  1. It's a solid move..... Not the big swing we were hoping for, but he'll help us.
  2. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Source: #Packers DB Rasul Douglas to the #Bills. Whelp......there's our move..... Spotrac @spotrac TRADE #Bills Acquire 5th Round Pick CB Rasul Douglas 2023: $838,235 2024: $9M (non-GTD) #Packers Acquire 3rd Round Pick
  3. How many followers does the account have? How long ago was it posted? I haven't seen anything recently.
  4. Tim Kawakami @timkawakami NFL source: 49ers are closing in on another trade. I don't know who it's for, but it seems likely they've got 1 more.
  5. Maybe he does believe that. Heck, there's a big part of me that believed that, especially at the time. But a lot of these teams making moves are making smart moves. They are trading for players that will help them now that, even if they don't re-sign in the off season, might net them a comp pick that will basically be for the same compensation they are giving up now for the rental. That's just smart business.
  6. The Eagles have the best GM in the league. I don't think it is debatable at this point. Beane is a good GM that never wants to take that big swing at the deadline.
  7. I hate twitter on days like today. Too many people are so quick to want to post any news they don't pay attention to the account and it's legitimacy. A good rule of thumb is that if an account has less than 5k followers, there is a chance that the source is not legit. If the account, especially claiming to be from a major outlet like ESPN, has less than 1k-2k, it is most definitely fake.
  8. I don't know how legit this is. Guy has less than 100 followers. Think it might be fake.
  9. I feel the same about this game as I did about the Miami game a few weeks ago. While interested to see what happens, I am not going to overreact to whatever does happen because there is a good chance that we see them again in the Playoffs when it matters most. Whether we win this game or lose this game, it isn't going to change anything about the way I feel about this season. Win be double digits? Great.....can we do it again when it actually matters. Lose by double digits? It's discouraging, but there's a good chance we see them again in the Playoffs and there is a lot of football to be played between now and then and it's likely that the teams that take the field Sunday night could be significantly different a couple months from now whether that is because of injuries or just how the teams are playing at that point. So yeah....I'm looking forward to the game for sure. I want to win badly. I always want to win. But if we don't, I'll be ready to take another swing at them in a couple months and try to end their season. I am sure a lot of their fans may be thinking similarly. It's a big game Sunday, but maybe not the biggest one they play this season.
  10. It probably would. Unfortunately, that is the cold side of the business in the the NFL. Tre was great for us. At one point, he was arguably the best in the league. But his body has betrayed him the last couple years and the reality is that there are very serious doubts whether he will ever be close to the player he was after these serious injuries. As GM, Beane has an obligation to look out for both the current and long term well being of this team. And if he can get Johnson, that would take care of both those things at one of the most important positions in football. And you know what? If you release Tre with a post June 1 and save that 10 mill, this is a move that makes a lot of sense financially as well. We could always monitor Tre's progress from injury down the road and maybe even look to bring him back on a cheaper contract if his market is soft after he's healthy. It's not likely that happens, but who knows....anyone he signs with will have the same questions about how well he will be able to play and if his body will hold up when he does get back out on the field.
  11. I want Beane to get this done. I don't think he probably will, but this is the type of player you make a big deal for. Super young, super talented at a premium position. You most likely will not get a talent this good in the late 20s or in the 30s of the draft. Do I want to give up a one? No, but it should be talked about. If I could get him for Elam, a 2, and maybe another late round pick, I do it in a heartbeat. If that isn't good enough, I might consider a 1 and more for the player and a pick coming back. This is not a rental situation. This is someone you are committing to for a long time and with his age, it is a lot easier to make a big contract work because you can stretch it out for so long. I'd love for this to happen, but huge deals for these young, great players don't happen a lot at the trade deadline. That said, if we don't get it done and someone else does for a fairly reasonable price, I will be pretty frustrated. Opportunities like this don't come around very often. Come on, Beane......make this happen. Take the swing and see if we can legitimately get back into the title picture this season.
  12. I don't..... Just making a point of how stupid they are.
  13. Anyone watching and even halfway knows what they are seeing will know that the offense was better yesterday than it has been the last few weeks. It was efficient and, for the most part, had Tampa on their heels all night until the 4th quarter where, for some reason, we decided we had enough points and a big enough lead to finish. That said, for as improved as it was, we probably should have put up close to 40. Dorsey getting stupid at the goal line. Allen just missing Davis on a deep post that may have gone for a TD. Add that to the lack of aggressiveness we showed later in the game and it's easy to see where, as good as we were, we should have been even better. I think they finally realize, though, that using an up tempi pace, 11 personnel and featuring guys like Kincaid and Shakir, all while throwing in some well timed Allen runs is the blueprint they need to use going forward. I am a firm believer in dictating to the defense what you want to do and not trying seeing what the defense is going to do an adjusting. Of course there is some of that, but pushing the issue with tempo and letting Allen loose opens the field up so much and makes things so much easier for everyone on offense. My biggest thing is that I do not trust the coaching staff to keep building on it. I mean, last week, we all thought that Dorsey learned his lesson about going to shotgun with inches to go.....but nope, there it was again with inches to go for a TD and Dorsey actively decided to make sure we didn't score. So, how can we trust this staff even with the most obvious of things? Guess we'll see.
  14. Without having a chance to go back and watch the All-22 yet, I will say that on first watch, I thought that this was his best game overall since he came back. Now, that is a fairly low bar to be honest, but for the first time in his limited snaps back he had a couple of effective rushes. Early in the game, and in games past this season, it almost looked like he was going through the motions which is honestly somewhat expected from a guy fresh off an ACL where it hasn't even been a full year since the injury that didn't have a camp or any practice time. But that last series with the game on the line, I thought he had some great rushes and was even held and tackled in the 2nd to last play which if called as it should have been, would have ended the game before the last play even happened. I get that people are getting a little impatient with Von because he hasn't magically come back to the dominant force he was last season for us, but I was very encouraged last night, particularly late in the game. He's getting closer. And you know what? It may take several more weeks before he is all the way back. But this is the guy we brought in to close out important games for us late in the season and in the Playoffs. And just like we want every other player on the team to be playing their best football in December, January, and February, the same goes for Von. The splash play is coming.....he's getting there. Just try and keep expectations where they should be for a 34 year old guy coming off a major injury with no camp and virtually no padded practices.
  15. In a game that is decided by inches, our coaching staff rather have give it to a RB several yards away. With a chance to really step on this team early, instead of using a play that has a 100% success rate when needing a yard or less (and having 2 chances if it would have been necessary), this coordinator decides that stepping back 6 yards and handing it off is a better way to go. And then, with Tampa scrambling and time running out, our head coach can't resist the urge to call defensive time outs to let the opponent regroup and get their best players some rest and their best play into the game. We have a coaching staff that refuses to do the easiest and most effective things. Yes, I got several things I wanted out of this game. An up tempo offense. Some Allen runs. Dalton Kincaid being used properly in the passing game. But for all the good things they finally figured out, they insist on taking steps backwards in other areas to make it so much harder than it needs to be. What should have been a 3 score win came down to a jump ball. And if the football doesn't turn invisible there on that last play, the stadium might be up in flames right now. This coaching staff is still holding this team back and it's hard to see this team winning anything big until they get out of their own way. This mini bye is much needed. This coaching staff really needs to look in the mirror and figure these basic things out.
  16. McDermott with a freaking horseshoe up his butt there. What should have been an absolute stomping with the way this was going, the coaching staff once again did everything they could to blow the game. This coaching staff is actively sabotaging this team. From Dorsey refusing to tush push with inches to go to McDermott calling terrible defensive time outs to help the other team, it is just embarrassing how bad these coaches are. The players have to see it.
  17. This is making me sick that it is even coming down to this.
  18. Von with a great rush there
  19. Ugh...... McDermott doing everything he can to lose this game.
  20. They're going to get a throw at this...... Garbage.
  21. Of course...... Can't finish the job.
  22. Ugh.....can never just make it easy on yourselves, can you?
  23. Get 5 more yards and enjoy the mini bye
  24. Thanks for blitzing there, Tampa. Made that an easy pitch and catch.
  25. We need 2 first downs........ This is where you have to let Allen do Allen things. Call the pass and let Allen make the right decision.
