  1. -Nate just had a near-pick of Brett Favre. Also, Kelsay is giving the Packers RT some problems.
  2. -Run blocking has been a bit iffy early in this scrimmage. Gandy hasn't been an obvious weak point in pass protection. -Losman looked good on the first drive. 3/4 passing, two first downs. His miss was due to the CB (Carroll) holding against Lee Evans. He was also decisive and got the ball out quickly. -Moulds had a nice catch, breaking a tackle for a first down. -Parrish also made a good catch on an out pattern on third down. -McGee probably would've had a TD on the opening kickoff had it been a real game, though you wonder how hard the Packers were pursuing (the Packers PR also had a big return).
  3. It is on, at least where I am.
  4. No. The Bills need the consistency on offense right now that a veteran like Moulds can provide. If they trade him, they take away a reliable target from JP Losman at a time when he needs someone he can rely on. If they're intent on sending them a WR, look no further than Josh Reed. He doesn't have much value in a trade, but of all of our WRs, I think he's the most likely to be involved if a trade were to occur. I don't think he makes this roster anyway, and if Donahoe can get a mid/late round pick (or the equivalent) for him, he'll probably take it instead of cutting him outright at the end of the preseason. And with Todd Pinkston's injury, the Eagles might just be willing to listen to an offer involving Reed.
  5. What kinds of mistakes is JP making? Does he appear to be making the right reads and decisions and just misfiring and mis-timing some of his passes, or is he making dumb decisions, throwing to covered recievers, holding the ball too long, running too soon, etc?
  6. Come on, Bill. You know that you can easily find good OL late in the draft, don't you? Those guys are a dime a dozen. And that coaching staff can make any 300lb fat guy into a quality OL. Or not. We hear this crap every year and the Bills always field a weak OL.
  7. Ted Washington was considered an underachiever early in his career as well. I believe he was either released or traded to Denver, where he played one year before signing with the Bills as a FA. That's not to say that Wendell Bryant is another Ted Washington. Heck, I'm not even saying I'd definitely try to sign him, but I also wouldn't write off a former high 1st round pick so quickly, especially when he plays on a putrid team. He may just need a change of scenery.

  9. He should know. The turnstiles the Bills management put at RT after Ballard left had a large contribution to the end of Kelly's career.
  10. I'll buy it, but mainly because I didn't buy last year's version and want the roster updates. $40 is otherwise a lot for basically the same game I bought in 2000.
  11. Not only do I think he'll have more TDs than Moulds, I also believe he'll have more yardage and possibly more receptions as well.
  12. Jets 11-5 Pats 9-7 Bills 9-7 Dolphins 4-12 Right now, I think the Jets will probably end up winning the division. They don't have a roster of 22 all-pro starters, but its a solid group that is certainly capable of a strong showing, especially with a healthy Pennington. The hideous schedule as well as the losses of both coordinators will hurt the Pats, but if they can make the playoffs, they'll be a major threat in spite of a subpar regular season record. The Dolphins... are floating belly up at the top of the fish bowl. As for the Bills, if the lightbulb were to go on and Losman 'gets it' early this year, there is more than enough talent on the roster for them to be in the hunt for a division championship. That said, I expect it to take him about half the season to get settled in to the point where he becomes something resembling reliable. Much like the Pats, if they can find a way to make the playoffs, they'll probably be a serious threat as the weak point of the team, Losman, should be much more comfortable in the offense by this time. Still, I think '06 is probably the year they really begin to make some noise.
  13. I think the question for Josh Reed is whether or not he even makes the final roster. Moulds, Evans and Parrish are locks. Smith will probably be retained based upon his return skills, though he'll probably actually be the #5 WR. That leaves one or possibly two spots open. Aiken has more potential than Reed and outplayed him a year ago, too. Reed could still win that spot from him, but its going to be an uphill fight. If he loses, he has to hope the Bills keep a 6th WR, and even then, they'd probably just be protecting a promising developmental player like Tony Brown (lets face it, the 6th WR isn't going to see hardly any playing time unless a major injury bug hits).
  14. He's a good coach, but he's not a miracle worker. His final year with the Giants was awful. Was that his fault? No. He had nothing to work with. Unless someone like Jason Peters steps up and suprises, most likely the LT position will be manned by someone who is adequate at best and a turnstile at worst. I've heard this crap about good coaching before and I'm not buying it. The players are the ones who take the field and if they've got no talent, no amount of coaching is going to change that. This team has been cutting corners on the OL for the last 10 years with pitiful results. Donahoe has done a little better than Butler, but we're still relying upon other teams to do the dirty work for us. How many Bills draft picks are starting on this OL for '05? One. This team has done a pathetic job of developing OL talent in-house, and its largely because they don't even try. Odds are, we'll be debating next April which LT we need to pick in R1. Of course, you can bet the Bills won't actually do it, no matter how bad the situation gets this year.
  15. I don't think they'll be anywhere near as conservative with Losman as the Steelers were with Roethlisberger. They really can't afford to be. The Steelers had the luxury of having three solid RBs that had 500 carries amongst them and Roethlisberger amazingly threw only 295 passes all year. McGahee is a going to be a great RB, if he isn't already, but he can't run anywhere close to that many times in a season. Unfortunately, the dropoff to the backups is a big one. Clearly, the passing game is going to have to take up the slack. That doesn't mean that its going to be a wide open offense by any stretch, but I do think its going to have to be a lot more balanced than a lot of people think. And if McGahee were to miss a few games this year, the Bills might indeed have to call upon Losman to win those games with his arm.
  16. BTW, if that 79 overall proves true for Losman, after a quick glance through the ratings, I believe it'll be the worst overall score for a starting QB in the game.
  17. They always release the ratings before the game. Heck, ALL of the ratings (not just the overall rating) for each player have already been released and are on the internet. http://pc.ign.com/objects/698/698633.html Of course, the AFC East is last on their list and hasn't been updated yet.
  18. He struggled at times, but overall I thought McGee had good first season as a starter and I saw nothing to indicate that he can't become a very good NFL CB. I think the problem is that many people put too much emphasis on where a guy was drafted and consider that as the measure of his potential and ability.
  19. We're just in a stretch where RBs are in good supply and their values are reflecting that. If we go through another stretch of poor RB drafts similar to those of '91-'97, their value will go back up.
  20. I don't know, but I'm more concerned about the environmental damage that its caused to this asteroid. We've screwed up this planet, do we have to go around screwing up everything in space as well. And yes, I'm being sarcastic.
  21. My mom and her dad (my grandfather) have both have each had at least two surgeries to repair ruptured discs. Granted, his was in the early 80s and hers in the early 90s, but both have had serious complications (mostly frequent pain and headaches) and both wish that they'd never had it done. Best of luck to you and hopefully medical science has advanced enough that you won't have the problems my family members have had.
  22. You paid money to see it, didn't you? That's how they can put bad movies in theaters. They know people will show up to watch regardless of the quality of the movie (and in the last 10 years, its been like TV...nonstop crap).
  23. More proof that people will buy ANYTHING. http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/news/80443.php
  24. I always thought he was badly overrated going into that draft and that he'd be a flop. They put too much emphasis on talent and not enough on production and experience. I don't care how good of an athlete he was or that he had a strong arm, he had only about half a season in college where he really played well.
