LA Mayor Karen Bass: Marxist
The Frankish Reich replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Call me a liberal, whatever. But I've never had that liberal obsession with Cuba. I have no idea where it comes from other than "my enemy's enemy is my friend" thinking, which of course starts with believing that the U.S. government is the enemy. I have no interest in traveling there to subsidize a horrid government. -
Yes, it is bonkers. The following are statements by bitter, egotistical old men who act like children: "Yeah, you won, but only because I didn't run." "You cheated, so I should be declared the winner." Such is the state of American politics. There is something to be admired about Jimmy Carter after all, isn't there ...

Someday someone will explain trends to you.

California (again)

I didn't know California had a Mayor. But if it did, it would be a Democrat. -
So why have treasury yields spiked since the election?

I'm afraid Trump never allowed that to be asked as he "weaved" [read: rambled] his way into something Hezbollah ... Glad to see you gave my pre-November posts your quality seal of approval. -
Mortgage rates spike up to 6.93%, highest since July. Explanation: inflationary fears due to expected Trump policies.

Q. Mr. President, two questions related to each other. First, you said on your first day of office you're going to pardon January 6th defendants. Are you planning to pardon those who were charged with violent offenses? A. Well, we're looking at it and we have other people in there. And as you see, I guess 24 or 28 people came now from the FBI. That came out very quietly. Nobody reported it, but they had people in some form related to the FBI. They had four or five people that were strongly related to the FBI. We have to find out about that. We have to find out about Hezbollah. We have to find out about who exactly was in that whole thing, because people that did some bad things were not prosecuted. -

We're going to be ending the electric car mandate quickly, by the way. This guy loves electric and he -- we don't have enough electricity. And then we have AI where we need more, and he wants to get -- he wants everybody to have an electric heater instead of a gas heater. A gas heater is much less expensive, the heat is much better. It's a much better heat. As the expression goes, you don't itch. Does anybody have a heater where you go and you're scratching? And that's what they want you to have As the expression goes: Perfectly sane. Sane and fit. -

I thought you used to say thrice. And whatever. No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American electorate. -
What a wonderful thing for the United States to do, to let Denmark off the hook and to take on a basket case like Greenland. $17,500 per Greenland resident last year. Instead of buying or "taking over" Greenland, why not fund their independence (from Denmark) movement, and then promise to double the subsidy if they do it and allow us to do whatever it is Trump contemplates doing with that vast wasteland? NOTE: Greenland's economic output is just a little lower than microstate Andorra's.

Right now, knowing what we know about both Biden and Trump: Biden. Because even if he is not sentient, he is not insane. -
California is 1.5 times larger than Colorado, and a much larger percentage of Colorado is devoted to short grass prairie or irrigated farmland. You are so proud of your ignorance. But of course the main issue isn't forest fires or brush fires; it's development of residential land in areas prone to forest/brush fires. The Palisades fire would be a minor forest fire if it had occurred farther east into the Santa Monica mountains, where there is little development. Dampen the forests!

Biden's eulogy vs. Trump's last press conference. Tell me who is less "fit." -

and the first time vs. the Chiefs, when they had it won (blocked FG) Agreed. I don't think we've seen Nix in wind yet, so we'll see how it is on Sunday. -

I doubt they're overconfident. Payton is a taskmaster. They'll be ready, but I just don't think they're good enough to beat us yet when we bring our best playoff game, and at home. If they continue to progress, maybe in a year or two ... -

The Broncos are finally a likable team too. Young guys who are obviously having fun getting better playing together, with obnoxious Payton kind of keeping out of the way this season (unlike last season). Dare I say they kind of remind me of the ascendant Bills? -

Bengals scared me a whole lot more. But I will agree: for the teams that actually made the playoffs, I'd much rather see Pittsburgh.
