Good.  Because Josh will not let up untill he proves everyone wrong.

I'm fairly certain when he busted his shoulder up in his first year in Wyoming they took the chip from his shoulder and surgically implanted it in him, so it's not going away untill every doubter pays either physically, emotionally, or monetarily.

The dude is still pissed about being a zero star recruit out of high school, and wont rest till he gets his revenge.

I'm going to apologize in advance because my inner nerd is coming out 😂. This reminds me of a Raymond Feist series that I read that started off with Magician Apprentice and Magician Master. At the End of Magician Master (I'm assuming you have not read these) the main character Pug after being told and treated throughout the book like he is so lowly and unimportant that he will amount to nothing  is so disgusted and angered by what he is seeing take place that he literally cracks open the planet with his magical powers.

JA's been told throughout HS and college he was never going to be good enough, never be accurate enough. It, as you said; pissed him off enough to light a fire in his belly to work his ass off and now, he's lit the whole NFL on fire and is going to burn the whole f'ing thing to the ground if he has to to prove everyone of those nah sayer's wrong

Though Sci-Fi Fantasy is not everyone's "cup of tea", if you haven't read these two books, they are a great read.

One has to wonder if this visit has to do with something like Josh Allen’s voice in the organization pulling some weight.

IE “Beane we need to bring in my old teammate for a look. He could add to us”.

I just don't see Josh as a guy who would do that (use is "clout" to push for a specific player). That's just not who he is, at least in my opinion he's not "that kind of guy". That's more of a "Marcia" Brady or Troy Aikman move because they're a-holes. I would have to go with @buffaloboyinATL's take on this (see below)  and say it's more of Bean giving courtesy to Josh by looking at a former teammate that he has had chemistry with for a 'as seamless possible" transition in the game dealing with the loss of Beasley if it comes down to that.

    30 Bills

    24 Fish

Similar, I do us taking some type of lead, and they bring in Fitz.  Lots of field goals in the second half.  I can see as they’ve done a couple of times just pounding that ball with one of the guys.  I do predict they will choose one, meaning Moss or Motor, but the other won’t even suit up.  I see Yeldon getting a lot of action.  I bet it’s Moss.  We’ll probably see a lot of Davis, McKenzie, and the TE’s.  It’s still uncertain on Brown, but hopefully he gets some plays to knock the rust off.

I think Yeldon is still on the Reserve \ COVID list.... isn't he?

Yeah the TD drop was disappointing, but he made at least two very tough catches later in the game

Exactly! Yes, he dropped a sure thing TD pass. All of them do at times through out their career. He more than made up for it the rest of the game with some clutch catches that were pretty nice. Especially the sideline catch where he dragged his feet to stay inbounds.

Allen plays well these next two weeks (now that they will have to play week 17). I personally thinks he locks up the MVP.

    14 hours ago, MasterStrategist said:

Agree. I would think 8 total tds would almost surefire Josh as the MVP...min of 4.  Allen with 38, prior to MNF, Mahomes with 40 after today.

mahomes has about 800 yards on Josh, which is why I think he needs to surpass Mahomes by at least 2-3 tds.  Also Mahomes with fewer turnovers, albeit some fortunate as mentioned.

Given Mahomes notoriety and Chiefs record, it will be tough but doable.

He definitely will have to continue to play like he has in these last two games to have a chance and I think that it will certainly help his cause to surpass Mahomes by a few touchdowns. Personally, I think he has already earned it. He is definitely the most improved QB over last year increasing his completion percentage by nearly 10 points, increased his accuracy; especially with his long ball, had fewer interceptions, more passing touchdowns from last year, more passing yards from last year, not to mention waaaay better pocket presence.

All that said, I still don't think they will give it to him. The entire league is Mahomes happy right now, they have been since he started playing. Don't get me wrong, he is an outstanding player and will probably if he continues to play in the prolific manner that he has; will one day be in the HOF, but I don't think that he is this years MVP and it's not even close in my eyes.

Call me a cynic but I think it's the "stigma" of him playing in Buffalo. I think the league hates it when any small market team not named Green Bay Packers have strong tough teams that compete and beat larger market teams. Or worse yet have elite players that they can't just ignore.

I can't readily dismiss Smith-Schyster's logo dance as not furthering the Bills desire to put a beat down on the Steelers.

Contrary to Tomlin vowing he was not aware of the pregame stunt, I'm sure Bills players were.

.....that's an attitude I like to see.

Based on the video of the team coming together in the tunnel for JA's pregame speech I'd say you're 100% correct that they knew about it. As for Tomlin, that POS can vow all he wants that he didn't know about it but Ju Ju does that at EVERY road game. There is no way he's not "aware" of it. I know it, I know you know it.... and i know all of Bills nation knows it.

C'mon. He has seriously lost a step. Did anyone else catch when he was comparing the current Bills to when they had Brady? He thought he was covering the Patriots! Easy mistake for an old guy I guess because the red uniforms do kind of look like the old Pats uniforms. He is also taking over for Joe Thiesmann. I used to tell him to shut up constantly too.

I'm not sure you actually understood his comparison. When he was making that reference, he was comparing JA and Beasley with how Brady always had his over the top receiver (Diggs or Brown for JA) but always had an underneath receiver that was always open for him like Beasley is for Josh. while I am not a Chris Collinsworth fan... he is annoying to listen to because 9 times out of 10 he's always talking about a supposed "special" player like he gets to suck him off after the game if he talks him up enough; he wasn't half bad last night.

This. I used to cringe when it was 3rd and medium or longer. Now its just another play.

I was thinking the same thing last night during the game. They took the offensive holding penalty that put them at 2nd and 18. I was thinking even then, no problem, JA can get that in one toss if he needs to. They ended up getting 9 I think and making it 3rd and 9 which was manageable. Even the few occurrences where they have been at 3rd and 15 or more, I don't "worry" like I use to when it was darn near impossible for them to pick up that first down. Like you said.... now it's just another down and distance.

On personnel I agree with you. And so does Brandon Beane. He admitted it himself in January that he did a "horrible job" with offensive personnel in 2018 and that while 2019 was better he still "needed to do a better job of giving Josh pieces." Stefon Diggs changes so much about the offense. That is what true #1 receivers do. They make everyone else's job easier. But the reason we didn't have the 300 yard games wasn't because we weren't aggressive. It was because our personnel wasn't up to it and Josh remained a work in progress. Josh was not capable of being who he is today right off the campus at Wyoming. He has developed brilliantly and to just say "ah well that has nothing to do with coaching" is nonsensical.

BINGO!!! We have a winner. This is the best worded concise answers that I have seen that explains how this team was developed the past 3 seasons.

  10. 2 minutes ago, Stank_Nasty said:

again i disagree. if you watched him over the last 2 seasons its evident.

You said he'll have a career in the pocket before his legs gave out in response to my comment that i don't think he will become a prototypical pocket passer. You said career.... last time I checked 2 years in the league does not make for a career. So yeah.... only time will tell.

  11. 1 minute ago, Stank_Nasty said:

100% disagree with the Jackson comparison when it comes to murray. Murray is a much better thrower of the football. He'll have a career in the pocket by the time his legs give out.

Well.... If I'm wrong I'll admit it. Only time will tell. 🤷‍♂️

  12. 3 minutes ago, Vontel said:

If you have watched Murray outside of last weeks game, you would realize he is the best QB at avoiding hits. His frame actually helps him considering he knows not to run through defenders like Josh, Cam, Wentz, Watson, Lamar, Dak, etc. He’ll be in the league for a very long time.

Understood, but it's football, he's going to get hit and sometimes he's going to get hit hard. You can't always avoid hits.

Kyler is pretty good. Don't think he's as good as Allen but to each their own.

I agree... he's good. Maybe even slightly above average. But, unlike JA I don't see Murray as someone that can become a complete pocket passer. To me Murray is Lamar Jackson 2.0, who was a Michael Vick 2.0; Murray is just a bit smaller. Once they figure him out, he will regress like Lamar has. Don't get me wrong, Lamar still plays at a high level but teams are understanding his game more and are able to defend him better and they will with Murray too. If you look at Jacksons stats, he has 7 less touchdowns to only 2 less picks than Josh. (JA 21 TDs to 7 INT's and Jackson has 14 TD's to 5 INT's) Not to mention Jackson also only has 3 rushing TD's to Josh's 5.

Josh on the other hand can be and is a complete pocket passer. He has pocket presence and awareness; sheds tackles and also has the escape-ability when needed to extend plays. I don't see Lamar or Kyler being able to become that prototypical "pocket" passer and personally, I think because of their size (more so with Kyler than Lamar) I don't think they have the durability to last beyond 5 maybe 6 years in the NFL.

I only listened to the Allen part and it was very fair.

As for Murray, outside the Hail Mary, I thought his best quality is his elusiveness.  Thought his passing was so so at best.

My concern(minor) with Allen is that he does seem a little hesitant of late and not as freewheeling as before.

I don't think he's hesitant at all. I think he's trying to focus on his reads and getting the ball down field and trying to run it himself on only the designed plays for him to do that.

Are we in cap trouble?  We don't even know what the cap is for next year.  And if its as low as some suspect, we aren't in nearly as bad a spot as other teams.  Also - if cap is super low, free agents will get massively underpaid - especially non-cap casualties since picks will be even more of a premium.

If space is needed - you can release:

John Brown - 8ish million savings

Butler - almost 7 million savings

    Smith - 2 1/4 savings

Losing those 3 players would save almost 20 million.

Release John Brown! Are you daft or just high on cocaine? The entire offence doesn't even work without Smoke in the lineup. That's been proven already when he missed games. And as another said, Davis is not up to the challenge yet in replacing him. There are better ways in making cap space assuming we even need to.

not looking too good for Matt Milano

That REALLY sucks. I think that dude is the heart of that defense. I noticed Micha is still in concussion protocol so i doubt that bodes well. If they both are out that really hurts our chances. I noticed that Brown was was listed as a DNP with a knee. does you or anyone know if that was just a veteran rest day or is he still actually injured? Our offense is no where near the same when he is not out on the field with Diggs.

I've played enough touch football to know - that was a very catchable ball.  Same with the knox one.  Same with the diggs one.  The roberts one seemed to go right through his hands and into his shoulder pad.

I don't know why but I just laughed uncontrollably when I read the beginning. I mean, you're not wrong that it was catchable, and I certainly played my fair share of touch and even tackle football in my youth, but I just found the context and the actual words typed hysterical. Probably because of the comparison of touch football to NFL football, but I know thats not what you were really conveying. Sorry.... i just found it funny and I'm still giggling at this very second as i finish typing this.

Easy, at this point in a team rebuild, with supposedly the true franchise QB, the team should be taking that next step, you know, like other teams have done countless times, stepping up and winning important prime time games, playoff games, super bowls, etc. Instead, the D has gone from 2nd to high 20's ensuring this team stays where they have always been.

They just can't put it all together...

Who the hell are you and where the f*&k do you get off making such assessments on a franchise QB's status of progression? Did YOU play or coach in the NFL? I seriously doubt it. The last time i check JA is a human being and not a perfect one and just like anyone else, he is going to have off days or just bad days. Especially being in his third season. If you want to complain about the "state of our team" then GTFO the train and go watch some figure skating.

Josh Allen is different than all the others, for the first time it legitimately feels like we have a long term franchise QB. For me it sank in when Chad Kelly was released and I did not even think we should sign him.  We’ve spent 25 years hoping that with just might luck in to finding a gold brick in a junkyard that the next dude we bring in might just be the answer.  So every time some interesting guy became available I’d think maybe he could be that secret treasure, now I do t think that way, we already struck it rich. Go Bills

For me it was last year. The Vikings, Patriots and Dallas games most of all, but the whole season showed him developing throughout it.

As a side note, you lose all credibility as soon as you mention your early desires for Chad Kelly. That dude has been a train wreck since the get go.
