. Our "Christmas" is a very long way off...

You just like that BIG personality of Dion eh? SHOWTIME!!! So you point to an outlier anomaly of Jason Peters who played TE in college and we drafted and molded into a LT as the rule of thumb that OL play into their late 30's? The truth is these are very big men with quick feet to be successful at the LT position in the NFL so as they gain age and weight playing excellent NFL football late into a career becomes difficult and often when the drop off in performance happens it is very rapid. So rotating a 2d round drafted OT in 2025 is by no means insane. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. That would be drafting yet another CB in the 1st round.

Dion will be 31 years old in 2 weeks. NOT young. Brown hasn't got the feet to ever be a NFL LT. It wasn't that long ago that there was some discussion of the Bills cutting bait on him until he had a good enough season to warrant a post-rookie contract. The recent development on Bond is well recent => https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/more-details-emerge-regarding-allegation-against-isaiah-bond I am not married to the pick and quite frankly my huge team of crack researchers were hitting the pipe hard that day. A WR in the 2nd round with speed makes sense and NO a 6'5" slow as a giraffe WR is NOT needed given our draft and salary cap investment in our 2 TEs. With respect to a CB, I am NOT adverse to drafting a CB although our history of drafting CBs too high or if they do work out, watching them leave always made me wonder who were these Bills fans who got excited when the Bills drafted yet another early round CB. Thank you for the revelation. I was hoping we would address our #2 CB starting position in Free Agency however perhaps the Bills see something in the CBs on the roster that you and I do NOT see.
