  1. I expect this to be a low-scoring game and won by the better running team. Both defenses appear to be too strong to give up too many big plays downfield. I've stated this before, last year the Legion of Boom shut down Jimmy Graham twice in the same season. Gronkowski is a little different because of his physicality, but I expect Seattle's secondary (mainly Cam Chancellor) to be able to keep him in check throughout this game. If it comes down to running backs, Marshawn Lynch can break a game wide open with his ability to break off a long run. New England will probably load up the box and lean heavily on Revis and Browner to play man-to-man and not allow Russell Wilson to beat them through the air. If the game is close the 4th Qtr, my money is on Lynch and Wilson to make the clutch plays. Call it a hunch, but I trust Seattle to be the more dominant team on Sunday. The Patriots can move the ball well, but can they punch it in when they have red zone opportunities against Seattle's D? Or will they have to settle for FGs like Green Bay had to do, which will end up costing you. Both the Packers and Panthers couldn't sustain enough momentum in the second half. The crowd noise could be a big factor as well. We saw last year how the crowd noise for Seattle was able to affect Denver early on. It could be as loud, if not louder this year in Arizona.
  2. The NFL certainly got their hands on this alleged surveilance tape pretty quickly... Where was that hussle after the Ray Rice incident went down?
  3. I pray to God that this guy rats out Brady to the media. Finally some justice would be served
  4. Anyone who expects the NFL to hand down possible suspensions BEFORE the Super Bowl has to lower their expectations.
  5. I can't remember specifically which DB covered Jimmy Graham last year, but Seattle's secondary pretty much shut him down twice. I expect them to be all over Gronk throughout this game.
  6. This is what I now look forward to at the end of every season. These videos are hilarious!
  7. I don't watch much ESPN anymore so someone fill me in on what the NFL experts have been saying...
  8. Pro Bowl Skills Competition > Pro Bowl game
  9. I'd be surprised if this didn't blow over in a week. Reminds me of the deer antler spray controversy exactly two years ago right before the Super Bowl. Unless someone proves that the Patriots tampered with the game balls after halftime, this seems like the kind of story that reporters will hype up so they have something to cover leading up to the big game. Just my opinion.
  10. I have no idea who I will root for, I hate both of these teams. I guess I'll just have to tune in for the commercials.
  11. He was probably shouting and referring to himself in the third person like the Jimmy character from Seinfeld as they carried him out. "Dougie likes his chicken spicy!" "Get your hands off Dougie! DON'T TOUCH DOUGIE!"
  12. She was probably the last person to see Marrone as he was leaving the building. I can only imagine she's seen Marrone storm out of the building in anger on many occasions...
  13. It's just so nice to be talking about primetime games again...
  14. Couldn't agree more. Roman was the major architect behind Smith's success in 2011 and Kap's success in 2012 which got them all the way to the brink of a Super Bowl victory. He'll be a major upgrade over what we had previously.
  15. I'm surprised that Schwartz's name hasn't come up yet in other coaching vacancies, but I'm not going to complain. He had a tough job to do in Detroit and did pretty well in those first three years of guiding that team upwards. The job he's done in Buffalo speaks for itself. If he gets the job, I'm all for it.
  16. If the Bills decided to go with Schwartz as head coach, I would be pleased with Kyle coming over as offensive coordinator. In Buffalo, he would at least have the opportunity to start fresh and groom his own starting QB, whether it's EJ or whoever they bring in via trade/free agency. In Cleveland, he's basically stuck with that mess for another year. I don't put all the blame him for Manziel's rookie failures.
  17. I've read that it was more of the owner's decision to continue to play an injured RGIII and not necessarily Shanahan's.
  18. Kubiak was Shanahan's offensive coordinator in Denver for a long time and is now having some success this year in Baltimore. The one thing I feel about his tenure in Houston as head coach was that he hitched his wagon to Matt Schaub for seven years and didn't waver from him until it was far too late during last season. Schaub was always an above average QB (although Kubiak got him to perform at a Pro Bowl level at times) and certainly was not going to be able to lead that team very far in the playoffs. He took that team as far as it could go without having an elite QB under center. I'm not trying to defend him by saying that was the only reason he got fired from Houston. But I believe he had more success than people give him credit for. I like him a lot as an offensive coordinator. He's always used that zone blocking scheme to success and how many RBs have had 1,000+ yard seasons in DEN & HOU & BAL playing for him?... (T. Davis, M. Anderson, O. Gary, C. Portis, R. Droughns, S. Slaton, A. Foster, J. Forsett).
  19. Put me down as "on the fence" for now... I do believe that if there are few guys who could raise EJ's level of play at quarterback, Shanahan is probably one of those few. (See: Plummer, Cutler, RGIII).
  20. Mike Florio of PFT said that Marrone and Rex share the same agent and it's possible that the Jets could have contacted his agent after learning of his 3-day opt out clause to gauge his interest. Maybe Marrone thought he'd try and use that leverage for an extension. Hope he winds up in NY anyway.
