  1. The biggest issue with the CFP is they change the criteria after they select who they want. One year only conference champs, then later it is " best resume", last year it was " 4 best teams". If they simply laid out the requirements the lesser teams wpuld change to try and help their cause. In the basketball at least they lay out what they choose based on- i do not agree with all the criteria but at least i know.

He has now admitted he has violated the terms of his reinstatement---leaving aside, if you can, the fact that he still beats his son.

    He is no man.

Will we here from the owners about this or are they still worried about the National Anthem?

This is the worst human in the NFL right now.  He needs sock full of doorknobs therapy.

My only issue with your statement is you are calling him horrible for what might be a quick swat on the butt. I understand 25 years ago there were more problems with children being disciplined too much but now i see more issues with parents not disciplining.

Eh, I don't think spanking works either. I have two young kids and we have tried spanking and we have tried time outs. Both seem to just antagonize them and make them afraid / angry at us. They don't really learn a lesson.

The thing that works best for us is removing the kid from the situation and sitting down with them and talking with them (kind of like what we do when we have conflicts with adults).

First off you sound like a good parent- you determined what works based on your individual kids. I will assure you though the few times i got spanked as a kid made an impact on me.

Its fun to think that if the Bills can beat the Jags, Fins, and Jets (Certainly possible) the Bills will be sitting at 6-7 going against a beatable Lions team. But I think the Bills are going to have to win out in order to make the playoffs. That would knock the Fins out and the Bills would have to hope they get lucky with the Colts and Ravens going 3-3 or worse to end the season. But I just don't see it happening if they even just lose to the Pats.

I am certainly not betting on Bills making run even if given 1000-1 odds- i am simply old enough to remember odd things happening. I was reminded today that in 2004 we were 3-6 and ran the table until the last day and were beat by Pitts backups.

The Chargers should at least get to 10 wins, which means they will occupy the 5th seed. For the 6th seed I think you have to ask yourself the question will either the Titans, Colts, Ravens, Fins or Bengals get to 9 wins? I think one of those 5 teams will go 4-2 to end the season and get to 9 wins. The Bills aren't making it at 8-8.

Most likely you are correct but this is a funny league and i have seen some odd things happen- including a bills coach say neither team that played that day had a shot at the playoffs and then the team that beat us did make the playoffs.

No QB- no success in todays NFL. They have grossly mismanaged the QB position. If they were smart, Beane will pick another qb in next years draft!

Allen is a high ceiling guy in the future but he was not polished coming in, to make a determination now is the definition of shortsighted. The vast majority of players take more than 4 games to get good-some take years so maybe slow the firing squad.

  6. When you have about 1/3 of your total salary cap in dudes who dont play for you anymore then it will be a long season. In order for the Bills to be competitive week in and week out they would need everyone to outplay their contracts- the issue i have with the way the bills cut everyone is that we will have restart next year with a lot of new players and the NFL does best with continuity.

  7. I have not watched any game live this year, except for my brothers bday because he asked me to with him, because i knew this team would be frustrating to watch and we would likely be at 5 wins all year. I expect big progressions next but can not spend my emotional capital on a rebuilding year. This team will be better next year- i bet 10 wins- but right now i am expecring poor play overall.

Players need to stay out of the stands.

In NE, he deserved it. Imagine if that happened in OP. Hill probably would have been knocked out and choked.

Fans have to defend their turf.

Opposing fans need to be wary of potential dangers attending a game on the road.

Never go into a portapoty, Never walk alone and never brag if your team wins.

Bringing attention to yourself could cause cause serious personal injury and it’s just not worth it.

I agree with most of your points but fans do not need to defend their turf and fans should not attack players even if they go into stands.

  9. I think the NFL will allow the London franchise to have a bump in the salary cap to entice them to go if the franchise initially has problems getting players to go to London. I though do think that many players would love the idea of going overseas to play for a similar salary after taxes especially considering the potential for endorsements if they get good. If the NFL does move the franchise it will be as important the Cowboys in that the NFL needs it work and become an icon brand.

Woods was the Bills only miscalculation of the receivers. He was always an above average, reliable receiver. He was not elite, but he was above average and consistent. Also he was an excellent blocker on plays he was not the schemed receiver in. He helped out the O-line and made them look better on running plays. And he spent a season playing injured and still was above average that year. The Bills just were possessed by the ghost of Ralph Wilson and did not want to pay the going rate to keep him here.

I agree with what you are saying but i do think that the money he got to go to LA was more than he was worth to us with our running focused game. But for the OP to say sammy got good after leaving is just stupid- he is on pace in a high flying offense to be worse than he was when he was healthy here.

The defense is solid. The offense, from top to bottom, is one of the least talented I ever remember watching. If not for McCoy, who doesn't seem to be quite up to his dominant level, I would say it is absolute bottom of the barrel.

Agreed on both- but near the bottom offensively is not same as being the bottom and our D is quite good- basically we are a 4-12 talent that will get to 7-9 due to good coaching.

He was a 230 lb defensive end in Temple's 4 man front. He has some nice pass rush ability but is undersized as a 3-4 OLB or DE so I think inside in a 3-4 is where his versatility will play. A poor man's Ryan Shazier.

Has arizona changed there scheme since he was drafted? He always seemed like a guy who would fit a pretty specific role to me.( i only saw him in college a few times)

Seriously.  This roster is ****.  We are in full rebuild mode.  Last year too essentially.  Yet this team wins games.

Give this guy some actual talent and we will be a very good team.

Yes.  He has some issues.  And yes he shouldn't have anything to do with talent selection but he can coach.

He adjusts.  Doesn't yet mid game very well.  But game to game he fixes stuff.  Just as he did last year.

This team should rival the 0 and 16 browns last year yet here we are 2-3 with a green rookie QB a ****ty oline and no wrs.  He deserves some credit.

Not to argue your overall point but the talent on this team is better than many give it credit for- we are below nfl average talent overall but not 2008 lion bad.

I know, the mods will probably end this thread because they think it's a joke, but hear me out: possibly the lone positive thing Bill's fans can agree on about Whaley's tenure was that he was an ace at reclamation projects, pulling guys like Jerry Hughes into the fold for duds like Kelvin Sheppard, just to name one.

Should the Bills bring back Whaley, just as a pro scout? I bet he would work for cheap, too. Hairbrained plot, or stroke of genius? You tell me.

DW wpuld come back for any reason because of the way he was pushed out but if he wpuld take that position i would give it to him in a heartbeat.

Riveron is the nfls puppet.  After watching these ridiculous calls week after week....calls in which are so blatant and obvious....one can only come to the conclusion that the NFL is getting exactly what they want out of riveron.  A puppet.

I wish i could argue with you but after last year the fact he still has same position tells me they are ok with his absurd rulings. I read that this year he would only overturn obvious mistakes and yet here we are again. I am watching much more college this year since i do not understand basic concepts in the NFL anymore based on his rulings.

Criticizing Star for not making tackles is indeed misunderstanding his role. His job is to occupy a guard and a tackle and that's it. If he's not doing that it's a problem. Space eaters take a lot of heat from fans. Leonard Williams was regarded by many as the best player in his draft class. The Jets were so lucky he fell to them etc...In the Jets D his job is pretty much the same as Star's with the Bills. Many there now hate him because he's not making tackles/ getting sacks. There's a lot of doubt about whether the team will even exercise his fifth year option. At least the Bills have a good pash rushing DE to benefit from Star's work. The Jets don't have that.

if Williams hits the FA market it will be interesting to see whether he lands a generous contract, and/ or whether his new team changes his role and assignments.

You point out something that might be lost without a big picture perspective- hughes is worthless if they can regularly double team him. Star is useful in making others around him have one on one matchups but if they do not win one on one then he is useless.
