Why not? Safety is one of the more replaceable positions. He was an average player who will get good money on the open market. He's gone and I really don't see it as a big hole

I love the rich history of the Buffalo Bills and have the utmost respect for the success Ralph, Bill, Jim and co. reached. But I am tired of living in the past. Everyone refers to the 90's, living on the great successes that just aren't here any more. How about a more realistic option in Byron Maxwell? Any interest from Rex here? Tall, lanky, experienced player. Teams often tested him and he did a solid job opposite Sherman. This signing would open up Corey Graham to move to Safety if needed and allows for the team to spend elsewhere while solidifying the secondary. I don't see many other options. Use the cap space to support the starting QB with a quality o line and good targets. Yes, they new to bring someone in but I don't see any FA option as being clearly better than a guy who has been given 14 games over 2 seasons
