I want to use our first three picks on 2 OL and 1 WR.

So if they are asking for high offers, I'd start with a 3rd, and could probably justify a 1st considering there likely wont be a WR available at #27 as good as Jeudy. But if it really came down to a 1st, I'd have to think hard about it.

now that Bills signed McGovern, do you still want to DRAFT 2 O Linemen?

    QB1

    healthy slinging Allen

    RB1

    derrick henry

wont be expected to carry it all on his back Buffalo gets a lead - henry can run downfield

    rpo?  Good luck !

    wr1-diggs

    wr2 - Beckham jr

again good luck on the RPO and play action with henry in the backfield and these two opposite esch ithet

te- possible round 1 rook and Dawson Knox

slot?  Shakir maybe bease just a hunch he may still be in play with the bills

line?  Henry it’s going to be fine

BUT I feel 1 drafted guard and 1 solid bet guard and we are massive improvements

I think that is the firepower that is going to be putting us back into KC afc championship caliber

Good luck  to anyone stopping it

honorable mention is Jacoby Meyers instead of Beckham

A first round tight end? When you probably have to replace starters Edmunds and Poyer? And maybe add a power back and a wide receiver?

    Are you high?

    100% agreement.

Dawkins and White are the only viable big cap hit candidates. Really don’t see Milano being restructured; if anything he warrants more money via an extension and we’ll with Diggs being restructured just 2 years ago I find that will be a tough task to ask again. Had we made a Super Bowl or won a Lombardi? Totally different.

    Knox,Morse.....

What do we think about trying to sign him to a two year contract. Would immediately become our #2 receiver and take the heat off of Diggs while giving us a solid #2 receiver. We may even be able to then trade Davis. Thoughts???

He has been mostly durable, and productive. I'm just not sure about signing  the 33-year old version.

I will say this about Beane, instead of spending right up to the cap, he would be wise to dump/trade away players who are not in their future plans. It would bode well for him if he had multiple extra picks in the 2023 & 2024 Drafts respectively. It keeps our Super Bowl window open long term and his job safe.

Trading requires a trade partner and you can't assume there's a match for every player you want to dump. This year's draft is crucial and I expect a trade down or two. How about Oliver to Houston for both of their 3rd rounders? He might want to to go home and the Texans could use help on their DLine.

its not like any of this was not expected. The unexpected will be Dawkins, White, Digs, Milano.

What would be "unexpected" about those 4?

what many forget is most contracts now come with restructure language team can invoke at any time. Simple notice to players. agents, banks, payroll dept of team, then money payouts are commenced per new restructure schedule.

And player gets money sooner, so they are happy too.

So no time-consuming negotiations and team can wait until last minutes to activate them depending on what moves come up as ops present themselves as FA runs.

i see just the opposite. He always drafts players they interview or bring in for visits. And telegraphs need picks in first round every year. Just like most do.

    I wonder about tax conseuences?

That "question" is not a question.

We have to make more restructures. We won't field 53 players with just Allen and Miller even if we remain very passive in FA.

If Beane doesn't restructure many contracts,we will see a lot of rookies and veteran minimum deals. Here's an opportunity for him to show what he can do.

Sounds good to me.  I think they'll restructure another few players to try to up the cap space to around $25-30M.

That will give them quite a bit of flexibility to make some needed moves.

That looks about right. Beane will have to rely on numerous "veterans minimum" deals and has to ace the draft. Wouldnt be surprised to see him trade down once or twice to to add picks.

Restructures are nice to give you that instant jolt of cash. But they are one trick ponies. You must be prudent when moving forward, despite all the protestations from fans that the cap isn't real.

    The cap is real.

They will obviously restructure players that have proven ability, and production and will be part of the Bills plan moving forward. But I don't want to accumulate a crippling pile of dead cap dollars.

Bills certainly are "banking" on significant salary cap increases

He’s basically a one year rental at 16 million if I read correctly.
    Oliver and a 6th for Henry 🤷

His base salary is 10.5 million which is what the Bills would pay him.

When you hear "cap hit"; it means all salary and all bonus dollars, combined.

Bills aren't responsible for bonus money that was paid up front but has to be accounted for and is spread across the length of the contract ("amortized").

Ando, if you trade Oliver that's just more cap trouble for the Titans. Are you paying attention? Thats why they are willing to trade Henry.

  9. No interest....he's 30 and had some recent injuries. Will probably still want to be paid well.

But more importantly where does he fit in Bills defense? He has nominally been an OLB but in 3-4 defense. He cant do what Edmunds has done for the Bills D.

    so..no thanks.

Most Bills fans understandably want an offensive player in the 1st round. I get it. But if the board falls a certain way, is there any defensive player realistically available at pick 27 that you would be happy with?

I have mentioned elsewhere that my guy on defense is LB Jack Campbell. He wouldn't be my first preference at pick 27 but I've grown to like him enough that I would be happy with him as the pick there. He brings a size and physicality to the defense that we don't currently have and I think filling that missing element is just as important as filling some of our holes on offense.

Assuming Edmunds leaves, and depending on what Bills can do in free agency, I dont have a problem with a top LB or possibly S at 27. I think TWO LBs will be needed, with one able to generate some pass rush.

Beane is going to have to excel in the 2023 draft and that might mean trading down once or twice and accumulating picks.

    Addison or Torrence for me.

Addison is the perfect WR2 for our Offense, and he has WR1 potential down the line.

Torrence is just a monster.  Yea, he's only a Guard.  Won't ever play Tackle.  Isn't a Center.  Do. Not. Care.   Drafting him brings the hope that he will lock down his Guard spot with top tier play for a decade.

If we address Guard and WR in Free Agency, then I'd be ok taking a swing on Bijan Robinson.

His first contract will only be 4 years, with the possible 5th year. No guarantee he would be in Buffalo for a decade; free agency, injury, etc.

He has proven to be a better player than Hollywood brown or Chase Claypool before trade.

A late first or  early second compensation plus a young player feels right.

He is in the last year of his contract. Sportrac has him at a projected 12/mil per season. We cant afford that if we want our defense and o- line competitive.

So,now you will need at least TWO new receivers for 2023 ? Ridiculous ,and,as always, you can't assume a team will fall for YOUR proposed deal.
