Blank check for Lou Saban.

I hope to god we can run the ball on Miami when the time comes. They can't stop the Patriots even when they know they are running.

Miami folds again. Mario had 1 pressure. Send him to the ProBowl.

Blah blah wah wah. Tanking 2 games into the season is for losers. Welcome to loserville. No excuses dude. that is loser mentality at its finest. By your definition, the bills should just tank every year as soon as they lose 2 games and look like they aren't going to the Superbowl. Where do you people come from? Have you no pride at all? -

2 games in and you guys want to start losing on purpose. And you call yourselves fans? Gimme a break. -
Ref goes down... Commentator...."I don't want to speculate on what happened here"......"Let's see if he stays with us" "looks like his leg got caught in the turf" You can't make this stuff up.

Not knocking the idea of bringing in Polian or anybody else for that matter. I just like how all the fans throw money around like it is their money to spend. Why not offer him $100 million? Why only $50 mill. After all, its not your money. And let's bring Harbaugh in here for an even Billion. Someone in another thread said Pegula should offer him a blank check. What would Harbaugh write in there? one billion, one point five billion, Pegulas must really chuckle when they hear how other people want to spend their money like it is toilet paper.

Not what the post was about dude. But yeah, dream up whatever you want.

Sal blinks a lot when he is fibbing. I didn't see any blinks in his Tweets. And...Sal can't lie....He's probably Catholic. And Catholics never lie... well, except that one time, that one priest..... -

Sal Capaccio @SalSports 2m2 minutes ago There was no "secret" meeting between Bills owners and players. Ownership has met with (and often talk with) players before, did Fri morning Sal Capaccio @SalSports 1m1 minute ago ...many meetings and discussions going back to last season between Rex and owners, essentially. (2/2). Truth.... As predicted. Total trumped up media nonsense to create panic and news where none really exists. -

I disagree. As an owner of a business, any business - NFL or not, you are an idiot if you don't pay attention to what the guys in the trenches are thinking to the best of your ability. You don't turn a blind eye to all of your factory workers and just ask their boss to find out what is going on with "the guys". You go ask the guys if you want to know the truth without question. -

Explain the Whaley part please... I don't see the logical connection. You don't ask players about a game because you are questioning the GM. You do it to make sure the coach and the players' are aligned in their thinking. You do it to make sure you are getting the same explanations from both the coach and the players. To make sure the coach isn't trying to pull the wool over your eyes. I don't see how the GM ties in. -
Yes you are right. Much of the game the plays were coming in slow. They were very likely not scripted unless Roman truly was a bafoon. I was thinking more of how the game started. Like how previous coaches used to like to script the first drive, then just wing it after that.

Exactly. This story is much to do about nothing. It is pure media fantasy acting like there is a Category 5 hurricane coming ashore when we are just supposed to get a light rain. Oh my god. The world is ending. The owners asked some players why they think the team played the way they did. Oh dear lord noooooooooooooo! -
Depends on the coach I suppose and your definition of scripted. In that Baltimore game, it sure looked like there were a lot of scripted things happening out there - Like plays designed to go to a certain guy no matter what. It seems everybody on this board wants to just blame Tyrod for that when in fact we have no idea why he was doing that. Could it be that much more of Roman's game plan was scripted? Perhaps... The truth is I don't know and neither does anyone else who isn't part of the Bills organization somehow. All I know is that Tyrod wasn't playing like normal Tyrod in that game right from the very first play. Still don't know why.

The myth of supreme importance of coaching stability
PolishDave replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did finish reading it dude. And I get the point you were trying to make. But what you said there is that good coaches make adjustments for each game depending on the team. Of course they do. Every team does. Some are good at it - like the Patriots. Some suck at it. And many, many of them - over think it. You are acting like the Patriots present a completely different team each week which is actually total B.S. You misinterpreted what the Miami coach was trying to say. The Patriots have been making hay with the same plays on offense for many, many years now. In fact, the difference between the Patriots and a lot of other teams' offenses is that the Patriots execute many of the same plays over and over and over again with precision. If you have watched them over the years then you must have already seen this. It is pretty obvious. They are just damn good at executing a core suite of plays. And teams can't stop them from doing it. That is how they succeed. They don't come out and play a different game every week. That is nonsense. In fact, what you are describing as "what good teams should be doing" are what it seems like the Bills try to do every week. They try to throw new strategies out there hoping they will work instead of focusing on a core suite of things they do very well. That is why the Bills are so damn unpredictable and you never know what you are going to get. -
Remember that scripted plays/series are also a great way to get quarterbacks to miss wide open receivers on the first play of the game if you are a Nazi about scripting them.

Could have been any one of the offensive players they interviewed. Who knows? I think the only reason this is a story is because of the suspicion already out there. If I am an owner, I would be interviewing my guys all the time trying to keep my finger on the pulse of what is going on with the team. I'm not going to just sit back in the owner's box and wonder - "gee I wonder if my team is going to be any good today or not" I would be learning everything I can about what is going on - After all, I just invested a billion and a half in the team. I bet a lot of owners talk to players the day after games all the time. I would think this is completely normal. Its just a story today because of the conspiracies out there. -

PolishDave replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stopped right after you used the Patriots as your example when in fact the Patriots have been pretty stable at head coach for a while now - haven't they? Poor choice of examples to try and make your point with. You shot yourself in the foot there. -
To be any good TT has to make plays with his legs
PolishDave replied to ....lybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are right about him making plays with his legs but not so much about him running for first downs 6-8 times a game. The kinds of plays I want to see Tyrod make with his legs are scrambling to avoid a sack and buy an extra 2 seconds in the backfield so that he can find a receiver for those deep balls like we saw twice in the Jet's game. That is a rare talent that would make this team way, way, way better on offense if the offense was designed to include more of those plays. And yes I want him scrambling for first downs too when the opportunity presents itself. But I don't need him to do that 6-8 times a game. once or twice a game is enough for me. -
I hated getting rid of Chan. I think he was the one coach we had who finally learned how to play against the Patriots so you could beat them. And right after he got to the point where I felt like "yes..now I think this guy gets it" he got shitcanned. I really wish we could have / would have kept him longer and found a way to make that defense at least average.
