This is completely right. I think basically the moment he had Mike McCarthy run out of town (and to be clear he was right on McCarthy but the Packers allowed Aaron to politic behind the scenes and interfere in the decision) he got a sense that he was and should be bigger than the team.

The problem with the organisation is definitely Johnson. But Rodgers has detroyed this iteration of the team. It was a young energetic, excited and motivated group when he got there. And he has sapped that from them. He is a horrible leader. Rex will get an interview for that job after the year. I am convinced.

Oh I got that far...

The have two legit edge rushers. That is part of it. Quarterbacks rarely stay comfortable for long. But Josh played his worst half of the season in that game as well which was part of the story vs Buffalo.

We all know the main mistake they made yesterday was winning a game against an NFC team. Everyone is aware that reduces your playoff chances.
-
I have no idea what that means 😆

The defense has taken a significant step back this season, especially since they fired Saleh.

COOPER TROOPER!!! I literally only hear the clips they play out on the morning show of him calling the big plays and that makes my ears bleed. Three hours of that must be insufferable. Poor Eric Wood.

100% correct. If Drake Maye can play I expect the Pats to be relevant before either of them.

Week 8, Bills v. Seahawks, GAME BALLS!
GunnerBill replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Meh. I know the big man INT came on a blitz but it was one of only two that worked all day (the other was final drive, game over). Mainly we just give up chunks on them. I hate them. I think there is a lot of good in what Babich is trying to do this year, without a dominant pass rusher, with his top two linebackers out most of the year, with his two best players on defense - Oliver and Taron - both having missed time and with borderline NFL talents at safety. But I don't love his tendency for what I call a "frustration blitz". It was my least favourite thing about McDermott calling it last year too. We still are 3rd or 4th lowest blitz % in the league, which is encouraging. But in certain moments they are the thing most likely to make me curse during a game. -
putting it here, but just listening to last night's WGR post game show while I make breakfast and lord alive.... people started drinking early yesterday. Even by the normal standard it was bizzaro world.

The Jets two years ago were the team I was worried about. Nice collection of young talent, coach who they played hard for and still some cap space and draft capital to play with. They needed a Quarterback. But the one they traded for brought his oversized ego with him and has ruined the team.

Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
GunnerBill replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure, but for the many things people can say about Stef and criticise him for I don't think he has ever been a guy who plays for the money. I don't think that is his motivation. Getting out of Buffalo was certainly not about the money for him. If it is an ACL, and obviously I hope it isn't, the bigger question is how does that affect his already dminished speed and how much value does he have when he returns? 12,000 yards matters much more to Stef I think if it is an ACL that probably slides out of view somewhat. -
He was before my time but watching the clip of the Kelly touchdown he has the same trait that all old play by play guys seemed to have - he just says what he can see. It is the same with the great old soccer play by play guys over here. They didn't overcomplicate they described what was happening. I feel like both sides of the pond we have a generation of announcers constantly searching for the soundbite. The irony is the soundbites come naturally when you just do your job.

The moving him around more IS related to Cooper though. The spent the first 6 weeks just running Keon vertical outside almost every play because they didn't have anyone else to do it and that isn't his game. He isn't particularly good at it. They've had a ton of success the past couple of weeks using him in condensed formations and getting the ball in his hands. The contested catches are nice, but it is hard to make a living in the NFL doing just that. The Bills feeling like it doesn't HAVE to be Keon outside and down the field all the time has given them the freedom to get him the ball some other ways. The Cooper signing definitely has impacted that even if the impact is more indirect than direct.

One of the things that helped the Patriots out all those years was the other teams in the AFC East making dumb, short term, impatient decisions to try and close the gap that meant they were never truly able to build a consistent winner. Cetainly with the Jets and Dolphins the last few years history has repeated.

Can we now conclusively say that the problem the Jets have is Aaron Rodgers?

He made a great catch today ib the 2nd half. He is also showing some scramble drill chemistry with Josh. But they are using him much better too.

Gotta say though.... more of the flags they have thrown today have been genuine fouls than in the Jets game. It has been sloppy at times from both. -

He also had a chance ti get at least 2 more if he didnt get greedy for the big one and stayed straight ahead. In the game situation that is what he should have done. -

The Bills coaches have owned the Seahawks inexperienced staff. It has been a total mismatch coaching wise. -
