  1. Salient, dominant and useful
  2. No, things are going great. More jobs than workers, stock market at record levels. Why do so many want to come here? It's because things are great here! You guys want to destroy the republic because you are unhappy. Well, too bad. Freedom is great, and the way young people are embracing it is fun to see. Gays are no longer persecuted, women are achieving things earlier generations never dreamed of, and toxic masculinity is a thing being constrained, because it is literally stupidity. Good! I love America! 🇺🇸 Funny how crime has declined as the nuclear family did https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/04/24/what-the-data-says-about-crime-in-the-us/
  3. Oh yes, reality once again getting in under your tent wall, and you don’t like it
  4. Oh, ya. Everything is falling apart. Tell you what buddy, things are great for me. Maybe try and think positive, get out there and change your life. We are wealthier than ever before, crime down, opportunities abound and American leadership is protecting the free republics of the world. No wonder so many Conservative men are committing fast suicide--with guns--and slow suicide with drugs and alcohol. Free your mind and go out and take advantage of this great country we live in 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  5. Alito the d-bag, him and Randy Paul are pure d-bags.
  6. Americans weapons and other material are sure making a difference!!
  7. You are missing the point. This guy says the Catholic Church needs to return to traditional values. So when is he talking about? When women were clearly second class citizens? That is not just the Catholic past, but the American past. Good luck talking women into that situation again. And what did that clown mean by saying men drive culture? Huh? That's just sexist
  8. So, here is one, look at the second set of stats and it has the rates of crime per 100,000 https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm Here is another chart on it, if you scroll down a little https://www.axios.com/2023/12/28/us-murder-violent-crime-rates-drop I know there is an argument out that that almost exactly 20 years after 1973--when abortion became legal, crimes rates uniformly dropped across the board. Was that because of abortion or other factors, I know not, but they do correlate. Here is an article on the drop in crime: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/04/24/what-the-data-says-about-crime-in-the-us/ How have crime rates in the U.S. changed over time? Both the FBI and BJS data show dramatic declines in U.S. violent and property crime rates since the early 1990s, when crime spiked across much of the nation. Using the FBI data, the violent crime rate fell 49% between 1993 and 2022, with large decreases in the rates of robbery (-74%), aggravated assault (-39%) and murder/nonnegligent manslaughter (-34%). It’s not possible to calculate the change in the rape rate during this period because the FBI revised its definition of the offense in 2013. _____ Can I add my general observations on violence in society? I think there is less acceptance of violence in general. We have anti-bullying campaigns now, which I not saying work or don't work, but just the fact the exist shows what society thinks, to a degree. There are way more protections for women now for domestic abuse--The Violence Against Women Act, for instance. I remember as a kid the Boston Bruins climbing into the stands to attack fans. That would be crazy now, as would many other outrageous acts of sports violence that are less tolerated. Gays are accepted and not simply made targets of violence. If you watch older movies, violence against women was common. Police violence against citizens is down, thanks to camera technology.
  9. I don't like him. His plan to siphon off the water from the Great Lakes in revolting stupid. He cherry picks everything he says. How about this line from the speech: As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that is absent, disorder, dysfunction, and chaos set in. Huh? Set the tone for who? What a jack as Are we in chaos now? Why, because this spoiled brat football player doesn't like Joe Biden? He should shut up and go kick a ball
  10. Oh, she was very much in line with Conservative thought on Eugenics. She was very much a main line Conservative on the topic at the time. When did I say she was beyond reproach? Her brave stand for birth control is very commendable, I think. I do not agree with her main line Conservative views Conservatives have been spewing that racist nonsense for decades and even got the Supreme Court to approve the sterilization of individiuals they considered to be degenerates. Thank God for the New Deal Liberalism that swept aside that court paving the way for the Civil Rights Movement! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_v._Bell. No, he said Catholics are bad. You must not have read the speech. Read it, it's interesting. You against birth control, too? You don't think people should be able to get a divorce? Wow
  11. Whatever, what he said was just wrong. Would not change the fact that guns result in a huge number of children's deaths. Kind of think guns buck the trend against rising violence. But we will make progress there, too. I'm sure the speaker dude thinks Guns are Godly, though. He HAS to think that
  12. No, I just take issue with the idea that since the decline of "traditional" households, violence has increased, That is just really wrong, ahistorical and ignorant We have a lot less--though still too much--violence today
  13. I don't condemn him, I just think his speech is seriously ignorant. He blathers on about traditional Catholicism, "The Church created by the Savior Jesus Christ." Ok, well, the Church has a long violent history of repression, see what they did to Galileo for speaking the truth, as one instance. And he is totally wrong in saying violence is more now than before women could get away from their husbands and the bum that got them pregnant. Violence has declined in a huge way. He's just wrong
  14. You are wrong. I do know. You know the Fox news version of her biography, right? She was arrested for speaking out about the ability of women to legally buy birth control. You think that is ok? This speaker guy seems to agree with doing that. Please stick to the topic, birth control. Your turn
  15. This is ignorant. Violence has declined as women have been set free from male domination. Birth control, legal abortion, easy divorce have all risen as violence in society has declined. Whether those are cause and effect, I do not know, but it is a fact, one is up, one is down and the same time "To the gentlemen here today: Part of what plagues our society is this lie that has been told to you that men are not necessary in the home or in our communities. As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that is absent, disorder, dysfunction, and chaos set in. This absence of men in the home is what plays a large role in the violence we see all around the nation. Other countries do not have nearly the same absentee father rates as we find here in the U.S., and a correlation could be made in their drastically lower violence rates, as well."
  16. He said this: "No matter how you spin it, there is nothing natural about Catholic birth control." Oh boy
  17. He really thinks the Catholic Church is messed up. Most of his speech is about how Priests are not doing their jobs as moral crusaders for traditional values. He sure sounds like a Protestant. Almost Martin Lutherish. The speech itself is juvenile, sophomoric and petty. He says Priests are chosen by God, yet he seems to act like he knows better than God what Priests should be and do, It's a Fox news rant against the Church for actually serving the parishioners. If this idiot had his way, the Priest would be like leaders that harassed and oppressed Margaret Sanger for advocating Birth Control. The Church would die if it went back to doing that. This is Fox News rhetoric here: "The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity, and inclusion." How many Christians have been carted away to the gulag over this? "Congress just passed a bill where stating something as basic as the biblical teaching of who killed Jesus could land you in jail." This is pure clownishness here: "They were motivated by fear, fear of being sued, fear of being removed, fear of being disliked. They showed by their actions, intentional or unintentional, that the sacraments don't actually matter. Because of this, countless people died alone, without access to the sacraments, and it's a tragedy we must never forget." Great! More should of died, so that some would not die alone. Just pure stupidity This is just so dumb: "Over the centuries, there have been great wars, great famines, and yes, even great diseases, all that came with a level of lethality and danger. But in each of those examples, Church leaders leaned into their vocations and ensured that their people received the sacraments."
  18. What do you say? I was checking my watch...🤣 You idiot
