  1. As Tam and Thien Doan tried to file for absentee ballots in Iowa in 2020, they were surprised to find out that votes had already been cast in their names. The siblings, both Democrats, were even more astonished to learn that their ballots had been cast in support of Republican candidates only, including President Donald Trump, according to court testimony. Keeping up with politics is easy with The 5-Minute Fix Newsletter, in your inbox weekdays. Unbeknownst to the Doans, they were among a group of Vietnamese immigrants targeted in a months-long voter-fraud scheme by the wife of an Iowa Republican county supervisor who wanted her husband to win “by any means necessary” in the 2020 primary and general elections, according to prosecutors. Kim Phuong Taylor was convicted Tuesday of 52 counts of voter fraud, the Justice Department announced. A federal jury in Sioux City, Iowa, found Taylor, 49, guilty on 26 charges of false information in registering and voting, 23 charges of fraudulent voting and three charges of fraudulent https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/11/22/iowa-voter-fraud-wife-husband-republican/

  3. Trump activates his Jew hating cult https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/threats-judge-law-clerk-trump-civil-fraud-trial-detailed-new-court-fil-rcna126443 Then, on the second day of the trial, Trump posted a message on Truth Social identifying Engoron's principal law clerk and falsely claiming she was in a relationship with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. While Trump himself did not threaten her, Hollon said, "the comments made in his post resulted in hundreds of threatening and harassing voicemail messages that have been transcribed into over 275 single spaced pages." An attorney for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday night. Hollon went on to say that the clerk's "personal information, including her personal cell phone number and personal email addresses also have been compromised resulting in daily doxing. She has been subjected to, on a daily basis, harassing, disparaging comments and antisemitic tropes." Specifically, the clerk receives 20 to 30 calls a day to her personal cellphone and 30 to 50 messages a day on social media and personal email combined, Hollon said.
  4. The gunman who opened fire at Ohio Walmart this week, injuring four people, may have been at least partly inspired by violent, racist ideology, the FBI said Wednesday. Benjamin Charles Jones, 20, killed himself after he opened fire with a carbine at the Walmart in Beavercreek about 8:30 p.m. Monday, authorities have said. He wounded four people — a white man, a white woman and two Black women — the FBI said. All survived. Jones was white, the FBI said. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ohio-walmart-shooter-may-inspired-racist-ideology-fbi-says-rcna126449?cid=eml_mrd_20231123

  10. Here's hoping this actually means something... Vladimir Putin said Russia has always been “ready for talks” to end the “tragedy” of war in Ukraine. Speaking at the G20 meeting, the Russian president gave his most pacific comments yet since invading Ukraine, but then blamed Kyiv for no peace talks. https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2023/nov/22/russia-ukraine-war-putin-zelenskiy-latest-news-updates
  11. When you have the leading GOP candidate saying he wants to rip up the constitution, arrest everyone, deport others and obviously wants to stay in power for life the Dems better be telling people that. The POS will lose
  12. https://www.timesofisrael.com/1000-boats-said-set-to-leave-turkey-for-gaza-waters-in-new-freedom-flotilla/ Approximately 1,000 boats will gather in Turkey on Wednesday before heading toward Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade and disrupt maritime trade coming into Israel during the war with Hamas, in an apparent repeat of similar attempts from over a decade ago. In an interview with Turkish news website Haber7, Volkan Okçu, one of the organizers of the protest, indicated the boats will carry 4,500 people from 40 countries, “including anti-Zionist Jews.” Among the 1,000 vessels would be 313 boats filled with Russian activists, and 104 filled with Spanish activists, he said. Only 12 Turkish vessels will join the flotilla, he told Haber7. However, Okçu said in a later tweet that he expected the number of Turkish vessels to be much higher, at least 1,000, and insisted that the initiative is not associated with the Turkish government. He did not explain the discrepancy in numbers.
  13. So many things working against that. trouble maker Iran, for one. They have zero interest in peace. The right wing in Israel that wants to expand settlements, are a problem. The religious nature of the country, are they a free society or a religious one? Lots of problems, but they are also full of really smart and talented people, so hopefully it works out.
  14. If Russia conquered Ukraine?? How would you like to live under Russia occupation? Good god, I'd fight to save you from living like that
  15. My favorite part is that he was the best at his job so he got fired and replaced by someone who was just the worst ever. That makes sense, not And no, not wide open borders, but much more of a chance for people to enter and get to work on gaining the American dream. I wish there was a better way to regime change in a place like Venezuela, also. A better government there solves a lot of problems.
  16. Are you old enough to remember the sink of the Gen. Belgrano? I was in high school when that happened. Pretty big international incident and its one of the biggest news stories that impacted me at the time. I did not know until I was older that it was controversial. Only the second ship since WW2 sunk by a sub, with perhaps just once since (N. Korea sinking a S. Korean vessel perhaps) and only nuclear sub to sink a vessel. The Belgrano had been an America cruiser, but the news at the time called it a battleship. 300 sailors perished. I had watched a lot of the "Victory at Sea" series as a kid and the world at war BBc special and it seemed like something right out of WW2 to me at the time.
  17. Putin and MAGA sure hope so Remember how you guys were saying Kiev would fall in three days? 👏
  18. Well, I'm sure his super wealthy "friends" help him stand tall while his wife attempts to overthrow the republic Pure scum
  19. Why are we still talking about you? 🤥 And don't forget, give more money to Iran, or something!
  20. How would I know. I'm just saying I have no reason to believe you. Not sure why some of you need to bring in supposed personal details. Sounds disingenuous, especially when there is self-praising involved
