  1. This was an epic match— I remember watching it too. in terms of other tennis drama, I remember watching Jimmy Connors’ run at the US Open in I think 1991.
  2. I was texting with some buddies about Kirk Gibson’s game-winning home run in GW 1 of the 1988 World Series. It then dawned on me that that may have been the single most dramatic sports moment I ever saw. A close second is probably Christian Laittener in 1992 at the buzzer over Kentucky. How about all of you? What’s the most “dramatic” sports moment you saw? Edit: can be either live or on TV.
  3. I lost more respect for Garrett because of the baseless allegation than the helmet thrown itself. what’s interesting is that Garrett is considered sort of an upstanding guy, from what I have heard. For him to stoop that low is really sad.
  4. Colts are the real deal. I think they are actually a good SB sleeper pick. Have basically that same elite running game and elite D, but with a vet QB who can actually pass.
  5. agreed. I used to play at some golf tournaments with some retired NFL players. You couldn’t even tell who the linemen were. The guys that are health conscious know once they retire, they need to drop the 10,000 calories per day, and return to a normal human size. What’s sort of crazy to think is that back in the 1970s and earlier, you had mostly normal sized guys play offensive line— 250 pounders.
  6. He must be looking normal or better for him, otherwise why is he modeling for the camera in some of these. I do wonder if these olinemen have to really put on weight (sometimes over muscle) to bulk up as much as they can?
  7. The thing about Stevenson is he is a true team guy. He always seems to be looking for a brick wall to run through for us.
  8. i bet you are right. if you look at most metrics, there are like 20+ better left tackles in the league, including probably Dawkins. I have no idea what anyone sees in Brown, except to confuse him with his dad!
  9. exactly. That eye incident had to be a watershed moment for any of us Gen Xer fans. I remember even now all the details.
  10. Is anyone like me, and only think if his dad when I see the name “orlando brown”? Getting old!
  11. yeah, I think you said what all of us are thinking. He is about to go off a cliff. Really hope the guy has a support system around him.
  12. the biggest breaks the Steelers got was not having to face the patriots en route to their two Super Bowls. Steelers/Big Ben would have had zero SB’s if they had to play the patriots in the playoffs.
  13. That’s the problem when you get a RT to play LT. That said, I bet the chiefs pay him pretty close to this— you don’t make that trade and then not re-sign him.
  14. Ended up logging back in and made it to my turn…. Sold out!
  15. I am not even moving down from my 10,300 number.
  16. There are 10,300 people in front of me. Forget it. if anyone has 5 for the 30th, please PM me. Thanks!
  17. I wonder what is hurting the NFL’s case is that they don’t have access to the victims to testify in the disciplinary hearing.
  18. He will probably be running routes out in Sarasota the entire time, playing the decoy.
  19. I am just a huge Rafa fan. Love his game, how he plays, the respect for his opponents. I know you are a Federer fan. I always liked him too. And I don’t mind Joker. But from a style perspective, just have always enjoyed Rafa more.
  20. Just stinks that Rafa had to pull out. I think he would have won the whole thing.
  21. I respect that. But I am in the other camp. I actually go further— Barry Sanders was the best professional athlete I have ever seen play. Just mind-blowing talent.
  22. Bell is going to just dance around the whole time.
  23. Interesting. I thought Bonilla was unique. by the way, back when I was a die hard Mets fan, I used to love Brett Saberhagan! I loved those early 90s Mets teams (Olerud, Hundley, Gilkey, Fonzie, Ordonez, etc.).
  24. i actually think the NFL will come down hard for no other reason than because of the owners’ irritation over the browns blowing up the market with Watson’s fully guaranteed deal.
