  1. They really should give that boy more test tubes to clean.
  2. It seems that Trump supporters are annoyed that they put their faith in the stories of a creep who was willing to play for both teams at the same time. The correct reaction is: Oops. We have unwittingly revived the whole Russia-Trump collusion narrative. We really should be smarter.
  3. It is insane. I'm just pointing out that we, as a society, are all over the place on what age a kid has to be before being allowed to make decisions, including really bad ones.
  4. She died "doing what she loves." At age 7. We as a society say it's fine to do certain life threatening/life changing things at an early age but not others.
  5. Proving my point: appalling taste (umm, lack thereof) in music. Tone deaf lab tech.
  6. Well that's gonna make a lot of congressional candidates real happy, Lara.
  7. Just because 1,000+ clowns brought their cell phones (on, with location services on too) into the Capitol, took selfies, posted photos online with idiotic comments about how they stormed the Capitol, left their faces exposed so their "low class" (Trump's words) buddies could take video of them, etc, doesn't mean that every single Trumpist is an idiot.
  8. Seems like a wonderful use of a lab tech's dead time. That's right. Dr. Sleep as I believe I dubbed you.
  9. Yep. But I point it out because it undercuts the narrative that relying on unverified intel from suspect sources is something that only corrupt Deep State Dems would do.
  10. Republicans then: "Democrats relied on unverified raw intelligence to get a Special Counsel appointed to hound Trump for over half of his presidency. It's outrageous!" Republicans before yesterday: "We have damning evidence from a raw unverified intelligence report that proves that Biden should be impeached for corruption. It's totally fair!"
  11. Pretty sure that was the one line response. And not snark because there's nothing funny about a fatal neurological disease ...
  12. Guess who is campaigning to be Trump's Attorney General! It's nepo/nephew-baby Steven Calabresi! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Calabresi
  13. There was a discussion a while back about RFK Jr. suggesting that Jews were somehow immune from COVID. I pointed out that there was no genetic or other factor posited in support of that silly (and antisemitic) notion. A certain poster who supposedly has some training in medicine replied as follows: Tays-Sachs? This struck me as so stupid that I started to have my own doubts about that poster's credentials ....
  14. Deek: real architect. Pretty reasonable even though we disagreed more than we agreed. Chef: ran hot and cold. I suppose real Chef because why wouldn't he be. Fake. Lab assistant.
  15. DR was admittedly a struggling screenwriter. Hey, maybe he was writing a spec script with a nutritionist protagonist with far right-wing politics. I'm still working through this logical conundrum. Nicely put at any rate.
  16. It would be understandable if Trump said something like this: "Putin is a brutal and murderous dictator, and we will do whatever we need to do to stop him from infringing on vital United States interests." (i.e., with a hint that saving Ukraine, or all of Ukraine, may not be such an interest) But that's not what we get from Trump. We get "he's a very strong leader" or "very shrewd" or "hey, we've killed people too." I can't understand his refusal to say the obvious thing. Unless and until he does, the suspicion that there is some kind of weird Putin-Trump bond (and speculation on the reasons for that bond) will persist.
  17. Hmm, sounds like a fake bioscientist to me ...
  18. That obsession with the pipe bombs is just plain weird. Oh, how could we identify people in the broad light of day, with no face coverings, shouting/screaming/boasting online about storming into the Capitol yet not identify someone planting a pipe bomb in the middle of the night who was trying to conceal his/her identity?
  19. @Doc A practicing radiologist I believe. Real or fake doctor? @Joe Ferguson forever A retired physician, a David Brooks style Bobo (bohemian bourgeoisie) with good taste in music. Real or fake (retired) doctor? @NC Bills Fan A practicing bioscientist of some sort with appalling taste in music. Real or fake biologist? (Pretending to like that Rich Men North of Richmond thing?) @SoCal Deek Our former contributor, a retired Bobo architect, the last straight man in Palm Springs, with good taste in cars. Real or fake architect? @Chef Jim Our former contributor, gave up the chicken parm life for the "I'll take 1% of your net assets" life. Real chef or not? @The Frankish Reich Know-it-all aging lawyer and lower level Deep Stater. Real or fake lawyer? Let's get this settled once and for all. Add other suspect resume posters as you think of them.
  20. Pecan waffles. Layer of grease on the tables. Good eatin. Just don't go after dark.
  21. IIRC, he was supposed to be a retired chef getting into giving investment advice. But as I've learned, there's a lot of doubt around here about the alleged qualifications of certain posters. For all I know he was a Waffle House cook gambling his earned income tax credit on bitcoin.
  22. Wasn't that ketchup + relish back in the day? Or maybe mayo too? At any rate, it was gone by the time I was a little kid and I never saw it in a restaurant. Powerful reasoning skills: you are 72 years old.
  23. From the OP's embedded tweet: "Does anyone actually believe that Russia is being utilized by the Republicans?" Well, thanks for asking. Republican Comer's key witness against Joe Biden in the impeachment inquiry was Mr. Smirnov. Mr. Smirnov has now been indicted for providing false information, and in an official court filing the prosecutor cited the fact that Smirnov said that false information came from official Russian sources. So ... certainly Russia is utilizing the Republicans. The question is phrased in a deliberately confusing manner (watch for that passive voice!): "is Russia being utilized by the Republicans?" If they keep the "impeachment inquiry" going after this gut shot, the answer will be "yes."
  24. The John Oliver clip is funny. But as is all too often the case, his 15 minutes of picking apart how corrupt and compromised Clarence Thomas really is does a far better job than the mainstream media accounts. It's just a staggering record of taking huge gifts from powerful people who are very interested (in a financial sense) in the rulings of the Supreme Court.
