Pitiful OL performance all pre season. After a season of varied results, mostly bolstered by the performance of the left side of the line.
I think the larger gripe is that the FO has literally been preaching for us to trust them. Now 15 months into the job, we are seeing the results of their trust. They lost 2 pro bowl lineman, with a terrible right side, and traded away another talented (albeit injured) LT, and made no real attempt to fortify those positions, we should “trust” them.
Since Beane took over, virtually EVERY SINGLE position on this roster is worse than the day he started. In 15 months it’s not crazy for us to expect some position to be better. Allen might be the guy. MIGHT. Which is fine, swing for your QB, but you can get better elsewear. Same with Edmunds. He might be better than Preston Brown, but he’s leading a LB corps that is under performaing last years group.
QB- Worse (today)
RB- Same. Although Murphy looks good.
FB- Same
WR1- Same (not good enough)
WR2- Same (Zay- not good enough)
TE- Same
LT- Same
LG- Worse
C- Worse
RG- Same (bad)
RT- Same (bad)
LDE- Same
DT- Same
DT- Worse (sorry Dareus is better)
RDE- Same (until Trent proves otherwise/healthy and currently not good enough)
OLB-Same (not god enough)
MLB-Same (that’s being generous)
OLB- Same (not good enough)
CB1- Same
CB2- Worse
Safeties- Same
CB3- Worse
I agree many have not been improved as far as talent but dareus was lazy as all get out. He could dominate when he chose but he chose not to care more often. But i thought beane brought in our secondary? Maybe my timeline is messed up but he brought in safeties and i also think taylor was maxed out- he would turn us into first round playoff losers. I have been that fan in other sports not fun.

I would be shocked if we were the worst team in league this year but this dude clearly watched one preseason game and made a large statement based on it. We looked like horse crap and he saw it and ran with it.
-
I am glad my job does not rely on analyzing a preseason game where i am not sure what is being expected of the line or qb or recievers. Ohara might suck but he is being told to make an opinion based on nothing. Espn has turned into this and it is why i have not watched anything on espn or foxsports except live sports in at least a year.

Also in his other starts he just looked like Jeff Tuel to me.
1/3 with pick v Jacksonville
One thing is for certain, if he plays, they need to remove deep outs and swing passes from the playbook.
Hes almost been picked on that throw throw three times this preseason. Also one of his 5 v San Diego and once v Jax.
I like him him a lot. His arm, I kind of hate it
Using jax as a reason to complain is not fair since everyone knew they were only throwing and had to push it. I agree that the team best run mainly but give a young dude a chance.

Thats what I saw too. O line is horrid.
Nope- peterman would’ve thrown 3 picks.
The hatred on here for peterman is sad and shows a complete ignorance of understanding of the development of some qbs. NP is not likely to set the football world on fire but i doubt any qb would have done well behind that line and even more importantly it was one game- many qbs have had horrible games and bounced back. If he comes out and is awful again i will want him benched but this hatred based on one horrible game where his line was pathetic is out of line.

Just said the same thing in a different thread and used the word Abysmal to do it.....
Are you my brother?
I will count you as family if you went to Fredonia

Why would you even say that?
Listen i am still blamed by my brothers for us losing the first super bowl so if you blame me for this it will not really matter

I was actually impressed(no sarcasm) with the way they got into the defense when we ran it. I though did not miss how incompetent they all seemed when it was a passing down. I know the process is different but I am shocked at how one version they are good and the other they are abysmal. If it was reversed I would have hope because JA could start and get the defense to give some space.
-
highly unlikely-we are not nearly that bad but I would think 3-5 is likely so if Shady goes down and a few bad breaks in the "games we should win" and 0-8 is certainly possible.
-
My short version is this: JA was pretty bad today and looked like a rookie who will need time but with that Line he has no chance to catch up to the speed of the NFL. Give him a chance when the line has improved. Also I truly think that NP will give us more wins THIS year.

Ive changed my mind a few times over the past month, but I think they go with Peterman Week 1..
Im not down on Allen at all, and think that his play his preseason has been above my expectations, but I don't see what putting him out there to cop a beating for the first month or so will achieve...
Hopefully the OL looks a bit better around Week 7 or so and you can bring him in then for the rest of the year...
Mostly agree but i do not think this line will improve in the pass blocking. I think we have a bunch of maulers who love smashing a defensive player but who can not back pedal and plant properly. I fear for a qb who can get get to the line of scrimmage and decide where ball is going before snap 90% of time. Peterman is right now a better fit for the talent on this team.
-
I thought i would be blasted for stating that peterman should start due to this line being so bad. I am not even close to being first

Be prepared for the Bills having these types of “fans” when they win the Bowl in 2020.
Success breeds the bandwagon.
NO that will be completely different-just cause I said so.

You are compleltly correct.
IMO. I have always believed baseball analytics are much more accurate as baseball is such a one on one sport with much better data to dissect and less of a team sport as most of the action involves one player doing something without much teamwork involved.
Football has such a poetry of motion on every play it has way too many variables to be as accurate with any analytics as baseball can be. The A's I think have proven this for years.
I like what I see. My eyes have never lied to me.
I think this is the first time i have agreed fully with someone on here- i am now certain we must be wrong.

The Patriots dynasty took the air out of a lot of NFL fans. Even if people don't admit it, deep down they know a lot of Pats games in particular are fixed somehow. The game is softer than it ever was, and the pregame shows are just trash with zero insight, personal stories nobody cares about, talking over each other, and fake laughter. I get excited in the offseason but I lose a lot of my passion during the season when I see how much the refs can control the game with subjective holding and PI calls, and now defensive hits. The joy and excitement isn't there anymore, at least not like it used to be. Sunday used to be like Christmas morning, not anymore.
I would not say just the pats* but the overall feel that so many calls from officials are made based on preconcieved notions. Combined with rules that do not make sense the game is less fun then 10 years ago.

As posted previously in post there is a huge misconceptions about analytics- all the numbers say is that this guy has the best chance of success based on his numbers. It is not stating who is better because numbers only cover so much of a person. Also reading the numbers is not as easy as many think or the baseball A's would never be in the playoff hunt.

Funny stuff- except for winslow- and it is amazing to me that there are so many others from other sports i go to in real life. My other sport favorite is AI "practice" diatribe.

Two points- several dems spoke of impeachment this week- though most are the left wing loony type. Second i am interested in how Cohen comes out of this and what exactly he is saying. Cohen s lawyer can run his mouth but until it comes from Cohen i will take everything with a grain of salt after dealing with lawyers often in my former job.

WR Order week 1 will be IMO:
KB
Streater
Holmes
Zay
Coleman
Ray Ray
Kerley/Foster
I fully expect early in the season that both Zay and Coleman will have shots to move up the depth chart, but due to both not being here for OTA's and most of camp, that Streater and Holmes could be listed ahead of them week 1.
I expect that Holmes will be the guy who drops, but I think Streater is going to be hard to knock down, he's been very good again and I think he right now has earned starting spot IMO until someone like Zay or Coleman put more work in and earn the right to challenge for that spot.
1-6 i agree with with the limited amount i jabe seen but i do not see any version of this where foster makes team- he might be PS but i would be shocked if he makes 53

Cuba has quite a number good kickers and better literacy rate than colleges in Alabama so more likely there.
Unfortunately North Cuba (Florida) cannot say the same.
This comment makes no sense to anyone aware of what has happened over the past 25 years- florida schools( both high school and colleges) are scoring higher than new york in almost every important metric. Also anyone who deals with cubans knows that the literacy rate is a lie. Having 95 % of the people with a second grade literacy is not impressive. Lastly before i am accused of racism it is not the people but the government.

I would agree to shorten to two weeks but some guys need the gametime to shine and other show how much they suck only in gametime.
