This is exactly why I think Rivers is the pick. What scares me though is that I think we have to get in front of New Orleans to get him. I like the top-15 cutoff that you are using here because it seems that of the posts I've read, the consensus of posters wants the Bill's Brass to trade down... just not too far down so we can still grab the consensus WR of our choosing. Yeah... OK, take another toke... The way I see it going down is that they draft defense in the first round, trade up in the second (swap seconds and throw in the fifth or something) and grab the highest rated WR they have on their board.

I get everything you are saying, I really do... I'm not saying that they are going to ignore the need for a WR on day 1 and grab the next Marques Colston on day two. I just don't see them going WR at 11. With regards to Schonert - is there a true FB on the roster yet? Or is there and I missed something? Don't get me wrong because I'm stoked about Schonert, I just think it's premature to worry about where the offense is now, and where it is going under Schonert's leadership. I think day one is going to be Rivers and Doucet (trade up).

All I'm saying is that one of the guys with a first round grade is sure to fall to the Bills in the second round. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade back into the first to grab a receiver they really like, I just don't think they are going to go WR at 11. I think they will grab the best defensive playmaker on their board at 11, and grab a WR later. The defense is closer than the offense is and I think that by strengthening the D the offense will have shorter fields, hopefully more possessions (takeaways by D), and a lower opposing point total to deal with.

Count me in as one of the mongoloids (man, I haven't heard that word since second grade - I like it). If the Bills stay at 11, the pick is Rivers. If they trade down to fulfill everyone's wet dreams around here then the pick is Connor. Who knows which of these two the front office covets, but my gut feeling is that they are going to draft one of them. With Crowell playing like he has been, it's an ideal situation to draft a better player and not expect him to come in and make an immediate (week 1) impact, but expect him to finish out the season as the starter. Crowell will be good depth. Round two they take the best TE or WR they have on their board.
