Red helmets were originally introduced to help Joe Fergeson by giving him a recognizable target to throw to, thus reducing interceptions. Not a marketing tool at all back those decades.

I hated Dunleavy when early on. I'll admit, he's gotten better with more air time. RJ and Van Miller were the staples. Both have/had very unique speaking styles that were unmistakable. I would love to have guys like that again. Something that stands out. Haven't heard enough of Chris Brown PBP, but Dunleavy and Murphy both have a rather vanilla style of speaking. Not talking voice inflexion as Murphy could go over the top sometimes. Just the sound of their voices.
You forgot the three bad years with Al Meltzer.

I highly doubt he will get a HC job, but would that even still apply? Is he still technically employed by the Bills?
Well, he didn't do well in Minn, but Marv Levy didn't do well in KC before being a success w the Bills. Hey, you never know. (as Marv often said)

Von Miller (you will see) and Kelvin Benjiman

I can listen to him call “Gabe Davis!!!” for hours straight …
And why not…..
Nantz is the best.
I also recall Fitz throwing a 98 yarder to Terrill Owens. That dates me I guess.

I watched him play many times on my grandparents black and white TV....we didn't have one at my house, so Sunday afternoons I was with the TV. He was great, and I remember some of his teammates. Milt Plumb was the QB after Otto Graham. The first in a line of great Syracuse rb;s. Ernie Davis, Floyd LIttle...on an on. RIP JB.

Sounds to me like the NLF is running this program to generate minoiry HC candidates, and LF is in the cohort being groomed for that kind of role. Doesn't mean he gets one, but, he might. His time in Minn wasn't great, and that is against him. But, recall Marv Levy had a bad record at KC before coming a GOAT for the Bills. Anyhow, the NFL is trying to move some minorities into the HC ranks. the NFL;'s problem is that they have decentralized hiring, and the owner and GM pick their guy. Who knows what the calculus is in each of the 32 teams. I know personal confidence in the selection is important at that level, and likely the owner makes the final decision. Frazier h as made a lot of money. this is a self satisfaction move for him trying to move up the line. If that is what he wants, I wish him well. He has a good record as a DC, but, that is not enough to get selected. And, his age may be an issue as well, mid 60's is a hard time to get promoted. (yeh, but Marv did)

Agreed!
Namath played 13 seasons, and he less than 50% completion rate in 7 of them. He had more TDs than INTs in only 1 of his 13 seasons.
His best season was 4,004 yards, 26 TDs, 28 INTs, 52.5% Completion.
Career completion rate of 50.1% does not belong in the HOF, regardless of era. Career 173 TDs with... 220 INTs.
Yes, but the NYC Press dosn't care. that is why I always LOVE it when the Bills beat the Jets or Giants. the NY press then is shocked!

good writeup. Face it, this isn't about sports competition fairness. Its about maximizing revenue for the NFL. Players and fans are just going to have to go along with that reality. Now, about this Peacock thing. I am not going behind any paywall to watch. (although I admit to having Amazon Prime, but that is for other reasons)

To me this is a sign that the streaming fad is never ever going to work for sports. They are desperately trying to force people to watch sports on streaming services.
ESPN Plus works to watch most Sabers games while in Florida. So, I pay the fee. (just not the games played in Florida)

That isn't that bad and it is better than Tre White was last year.
I wouldn't bring Levi back to start, but if they want to bring him back as depth to fight for a spot I wouldn't hate it.
If Tre isn't physically recovered, he might be better than Tre 2023

I'd much rather have a QB that flies under the radar and doesn't get endorsements...
Upstanding young fellows like JP Losman, Trent Edwards, EJ Manuel, etc that will help us to win 7 games and be solidly "In the Hunt" through Week 16
Then we can all go back to sleep for 17 years and set our alarm clocks for Sunday 1 PM games every week
SMFH
Ej sold shares in his future earnings. Probabily worked out ok for him. robert Griffin 3 did that also.

This is a detailed article if you can get to it. Civil suit will continue and will fail but will be a trial.

Beasley was the safety receiver and had the stats to show it. Kincaid can pickup some of that slack. Perhaps with big plays occasionally.

Marv Levy used to say "Hey, you never know" Kicking the tires on this guy. BTw, wasn't the TE the Colts cut with the Bills a year or two ago?

I was hhoping they could get the kid from Tennessee, but, that didn't work out. Another tall fast guy with better production than our UDFA's

throw to the open guy. Diggs will get his 100+ catches, others will be targeted on scheme and performance.

Last trip to London was the EJ Manual fiasco. I recall it well. With the situation at home, I doubt the Pegs will have the hospitality plane they had before as I am doubting Kim is traveling that far these days. A london game should be good duty, but ,it a tough fly w a 5 hour time difference. Like playing in the early morning, a nasty twist on the human body.

Vets ring hunting in Buffalo. who would have thought that in past decades? Of course, its a great rationalization for taking less money. Some of each likely.

Davis. He is still a big part of the offense and I think of his ankles stay healthy should have a big season.
His ankles don't account for 9 drops in 91 targets imho. that can be fixed with work to improve his hands. Lets hope he in doing that.

Hurts improved so much from his performance at Alabama I can't believe it. Leaving Alabama for OK was a great move getting other coaching. And, he got good coaching in Philly too. Not everybody would succeed like he did. RESPECT!
