  1. There's road winners and road losers. In the NFL there's 8 teams who will bring a load of fans when they make your schedule. Some of those teams don't even have winning records this season. Then there's road losers (Chargers)- teams that regardless of record draw yawns nationwide. CU in Anaheim knucklehead!
  2. It won't bother me too much- seeing them play over the years to a half empty stadium in San Diego has been a good preview to what we can expect once they commit to coming up here to the LA area. At least it will put an AFC team back in town and give us the chance to watch teams like the Bills with established national fan bases. All those empty seats will have a positive effect on ticket prices too!
  3. Anaheim to begin talks with Chargers in February LA Daily News on Charger move to Anaheim

  5. Not sure whether the little lightning bolts or their baby blue throwbacks are exciting the loosely loafered in Anaheim, but the Chargers ownership has been trying to move the team north for the past 6 or 7 years. And in a grand display of the Charger lack of draw, the game this weekend has not sold out. Lack of box office on their part will almost surely end up forcing the Chargers to seek a larger population base. Chargers to Anaheim
  6. Are we playing the Colts again this weekend?
  7. Thanks for standing up for America Glen- God Bless you and your family, including those who brought you up with a strong compass. May your tour be a safe one. Check with Fezmid but if that fails PM me and I'll see that you get to finish out the season with game copies.
  8. And many struggle with you calling it "pop", but the reality is that Losman grew up in an area where the word "dude" is the single most common informal salutation for a male. In a lot of the Southwest it's even used for the ladies. As a 20 year resident of SoCal, I'd guess I now use "dude" a dozen or more times a day on average. And I only use "pop" to describe a soda when I'm consciously tyring to make a Western New York reference.
  9. Like my favorite lizard the Chuckawalla, our boy has on the same outerwear year-round with absolutely no deference paid to weather conditions outside of that once annual "shed" in the spring. I half expect to see a forked tounge licking air every time they show him on the sidelines ;-)
  10. Not at all. My understanding of the content of the meeting is that Fairchild's sideline play-calling was the main topic and that the higher-ups had decided they needed to direct him to try to play more into Losman's strengths. I think Marv may have eluded to the concept publicly during the week also.
  11. Like everything in management, questions about when to take a subordinate "to the woodshed" are handled differently by every manager. Some managers never do it. Over the next two weeks is when we'll really learn whether it made a difference- I don't imagine running AThomas into the middle of the Jaguar DLine is going to be a productive strategy. Reality dictates that we have to let Losman throw again Sunday.
  12. Keep in mind that during the week Fairchild was called into a meeting with Marv and The Lizard. He was told to cut all the deep drops and get some moving pockets for the kid to work out of-
  13. Seems to be a resurgance of bad temperaments in the middle of DLines league-wide these days. There was along period where the almost gentle giant TWashingtons/etc. were the rule, being overtaken today by what appears to be a 'roid angry bunch holding down the middle.
  14. What a difference between the "phantom sack" taken earlier this year by their golden boy against us (reminiscent of the "Crissie Everett" collapse that Jim Everett never shook off) and the disgusting approach taken by Pat's defenders like Richard Seymour kicking another player's face while on the ground, All-Time career leader in Personal Fouls Rodney Harrison or other Pat's attacks on HOFers. The boys up in NE might learn a lesson from watching a few episodes of "My Name is Earl".
  15. STRAIGHT outta Compton might have been our boy on the train to TJ ;-)
  16. Yep. His parents are both professionals who still llive in South Central along with other family members.
  17. I don't see that as very relevant- the truth is that Williams looked at the game as a chance to come back to show off his skillset, and Pennington didn't give him the chance. On the "experience" curve, this was a good day for our new RT IMO. I don't think anyhone would deny the confidence boost, and that alone can be a big help to any late pick or UFA getting their shot at the big time.
  18. First pick of the 2006 draft Mario Williams versus 7th rounder Terrence Pennington- That's usually a bad omen; congrats to the kid from Compton holding his own under circumstances that have typically been embarassing for many before him.
  19. I didn't know you kids were still doing The Drop!
  20. Enjoy your trip to Houston- bring us back a nice scalp.
  21. I thought he used the spelling "Monte" when he was with us. He wasn't a gifted linebacker, but he did bring a load by driving through his tackles. One of the better hitters ever in a Bill's uni at his size.
  22. Judgement of whether his MO is to play "through" the whistle or "past" the whistle is likely influenced by your history as a DB; or maybe mine as a WR ;-)
  23. Conrad Dobler surely had the rep. I saw a lot more of Harrison's career and have always considered him a piece of **** due to the BS he does after the whistle is blown, a "habit" that has made him the most penalized cheap shot artist of the modern game. The real question for me about his historical place among others at his position is this- would Rodney Harrison be as "effective" as he has been had he not been willing to ignore many of the whistles he's heard over the course of his career, leading to his historical lead among all NFL players at being flagged for personal foul calls?
  24. The doors are open about 9:15. See you there-
  25. As Bob suggests, just jump on the 60 in Moreno Valley going West and you'll have a chance to pick up the 10 West in Los Angeles. Take the Bundy exit North from the 10, it's the first exit after the 405. Go north 5 lights to Santa Monica Boulevard and go left. Busby's is at 3110 Santa Monica Blvd. If you plan to come to town tonight, call me at (310) 963-7640. Bob and I will be doing some "carousing" around the Westside today and tonight. If you come in the morning you want to give yourself about 75 minutes for the drive. Bob and I can hold seats for you- anyone else with you?
