  1. I wonder if it'll go higher now. Looks like we may find out just how valuable Tuel is. Not the way I wanted it to happen though.
  2. So ... all those "why did we overlook Russell Wilson" articles were written because he wasn't overlooked? And how many articles have I seen that said, "who is the next Russell Wilson?" I'm going to give credit for calling him the steal of the draft before he was actually a big name. I'm sure they weren't the only site that said it, but it was a good call either way. It was good info for me at the time because I play fantasy football like a fiend. I got Wilson with my last pick in a few leagues. He had very little buzz going into the year. Anyway, the point is that this year, they liked Manuel and they liked Tuel too and they have a good track record. I'm encouraged.
  3. Ok, fair enough, but I thought saying "next Drew Brees" was pretty gutsy.
  4. They took RBs in the 2nd and 4th rounds plus they have Alex Green and DuJuan Harris. They have to move somebody.
  5. Maybe, but he's definitely a Spiller fan like me. I enjoyed the C.J. highlight reel. Even though I'd seen it all before, it's still impressive. http://rotobahn.com/the-argument-for-cj-spiller/
  6. One idea MIGHT be to talk to a team like Green Bay who could use a solid body at WR. They could send back a depth RB like James Starks, who might be able to compete with Choice. Starks knows the area fron his U Buffalo days. He went to HS in Niagara Falls. The kid knows to to play in the cold. You never know.
  7. Obviously EJ is going to be the guy. It's all about what hapens when the real bullets fly. I can't freaking wait!
  8. Tuel's gonna play a lot in the 4th game. We'll know more soon enough. There's no downside here. It's all pleasant surprise.
  9. It seems like the guy is saying that the draft was deep more than saying Tuel only has a snowball's chance. It adds up to reality when you saw all those QBs going in the 4th. And I'll tell you what, I was digging and here's what the same guy said on Russell Wilson last year before Wilson won the job. “He plays with tremendous poise and confidence. We realize that Seattle paid solid bucks for Matt Flynn, but on tape, Wilson is a better player. We like him as a dynasty add and would not be at all surprised if he ended up starting in Seattle at some point this year if not right away. This kid has great feet, and he’s cool in the pocket yet has the wheels to escape, and he can throw the rock. If you are looking for a young QB capable of being the next Drew Brees, this could be the guy. He’s a leader, an athlete and he has the poise you look for in an NFL QB.” He's been right before. Tuel's an even bigger long shot, but who cares? We got him for FREE. That's what I want from my GM. Find stuff under rocks and all that. That's how you win. You need to make good big decisions, but you also need to do the little things like getting all the value you can right after the draft ends.
  10. No it's not. You had to lock in something before the draft, because you didn't know how things would play out. If the right lineman or what have you had slipped, they may have had a different plan. Kolb's a guy that can be cut next year with little penalty. No big deal.
  11. I like the bolded part. Does our front office read their site or something? Maybe the bad news is that they liked New England's draft too.
  12. Makes sense, and, really, the Bills didn't pay "lock stud" prices. That's what the Redskins did. The article did say that Manuel was their top ranked guy, just not a lock.
  13. Better would be fine, but Newton is a damn good QB. Unlike all the other child stars, he went to a crud team. EJ's walking in with better weapons than Newton's ever had. I'll take Cam as my QB any day of the week. Not saying I'm unhappy with the new QB talent we have. I'm very hopeful.
  14. Please let EJ be Cam Newton. Please! And, he'd be Cam Newton with BETTER weapons!
  15. I don't know how good Goodwin will ultimately be, but he's a good football player. More than just a KR. He may be a role player rather than a high-volume player from scrimmage, but he'll be an important high-impact role player like Az Hakim was back in the day (but with healthy knees.)
  16. I agree that he is better, and I liked the pick personally, but "proven" is a strong word when we haven't played a real game yet.
  17. I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to pick up on that. The guy is right too. The Jets lose Revis and then have that draft? Yikes.
  18. I think they are both going to be successful as long as they get the time they need to build the team the way they need it. There will be ups and downs and maybe more downs than ups early on. As Aristotle (I think) said, patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.
  19. Exactly. Basically, they took the 8th and 71st picks, and turned them into.... EJ Flash Goodwin Alonso Gragg I'll take that any day.
  20. That's a solid point, because there's no bump in saying EJ was a solid pick. Like this article that I posted in another thread says, nobody gives them any credit for moving back and gaining picks. The Bills didn't just sit tight, they strengthened thier hand before taking the QB. http://rotobahn.com/blog/why-i-loved-the-bills-draft/
