  1. Cook is a part time player at least.  He is a zero yards after the first hit, but his speed gets him a lot of good yards sometimes.  Not the back for the goal line or any short yardage.  singletary can get a  couple of yards after first contact, so he is a must resign imho.  As for this lb, well, he will be  gone soon enough, once his contract runs out.

Yes, the draft plans seems a litle sketchy and out of sync.  Now, I understand that picking 27th or whatever you don't get the big hit first rounders, but rouseau and Elam can play in the league.  Maybe not all pros right now, but capable starters after their first year.  No excuse after that as drafting for need is legit.  And, if Taiwan Jones is on the roster again next year I am going to scream/

Many of us discounted the impact of the ankle injury that Davis sustained in the middle of the season.  He clearly wasn't running well and was not getting separation on his routes.  He played through the injury because even an injured Gabe Davis was better than the next available alternative.  For the last 4 games, he has looked much better and is once again earning targets in the passing game.  I expect that he will continue to make contributions the rest of the season.

He did have an almost bye week when we were supposed to be playing Cincinatti.  So some recovery is plausible.

the issue was he was behind  receivers on the depth chart.  He was plucked from the PS by a former asst GM and OC.

Buffalo has a few draft picks either off if waiver or taking from the PS.

    this will happen again.

My memory is that the  Bills cut him from the 53, perhaps hoping to put him back on the PS.  But, the Giants swooped in at that point and signed him.  The Bills got to cute playing the practice squad resigning game and lost Hodgkins.  Anyhow, comment about is correct.  He wouldn't be seeing the field, all the old slow guys got those opportunities

Elam excels in man, but it’s a mostly zone system which is why i suspect you’ll Dane Jackson get the majority of snaps vs Cinncy.

Though if 27 is back to his old explosiveness (he might be) then it’s not the worst idea to go full man +
blitz with Tre, Elam and Taron Johnson out of the slot.

Tre looked awkward on the sideline when he had to turn to the right.  Had a near fight w the official after that play.  It had to be injury related.  If Cinci picks up on that, watch out.  Play the routes so Tre has to go that way and it won't be pretty.

Interesting ...because these Steelers guys think that Milano got paid " a ton of money" ... $10M a year...!

Milano in my opinion has left some money on the table with his deal with is "team friendly"..... probably at least $10M over the four years and likely more...

At least he will be able to console himself that he did the " mafia" proud.... and in 4 years time when he retires , we will lift up our drinks and salute him for saving us some cap ... whilst we look ahead to the next draft...

Milano will not retire.  Bills will have to keck him  to the curb first.

I'm surprised at the outcome.  I expected the NFL to shrug their shoulders at the positions of the Bills and Bengals and stick to win percentage.

Besides we all know the neutral site is Ford Field.  However, this will be the year the Lions march to the Super Bowl.  😀

Ford Field is the Bills second home this year.

  7. The NFL will make good imho.  Tickets at face anyhow.  Bought from a reseller, well, maybe you get it, maybe not.  I had this happen in Flrodia a couple of years ago with Red Sox preseason game, private sale of seasons seats from the owner.  But, he made good immediately.  I didn't have to ask.  Thje Tv folks don't h ave anything to ask for, the audience was very  large, and they ran their commercials.  Maybe nobody watched them amid the drama, but, they got their broadcast time.  Now, about the schedule.  although the bye is desireable, you could argue that the Bills and the Bengals both got a sort of bye because of the canceled game.  So, time to heal.  Yes, 7 minutes were p layed, but that is about 1/8 of a game.  So, even if KC gets a bye, the Bills and Bengals also got a bye in these circumstances.  Yes, one more game to get to the SB, but, the bye argument is muted by this consideration.

  8. I was around for the blizzard of 77.  Although this one was tough, 77 was worse imho.  City was shut down for 2 weeks, and the burbs one week..   -20F temps and drifts so hard you could walk on them.   There were cars in the middle of Grover Cleveland golf course in May when the snow melted as the city dumped snow there  and had picked up some smaller cars unknowingly.  My employer sent me in to work one week after to see how many made it in....8 out of 400 about....that was a week later! I was instructed to shut it down again....which I did.  (go home, go home, it was easy)  20 ft drifts both north and south of the city.  (Furman Blve, Keck road)   Anyhow, I guess that timing does make it once in a generation. (or two)

I think Beane finds a way to bring back Poyer on a 1 or 2 year deal

Poyer seems brittle recent years.  He can play well when healthy, but....

we will have a new backup QB next year.  Keenum is to expensive and not a great mathc for Josh's style.  Bean will pull a rabbit out of a hat.   Barlkey isn't that guy.

  10. Hacket probabilygot 20-25 mil for 4 years.   He can afford to wait it out, or retire.   I knew from his time in Buffalo that it wasn't going to work out as a HC.  Bronco's will be paying a long time for this mistake along w the QB mistake.  Lots of Bronco fans still shaking their head they took Chubb instead of Josh Allen in the draft.

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison.  Kenneth Davis was nothing like James Cook.  Change of pace in that they’re/were both the backup RB?  Okay.  Jimbo Cook can be a RB1, and has elite game changing skills/attributes.

Cook can't run inside for a short couple of yards.  Not a goal line back.  Sorry, can't sell that idea.

I would rather spend the cap dollars on the Oline or retaining defensive talent. Jacobs is a beast but I think James Cook is a ready to roll player and the team can bring back Hines as a return and third down back. You then could bring in a pure back up to platoon with Cook (hopefully Motor if his number is reasonable) on the cheap.

Cook is the change of pace speed back.  Motor is the main mover. ( Think Thurman Thomas and Ken Davis)
