Hard to imagine any of the rookie QBs starting for B-lo opening day. Open comp between Fits and T-jax. If the winner doesnt get it done than in comes the rookie. Gotta have a few vets on the roster to start this thing next year regardless of what QB we draft. Hope we get to see t-jax in preseason. Already know what Fitz brings to the table.

Fitz still has to agree to a pay cut, which I haven't read any where that has officially happen. This QB open competition is to find put who sucks worse. But these two guys are all we've got at the moment. Should Fitz lose the job this summer would anyone even want him on the team in any capacity? Let these guys battle it out and draft a QB.

I could be wrong, but didn't the Eagles try to make Vick into a pocket type passer? Biggest problem in Philly was the line. Give Vick a good line, a great running game, and under Marone's system - high paced, kelly gun offense. I think it would interesting. A guy like Vick seems to be a better fit for that style than Fitz does. IMO.

I think this is good news. Fitz either agrees to a reduced contract and competes for the starting job or they show him the door. I would like to see what he can do in the new system, though I agree he's not the answer long term. Right now, as in today, he's the best option Buffalo has. Draft a QB, sign one from FA, and let them battle it out. If Fitz ends up winning the job, I'll support him....until we find a better option.

Non-issue for me and not worried about Stevie reporting to camp out of shape. Stevie was on on the Rome show for one reason, to be baited into saying something contraversal. Why else have this guy on the show? Because he plays for the Bills, because he had a 1000 yard season? No, because he says, and does, dumb crap all the time. He's good radio, he's good TV. Hopefully, Marone can keep him focused and help keep him under wraps. Lol, cut him? Seriously? SJ is a good receiver. He's a talented kid. We don't need to be cutting talent. Sorry guys, the Bills don't have that luxury. We need to be adding talent, not getting rid of it because something so minor like this.

Both Kelly and Thurman have fought like hell to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Both good people in my book.

We've been through the big name FA signing experiments year after year. Bledsoe, TO, Merriman, just to name a few, and it doesn't work. After another losing season we blame the coaches, fire everyone, and immediately look at the overpriced, aging FA list and start trying to find ways to get them in here. Stop the madness! Buffalo needs to build through the draft. Last few days I'm reading posts in here about signing Revis, Moss, Alex Smith, Flaco? Flaco who is playing in the SB and asking for Manning type money? No way. It may take us years, but we have to build this thing from the draft. Its not simple, its not sexy, it takes time and smart drafting by the FO. We've been rebuilding for 13 years. Hopefully they start getting it right and we start seeing playoff football again in a few seasons. That's reality.

Bills aren't making the playoffs next year, or I'll say its highly unlikely until they find a franchise QB. Alex Smith isn't the answer and this QB draft class isn't the answer. Most of the vet QBs that could be on the market are back ups, we have that in Fitz. I know we all want our QB now, but he's just not there. Address other needs now in the draft and wait till next year on the QB. Gotta draft the best talent on the board and stay patient on QBs. Can't force it if it ain't there.

I'd agree to pink helmets if it meant getting back to the playoffs. Personally I like the white. Stick around long enough and the throw back/alt unis will be the 90's red and blue. Just get rid of the white Nike collar and 'd look even better.

Marrone turned Cuse around all most immediately. With little talent he coached those kids to back to 8-5 seasons and bowl appearances. Pretty solid accomplishment, but does it warrant a NHL HC shot? Seems a little early to throw that at him. I say that because the Bills were the only team interviewing him. That makes me nervous. Marrone will have a huge challenge in front of him and will need a ton of help. Front office better have a plan for a OC and DC. I doubt Marrone has those relationships. ESPN just ran a peice on the hire and Herm Edwards had some nice things to say about the new coach. Oh well, I know this, find a top QB to play in B-lo and Marrone will look like the next NFL genious and Brandon will be the genious who took a shot on him. Good luck Doug! We're with you.

Agreed, a HC does bring value with his connections and who he can bring in for coordinators. Also how he evaluates talent, especially at the QB position. Can't wait until the coaching decision is made so we can start focusing on the QB. Go Bills!

I can appreciate the "fresh air" thought above on Kelly. My concern is that kind of offense needs youth and speed. Hard to compare the K Gun style of the 90's and hoping Kelly could recreate that he with the current squad. We had Jim Kelly, Thomas, Reed, and more back then. Can Kelly run his high tempo offense with who we have now. How long will it take for him to draft what he needs?

Grossman played we'll that year. Had a fluke year and had a shut down D which helped. Lovie isn't coming in here and winning with Fitz. Gotta have the QB.

Not to be negative, but does it really matter which one of these guys the Bills hire? The candidates with HC experience only had success because they had talent and most importantly they had top notch QBs. Wiz had Warner and Lovie had Cutler, both had multiple talented WRs. In my opinion, the Bills need to find someone that will utilize CJ and has to be a master motivator. Maybe that's Kelly? Regardless, they have to find a legit QB. Do that and whomever they hire will be the next NFL HC genious. The bigger issue is where are they going to find that QB? Not in this years draft. None of these guys interviewing are going to win and turn this franchise around with Fitz. All these coaches are capable with the right QB in place. Miss on the QB and we'll right here 3 years from now.
