  1. Show me where I said he was the 4th best QB. As far as the one drive, I see you didn't mention the other three drives.1. EJ 6-9 76 yards, CJ 3 for -7, 2. EJ 3-3 64 yards, two point conv., CJ 2 for 6 yards, Fred 1 for 4 yards TD, 3. EJ 6-8 51 yards TD, CJ and Fred 0 for 0. Those three drives EJ 15-20 191 yards TD, two point conv., CJ 5 for -1 yards, Fred 1 for 4 yards TD. He accounted for all but 3 yards.
  2. I've watched it plenty of times. Again, your talking about a rookie QB in just his second game. Only 4 other QBs did what he did in the last 44 years
  3. My apologies. Your statements about EJ not being super or great in the Carolina game isn't supported in the stats or history. EJ was 27 for 39 296 yards 69.2 % 1 TD & 1 INT. That's damn good for your second game in the NFL against the #2 Defense. The Bills scored on 4 of 6 second half drives. Those drives netted 78, 80, 50, and 80 yards. The GW drive was 80 yards in 1:36 he must have done something right. He was only the fifth QB to engineer a fourth quarter drive in his first or second game since 1960. http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=330915002
  4. Did you just try to compare one of the best QBs ever with 15 years experience and better supporting cast with a rookie? That's like comparing LeBron James with Cody Zeller ( Cody was actually picked #4 ).Very weak argument.
  5. ALL ROOKIE QBs ARE INCONSISTENT.Besides Marino please name me which ones that were not. You said QB was the weakest position, LG was easily the weakest position with RT coming in second, I don't know what you were watching if you don't agree with this. I said out of all the years he played football one years a fluke, in which you replied ONE YEARS A FLUKE. Funny I didn't know EJ got drafted in the first round without ever playing, GOOD FOR HIM. Stat wise rushing offense beat out passing offense, rushing defense, passing defense, and special teams, so it was the best part of our team. As far as player additions being good enough we will have to wait and see. Last year looked very underwhelming, but turned out very good, I'll trust Whaley he's earned it. I'll always be optimistic, it beats everything else.
  6. Sorry was gone for the day. I changed it to Mr. Wawrow's article. Thanks
  7. Just saw this. Thoughts ? http://bigstory.ap.o...y-owner-90-days
  8. I don't know what will happen on the field this year, but I'm impressed so far with what has transpired off of it this offseason. But, hopefully it translates.
  9. Bill Polian stated if he didn't play the three technique he would be nearly as effective. But if he did he would be a perennial pro bowler.
  10. ESPN was talking about him today and Bill Polian said in the NFL he's going to needs to play the three technique in Tampa 2 defense. Bill also said Tampa and Dallas played it and one would probably draft him.
  11. Good for EJ, I'm a big fan, needed to put a lot of time in during the offseason. Nice to see this type of work ethic.
  12. I wouldn't go that far, but all 3 going in the top ten doesn't look nearly as likely as it once did.
  13. All's good. Must have mistaken what you were implying. I'm an EJ fan, but of course he need to improve if the Bills are going to make the playoffs. Which every Bills fan, those who think EJ has what it takes, those who don't, and those undecided, desperately wants, at this point in time.
  14. Absolutely, timing of routes, where and when the WR wants, especially with Stevie with the unorthodox way he runs routes(does what he has to not picking on him). Even strategy, as far as, if a CB does this, I'm going to break off the route and do that. All in all just get a better feel for each other, can't hurt the comradery amongst them either.
  15. No you used the range in the rating " Thanks for proving my point. Ratings ranging from 48 to 121 are not "consistent"., I was just showing other good QBs have the same. As far as EJ needing to be more consistent on the high end, how many rookies, going into his 2nd year, at any position, ever, don't need to be more consistent. Maybe a handful ? I was assuming that was a given.
  16. It's not all that matters on this team at this time IMO . This is an important step for him and the team. Not only did he partake in the offseason offensive workouts, he set it up and ran the show(he showed veteran leadership). There needs to be one voice in the huddle and the guys in the huddle be receptive to said voice. I believe this takes a big step towards that. It also can't hurt with timing of routes etc.
  17. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not happen. I really think the defense has gotten a lot of attention over the last few years, hopefully they use the 1st rounder and most of the picks, for that matter, on upgrading the offense(especially the o-line)
  18. Nice find Yolo, thanks for posting. Good to hear. Sounds like this year EJ is already taking more of a leadership role, now he's not a rook. I'm really pulling for him, he has so many good qualities you want in a QB and seems more mature than his years . I'm sure all this extra work with the WRs, TEs, and RBs will payoff come Sept. Good news !!!
  19. Well said, funny thing is, if I could get Freddie at the same starting age of all those RBs, I'd only take Thurman and OJ ahead of him. In all fairness, that excludes Cookie, I never saw him play.
  20. Listening to an interview with Buddy the consensus of the draft room was they, with confidence, could trade down to the middle of the 1st and still get EJ. He said he they were talking the possibility of a trade with St Louis a couple of days before the draft. Hard for you to make the statement you made without all the inside knowledge. So, if you can get another second rounder and get the QB you want, that means your not all in ? Low risk/High reward. He also said they had a couple more trade offers for the 16th pick, but no longer had the confidence they would still land EJ. To me it sounds smart/ to you it sounds like they were not all in on EJ.
  21. Very well said. I still want to know how the OP definitely knows Mathews is better, and good RTs are not a dime a dozen, that thinking needs to be and is being updated.
  22. For the most part the OP's statement are/were true regarding LT/RT. Unfortunately, it should have been written 8-10 years ago, maybe it could have coincided with the release of the movie Blind Side ? More recent thinking has defenses getting a 2nd top notch DE or switching a dominant DE around to attack weaker RTs. 4 tackles went in the top 11 last year and though some will be making a switch to LT in the future (Eric Fisher is this year) they all played RT last year. The thinking in the NFL is going in the direction that teams need a top notch LT and RT.
