I agree with the wall metaphor in drafting G’s.  We also need a WR and a TE.  This is a deep TE class.  Hines needs to reduce his contract if he wants to stay.  We’ll have 10, 11, 12, and 21 personnel.

I sincerely hope Benford can convert successfully to S.

Why are you so adamant about Benford moving to safety? The kid showed a bit at corner so why waste THAT development and have him adjust to safety?

Hyde will be back, Hamlin is questionable but I suppose they could bring back Marlowe and Johnson.

Draft or sign an ACTUAL safety.

I'm in on trading Oliver he hasn't lived up to his draft status & is inconsistent with out someone else on the D line to help him out Mckenzie i would cut there are a ton of guys out there just like him fast & inconsistent that you can get in the draft for less money & could have a bigger upside .

Neal seeing as he has versatility being that of ST's, corner & safety his contract is much easier to see as a more useful part of cap money & could be a good player to have around seeing as the amount of safety's on the team as of now is low & he knows the D unless it changes now .

Gilliam i can see if utilized in a much better way with in the scheme he has shown that he can be a outlet for Josh & has good hands pls is a good blocker when needed in the back field or for a lead blocker so he also has some versatility which makes his contract look to be better than a player that only has 1 thing to offer .

I hate that Morse is in the position he is given his concussions but the Bills definitely need someone that can take his place & there are a few in the draft that look like they have that potential so i hope they draft his replacement because i think he is one hit away from retirement if he's thinking of life after football .

Those of you pushing for an Oliver trade.....your,e talking about how he isn't worth the salary so why would another team want him?

  3. I laugh at how you think you can force another team to trade with you, and give you what you want in return.

There are plenty of contracts that could be restructured and there is something to be said about continuity.

Bills already have 24 free agents ; trading and cutting so many more could backfire.

I like Keenum and I think they'll bring him back, as they seem to prefer guys who already know the system.

That said, I never felt very confident that Keenum could come in and get the job done.

I don't know if Mariota could, but it will be interesting to see if they look at anyone else out there. Many options.

I have liked Brisset as a backup to Josh....can run a little

Not sure if this is worth its own thread, but I've seen quite a bit of discussion about the need to draft a safety early, assuming that Poyer won't be a Bill this season.

Benford has the measurables & the skllls that are needed.  He would be a backup for years if he stays at CB on this team.  He's too good to just be a backup, and I think he could have a very successful transition to SS w/ the right coaching.

My heart will sink a bit if I see the Bills draft a safety in the 1st or 2nd round (or even the 3rd), simply to replace Poyer.  They need to focus on the trenches. We have skilled players on the roster right now that can pick up the slack in the secondary.

    Just my 2 cents.

What makes you so sure he becomes a competent safety THIS season? It isn't an automatic transformation.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he could be had for a reasonable trade compensation. Arizona is basically starting over and they are under a new regime. He would be the perfect compliment to Diggs and this type of move could help smooth over the end of last season.

This is Brown’s last year of his original contract, he’s due 13.4M for 2023 and then he’s a FA unless the Cardinals pony up and pay him some big bucks. I would think a 2nd or a 3rd rder and possibly one our weak DL, Epenesa or Basham could get this done.

I wouldn't give up any players for him and would probably want to rework that contract. Maybe Beane would extend him.

So, let's just take the ball out of Josh's hands and give to Henry 350 times a season.

Fix the OL and let Josh throw the ball.

If this were to happen  and I doubt it will...Henry would probably not carry the ball 350 times in Buffalo.

Singletary had 177 carries last year so Henry would presumably take those and some of Josh's carries. But do you want to take the ball out of Cook's hands, too?

How would Diggs react if HE got fewer targets?

Would the Bills be MORE effective if they threw LESS? I would expect higher TOP,keeping the ball away from opponents, but with Henrys career workload and the cap constraints, this pipe dream might be just that.

I was saying early this year, pressure is ratcheting up on McD. Needed to make super bowl this year - team looked stacked early in the year. Now national media ( i think of all the talking heads - sims and florio are the most reasonable and legit ) starting to recognize McD and Beane arent getting the job done. Sims is a little more on the side of needing more impact players which I agree. I still think think the right move was keeping Daboll and leaving frazier and McD in kc parking lot after 13 seconds (and hous and kc playoff game poor D performances)

Pressure from who,the Pegulas? Do you think Terry is knowledgable enough, and tough enough, to sit McBeane down and give them specific directions and strict ultimatum?

For example; would he insist ( depending on how free agency goes)that Beane draft 3 or 4  offense players before picking defense?

Beane has to do 3 things well this offseason for the Bills to have a good chance to win the Super Bowl.

    1. Improve the OL. Everyone knows it's been said a billion times on this message board.

    2. Get an #2 WR

    3. Plug in the holes on D as we are probably losing Edmunds and Poyer.

If the Bills restructure a lot of contracts, they can keep Edmunds. If they do, Beane must have a killer draft.

    Pretty fair assessment.

We didn't get to see too much of Crowder - but honestly, I thought he made a big difference when he was in.  He seemed like he was turning into a very good 3rd down guy.

The homer in me also holds out hope for Davis, and thinks Shakir could take a big next step.  Don't ask the non-homer.

Crowder had 6 catches in 4 games,so, he was practically invisible. If he is healthy,I wouldn't be opposed to Bills bringing back....on a team-friendly deal.

I wouldn't be opposed to dumping a #1 draft pick for another weapon for Josh. Tee Higgins comes to mind - the contract would need to be figured out, but that's where Big Baller Beane comes in.

You have kinda broken the rules of the game with your proposed TRADE.

I think his agent is tough to deal with and might concern other teams if they try to extend him.

And why would the Bengals trade a quality WR who is still on his rookie deal? The Bengals won't give up any of Burrows weapons.
