  1. I don’t think they are required to cut any more players until after the 3rd preseason game on the date when they need to get to the initial 53 EDIT: August 31st at 4:00pm they must be at 53. Until then, they can be at 80 players. I imagine you’ll start to hear some trickle in throughout the next two weeks until a large number are cut day or two before the 31st
  2. What I’m excited to watch today: Offense: Davis Webb- can he string together another solid performance this week? I don’t think he is destined for the 53, but he showed the poise and capabilities to compete for a PS job again, or maybe even another team’s 53. Could he edge out Mitch, and send him packing to be QB2? Idk… Dion Dawkins- Return to action for the Schnowman. How does he look, physically? I know it won’t be overnight but it’ll be nice to see a glimpse of his conditioning and stature. Glad he is back! Spencer Brown- Can this raw kid show enough to be OT3? Last week many people thought the Bill’s depth at T was exposed. Do the Bills need veteran help elsewhere or can they get enough from this mauler to be the emergency guy? Marquez Stevenson- As with Davis Webb, I don’t see the 53 for the rook, but he did show a little burst in game one, and I’m interested to see if he can run a full route tree. It’s possible he does enough to warrant a serious look into the 53 now with the Sweeney injury. Do they risk waivers? Is he KR2 going into the season? We shall see! Jacob Hollister-One of the free agent signings that I was really excited about has essentially flown under the radar all camp. Again, with Sweeney down, Hollister’s role on this team will be even more cemented as TE2. I’d like to see him run with the 1’s today. Defense: Obada, GROOT, Boogie, AJE, Bam-There is no question that these players are getting a lot of buzz at the DE position. Who will step up and make plays today? It will be cool to see these guys against Fields, and I hope to see a little more pop from Boogie on the pass rush, and an expanded tool set from GROOT (felt like he relied too heavily on his length and speed last week…fine for now, but all great rushers need a counter). Can Obada turn his reportedly successful camp into a good national showing WITHOUT the penalties? Will AJE have another respectable game with some more pressures? Does Johnson’s ST presence give him any edge toward the 53? Joe Giles-Harris, Andre Smith-These are two LBs that I thought made some noticeable plays for the Bills last week. Again, a deep position will likely see neither of these guys make the roster, but I wouldn’t rule it out. Damar Hamlin,Josh Thomas-Safety is a position (like corner and OT, but not as crucial) that gets skinny real quick behind our starters. Who will fill out the backup two spots? With the departure of Dean Marlowe, Jaquan Johnson likely has an inside track at #3. Again, I thought both Hamlin and Thomas showed promise last week and I look forward to seeing them continue to make plays for this defense. With Poyer/Hyde likely facing limited (if any) playing time, we should see a lot of these guys today. Specials: Punt Coverage - How do the gunners look? Can someone step up and make Taiwan Jones expendable? I know, it’s unlikely given what McD has said, and how they value guys like him…but still, it isn’t out of the question. I believe if they think enough of Johnson and Kumerow, Jones could get the axe. Haack - speaking of which, a great punter can do wonders for your coverage team. I’d like to see more from Matt like we did last week Returns - I was admittedly someone who did not worry when Andre Roberts left this offseason. Despite his obvious abilities, I thought he also presented some liability in returns. Pair that with the current state of the NFL kicking game/rules, and what we saw from McKenzie week 17 last year, I figured the return teams would be well enough set. Despite that notion, I found myself entirely underwhelmed by McKenzie and company last week. Can we get more from these teams? Who is KRPR2? ENJOY THE GAME!
  3. I just (re)watched the first one last night!
  4. I used to park at the apartment complex there for years. Easy in, easy out. Fair price.
  5. I just don’t know what the cap savings does for you, immediately or long term. What are they going to do with that 3m? Can they sign a vet corner? Depth tackle? Great! Otherwise, what’s the point? I want them to assemble the best roster they can. The money should not factor into this decision, based off of the current state of the franchise, unless it can directly help them to improve elsewhere. if they go with the young players, I’m assuming that it’s because they think they are better for the franchise (now or in the future) and I imagine the money is only an afterthought unless Beane has some wizardry planned to utilize it for the good of the team this season.
  6. At this point, the cap savings to me is irrelevant. Just keep the best players, and if it happens to be that they’re cheaper? Great!
  7. I’m about 35 minutes from Highmark Stadium.
  8. My parents I’d consider average fans. They has season tickets for 10 years during the drought. Never go to any games, but watch or listen to every one. They know all the players (mostly) and read in the newspaper about them. They aren’t actively seeing information in the off season, but follow along as it is reported to them.
  9. Yea but how many days until the Super Bowl?
  10. Lol at anyone who is seriously questioning who our backup return specialist would be in the event of a McKenzie injury. Amen!!! A good punter nullifies the need to have elite cover units, IMO. If Haack can directionally place his ball with purpose, I’d rather the up-and-coming pass rusher make the team.
  11. Without knowing anything about him, he looked a bit stocky (more of an AJ Klien build) but moved well. Edit: Aside from one inch in height, they are identical builds.
  12. Been reading for years. Looking forward to it!
  13. They can do a number of things: First, and foremost, is that they should place him on the commissioners exempt list. Essentially, this would remove him from the Texans 53 and make him ineligible to play (while still being paid). The NFL has an extensive history (Vick, Hardy, Hunt, etc) of using this process while legal proceedings are underway. It puts the onus on the league, instead of the team, to step in and handle the situation. Second, they could suspend him temporarily or indefinitely. There does not need to be a civil/criminal charge or a conviction to do so. So to answer your question, it would remove him from the team facilities and dock his pay. The NFL’s inaction while the legal proceeding play out, although the norm lately in many player situations, is a cop out. In my opinion, they are taking the easy road out, hiding behind due process instead of taking a stand against some obvious injustices. The league claims to champion social issues, promotes equality and wants to appear to be a progressive voice in our country, yet when faced with the chance to take a stand, does nothing.
  14. This is not the case. At least in my recent experience, I registered under my sister-in-law’s name but used my credit card. You cannot change the name that you register under due to it needing to match the email, but when you enter CC information, you just need the billing address to match the card number.
  15. I’ll say it again, the NFL is embarrassing themselves with how they’re handling this situation.
  16. SHOCKED the chiefs would take a player with questionable judgement and personal morals. Otherwise, thanks for the update. Looking forward to seeing you guys way down the road.
  17. Fair, but I can’t shake a few of the bad plays (Allen attempted pitch to Knox, Siran Neal whiff on blindside hit of Watson in the backfield, Cody Ford penalty, etc) they have tainted the game for me.
  18. I’m guessing Obada, just because i think the team values veteran leadership (Hughes/Addison), and sticking with their own (the other 4 were Beane picks). Add in the ST factor for Johnson and the high draft pick investment of Greg, Boogie and AJE. Obada seems like the guy to me
  19. Great thoughts. I was solely looking at the passing numbers, but it’s hard to ignore the rushing. For consistency purposes, I nixed them for each year. I think you’re spot on in the bold. One of the most surprising facts about the 12 passing TDs was that was the TEAM total in 2018. Allen had ten alone. So I think the numbers are a bigger indicator of how poorly built we were to throw the ball and how terrible the talent was on this team. in another note, forgot to mention Daboll as a major factor here. Another difference from 2018 and beyond
  20. If you want the statistics, skip right to the end! Otherwise, if you're interested in a Buffalo Bills memory, keep reading... So last night I couldn't sleep and started scrolling through my old photos/videos. I quickly strayed down digital memory lane. As I thumbed through the photos, I stumbled upon a video my wife shot on April 26th, 2018. Although that date may not jump out at you, the video is easy to recognize as Santora's Pub on Transit in Amherst. i'm there with my friends, all clad in Bills gear with the first round of the NFL draft and @Roger Goodellon the TV. My wife recorded my friends and I reacting to the Allen selection. Anyways, as I thought about this date, 2018, and the McBean era, something just did not add up. How could it be that Allen is already up for an extension after 3 years, and yet, I could only remember 2 seasons? I thought and thought and all I could come up with was that in McDermott's first year (pre-Beane) they broke the drought with Tyrod and company, and then drafted Allen the next year. Thus, the past THREE years, we were 'playoff caliber.' Despite embarrassing loses to Jacksonville and Houston, the Bills under McDermott were a ship headed in the right direction. But this doesn't make any sense! If Tyrod had played for the first playoff game, and Allen the next two, how could this upcoming year be his 4th season!? And then, from a deep dark place, somewhere that I must have buried with all my old skeletons, there it was. 2018. How could it be, that in the same year the Bills made the playoffs and drafted Josh Allen, I've completely blanked an entire NFL season? Was that even possible? Tiny memories trickled back in, and then I dug deeper... Below you'll see passing yards, as well as the three leading WRs in yardage that season: 2018 - QB - Allen, 2074 Yards, 10 TDs (Derek Anderson was 465/0, Matt Barkley 232/2) WRs - Zay Jones (652), Robert Foster (541), Jason Croom (259) 2019 - QB - Allen, 3089 Yards, 20 TDs WRs - John Brown (1060), Cole Beasley (778), Dawson Knox (388) 2020 - QB - Allen, 4544 Yards, 37 TDs WRs- Stefon Diggs (1535), Cole Beasley (967), Gabriel Davis (599) 2021 - QB - ???? WRs - ????? Anyone care to predict 2021? I'm starting to think forgetting the 2018 season was a conscious action. When you see names like Terrelle Pryor, Chris Ivory and Charles Clay pop up on the receiving leaders, you have to break out the tums. Heck, even Dion Dawkins caught a pass that year (so did Kyle Williams, remember!?) Anyways, long story short, what an AMAZING and TREMENDOUS change in our passing game over the course of the Allen years. Kudos to Allen, Beane, McDermott and all involved (I see you, Stef) for such amazing success, but more importantly, progress from the days of 2018.
  21. Hollywood Brown is apparently also built of glass.
  22. Thanks for posting. Solid watch
