  1. don’t you love how all our problems started with this thread. This OP should have known better.
  2. well said. Sums up everything perfectly.
  3. Couldn’t sleep well last night. That loss is going to be hard to get over.
  4. I still can’t fathom how Elliot made a 60yard FG in the driving rain with the game on the line. It’s so unfathomable.
  5. Another Carolina connection!! Beane might approve!
  6. Maybe this is just sour grapes by me, but it is mind blowing that anyone can come out of this game And think Hurts is an MVP candidate.
  7. The common denominator is that all three of these guys are playmakers. How do defenses get stops late when the game is on the line? A huge sack by Jones, a fumble caused by Milano, or a pick by White. I can tell you that Phillips, Dodson, and Benford aren’t really guys that can make those plays.
  8. Jerry ball went to southern miss??
  9. a buddy of mine said the same thing. I guess the risk is if you don’t get it, then the eagles would have won on that 59-yard FG.

  12. agree. That was my main takeaway too. Way too snake bit this year. We have to take our lumps And re-set. that FG was a joke. Frankly, same with that TD throw by Hurts, which was basically a hail Mary.
  13. Agreed. As a head coach, McD often loses perspective on the bigger picture, and has more belief in his defense than is warranted. The D played great for stretches. But you have to be blind to not see how the offenses took over late in the game. Neither D was stopping anyone. Have to go for it.
  14. yes. I think anything short of conference championship is wasted. I am losing faith in McDermott, but the mistakes he has made (especially in the playoffs) he has often learned from. Would hate watching the new guy make and learn from those mistakes too, which is probably inevitable. I don’t know— we are definitely approaching a critical inflection point.
  15. I hear you. But if we miss on the next one, then that is easily 3 wasted years right there.
  16. it’s just exhausting to be on the coaching carousel, and all of us have been through it so many times.
  17. Why does anyone think these hot shot coordinators will be better? McDermott was a hot shot coordinator too. His problem is less about coordinating even now, and more about head coaching “feel.” That is a tough quality to pinpoint.
  18. Both Defenses were gassed. We weren’t stopping them regardless.
  19. To me, that was the one critical head coaching error that McD made. You have to have a better feel for the game at that point.
  20. haha. Well said.
  21. Some of those interceptions are misleading. He has several on Hail Mary type throws, and several on receiver drops.
  22. Agreed. You don’t have to be a fortune teller to know that neither defense was getting a stop. Very similar to the KC- 13 second game. Let your QB win.
  23. Off the top of my head: 1) Denver (2023) (last second FG/12 men on field) 2) NE (2023) (basically last play of game) 3) Philly (2023) (59-yard FG and OT) 4) Minnesota (2022) (fumble and improbable Jefferson catch) 5) KC (2021)— 13 seconds i know there are more….
  24. I think part of it has to do with your screen name. Don’t love playing hero ball in the pouring rain. I was fine with playing for OT. That said, I would have gone for it on 4th down in OT. That was the time to win the game.
  25. Isabella for a 100-yard return? Who is with me?!
