"I could care less."  If you could care less, that means that you do care.

The correct phrase is "I couldn't care less".

this is a big pet peeve of mine too!

  2. Drives me nuts when people drop the infinitive “to be” from sentences.

For example, they say, “the car needs washed.” It should be “the car needs to be washed.”

Seems like this is common in areas around the Great Lakes ( NY, PA, OH, and MI).

Yes but when you subscribed last year, part of the agreement in the fine print is that you agreed to turn on auto renewal. It'd really the same too, instead of a monthly subscription, you pay for a yearly subscription.  I have subscriptions for ESPN+, BN and Athletic, they auto renew every year so same with ST,  Now I want to turn it off.

That's there way of making lots of money, with people who forget to turn it off.  Think I recall to there were no refunds also on it once you subscribed??

Thanks for the heads up on this. I will try to turn mine off and report back.

Jyare Davis to Syracuse is official. Gotta think Dakota Leffew will follow soon.

In outgoing transfer news, Justin Taylor committed to James Madison and Maliq Brown is visiting (gulp) Duke.

Taylor to James Madison??? He should have gone to Sienna!

I think Maliq had one of his best games against Duke last year. Probably left quite a good impression. It would hurt to see him there.

Did anybody else see Tiger get sandblasted in the face a while ago? That was pretty funny with the wind trying to empty that bunker!  😂

That is basically our weather and the HOA sent landscape crews to get all the fallen branches out of everyone’s yard. I can’t IMAGINE golfing in that, but they are the best of the best.

    That was nuts.

I hate golfing in windy conditions!!  People who don’t play don’t fully appreciate how hard that is.

  6. Don’t know much about him, but Aden Holloway had entered the portal, and we recruited him. Anyone follow his recruitment?

Edit: looks like Michigan might be interested in him.

Bright and sunny Saturday and yesterday, cloudy AF today. Bills and Sabres have strong games that give us hope. Then in crunch time to make the playoffs (Sabres) or succeeding in the playoffs (Bills), fail.

if they were really like the Bills, at about 3 PM, we would have gusting winds of 50 mph too.

  8. Statistically, he has been pretty much the same his four seasons.

I think he missed a few bigger (and very makeable) kicks last year, which skewed our view. But he usually misses about 4 or 5 per year.

I think he will bounce back and be fine. Just like a golfer— need an offseason to re-set the mechanics a bit.

    Any interesting plans?

I just got back from a week in Sedona and kayaking out there made me think that it might be fun to be paddling when the eclipse occurs. Tempted to break out one of the shells for the first time this spring and watch from on the water.

Also thought about breaking out the golf clubs for the first time since my 4th back surgery, which has been 6-7 years now. Cruising around on a cart with a cooler through wide open acreage might also be a cool way to watch the shadows and lighting.

Hmmm, maybe I should just sneak a kayak onto a golf course.....

What are y'all thinking about doing?

I actually was on a golf course the last time there was an eclipse. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so the view wasn’t great. But what’s sort of fun is that every time my friends/playing partners and I play that same course, we always talk about the one specific hole where we all saw it.

Sounds like Dakota Leffew might be the one to keep an eye on. He'll be a 5th year senior, but this past season was the first time he's played point guard as their starting PG got hurt two games into the year. It would be a high risk move. I don't really think it makes a ton of sense for him to be the target, nor do I think it makes a ton of sense for him to even want a PG role, but we'll see I guess. He showed a lot of flashes of passing ability this past season, but over his 4 year career playing in the MAAC (in the conversation for the worst conference in Division 1), he has 233 assists to 228 turnovers.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of point guards out there right now; there's a lot of scoring guards but it's pretty light on guys that will consistently create for their teammates. Carlos as mentioned above is certainly one of the few, but I'm not sure if he offers enough scoring. The one kid that seems to offer both the scoring and creating upside is Malik Mack from Harvard, who is notably friends with Donnie Freeman, but it doesn't sound super likely at the moment. He's asking for a ton of money to leave Harvard; it doesn't sound like Syracuse is willing to match his price but it sounds like maybe nobody will so he may have to decide if he just wants to take the most he can get or simply stay at Harvard (which is obviously a very good choice too lol).

I think we were really hoping Erik Reynolds from St. Joseph's would enter the portal. Similar to Leffew, he's not really a point guard but has shown flashes of passing ability. But what he does have is some of the best shooting/shot creation in the country. Unfortunately it's starting to sound like he'll just end up staying at St. Joe's.

Maybe a dumb question, but any thoughts on whether Cuffe could handle PG duties.  Maybe in more of a platoon?

he strikes me as having okay enough handle to do it, but I am not entirely sure.
