  1. What are you talking about?..There is a negotiation between the player/agent and the bidding team to get an RFA offer. If the team is going to use a poison pill in the RFA offer sheet--the player and agent know that..and this basically tells them they are going to end up with the new team. It becomes a negotiating point --to sign something with a poison pill in it--I want $250K more a year...why do you think the Union wants to protect it..its another leverage point for the player. An RFA can negotiate with any team--if a team is going to use a poison pill and another is not the player an agent can use that to up the price for the team that wants the poison pill..
  2. I disagree..the player knows when he signs a deal like this that he is basically going to end up with the new team. A smart agent will leverage this fact to up the ante.
  3. Yep--its a CBA rule that would need both sides to agree. If I was the NFLPA there is no way I am agreeing to change this one..it gets younger guys who are RFA's and Transition and Franchised free agents more cash. To get a player to sign a deal like that the bidding team needs to sweeten the pot and that's always in the union's best interest. Look at Hutchinson last year..and look at the floor of the market for the top 3 guards it established this year in the UFA market..
  4. So they could write in something like if God and the Chosen QB don't play on your team, the whole contract is guaranteed..just hypothetically in this case..
  5. Plus the Pats have 8 picks this year including 2 number 1's...their second is like a throw away. Getting Welker for an end of round second pick--a 58th pick or so..I'll do that deal anytime.
  6. In Mark Gaughan's article on the home page headlined by the Dockery signing--there is a blurb that the Bills are still negotiating with both Kiwaukee and Anthony Thomas hoping for a return of both. Gaughan speculates that the Bills, if both Thomas's are signed, will probably do one more--non-blockbuster deal in Free Agency. Marv and Coach Jauron really set two priorities--the OL and getting better against the run...we need to start working on priority number 2. Look for a DT or LB to be the remaining Free Agent. Youboty--get ready to rock....you are going to be needed.
  7. and a partridge in a pear tree....thanks my hero
  8. I want wonderlic and I want it now...
  9. All the revenue split talk then blam, blam, blam--get that offensive line done in a day. The foundation for this was set--by signing Peters to a relatively reasonable extension for a LT and having money to spare on the line...very good move..

  11. Hello Drew Rosenhaus--- !@#$ you ... Me thinks that several agents phones are ringing right now from RB clients saying--"Let's visit BUFFALO" Running behind that line--wooohooo
  12. The Amazing Offensive Line Makeover--brought to you by the Buffalo Bills
  13. Thanks. You are my new hero
  14. Not ready to give you kudos for your foresight just yet..especially without seeing the next 3 or 4 months unfold. We had a quarterback take monumental steps in development last year--if he continues that type of skill acceleration, he can actually start to win games for this team like the Jags and Texans games, rather than just not lose them. Build depth on the o-line; improve the middle of the defense; get a replacement on the corner that specializes in cover 2 and we can be competitive... If I was an NFL GM the position where I would prefer to have the most questions is at RB--they are literally a dime a dozen for average ones..and face it -- Willis was average last year....
  15. Great album -- really loved Fleetwood Mac during that time Stevie Nicks had that nasty innocence quality -- but I digress
  16. Whittle Stats http://realfootball365.stats.com/fb/player...637&team=16 Has some problem with false starts--doesn't give up a lot of sacks--the 2004 year starting for the Giants (who had a horrible o-line that year) seems to be an anomaly..would be interested in seeing his playing time in the years in which he did not start a lot of games... Seems like Solid Depth at a Nice Price...thank you for shopping at Wal Mart...on to the bargain aisle at Macy's please
  17. I really do TC... I think we have Kiwaukee Thomas back in the fold and we sign a guard other than Steinbach or Deilman tonight
  18. Fly me away to the dark side of the moon and meet me on the other side...... Shocking news---Bennie Anderson got cut...wow--pick me up off the floor..
  19. Marv's already in bed.....

  21. Spending last season mostly in the Bay Area, I love this guy. He plays with passion and was the only one in Silver and Black on offense that played with any passion. The Raiders had little passing attack..Moss had checked out and Walter and Brooks weren't good...I would be okay with Jordan in a mix of two...
  22. When Jim Leonhard got playing time last year -- I think they saw what they wanted. Surprised Tutan Reyes is not on this list.
  23. Ellison at MLB would be like feeding the Christians to the Lions. I think Crowell would be better....either one needs more run-stopping DT on the roster than we currently possess.
  24. 22 reps in the bench--Chris Brown was disappointed...wonder how many times Chris can throw up 225... PATRICK WILLIS A BIT DISAPPOINTING: Willis' bench press reps of 22 were a bit surprising. I'm going to look up his arm length which scouts do take into consideration when they're long. It's harder to keep putting that weight up when you're arms are longer. I thought he's at least get 24 or 25. Shouldn't hurt him too much though. ---
