11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread
BillsFan130 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's crazy to me that some people are saying Josh played a bad, or even "just" a good game . If it wasn't for Coleman popping up an INT that would have been a TD, and the lamest hold call on Torrence I've ever seen, Josh has 5 touchdowns with 0 INTs lol. He was amazing once again yesterday -
I mean, we are both right. The gap integrity was bad and to your point the bills d line sucked. But to my point, when you're in nickel with 6-7 man boxes all game and Miami loves to play 21 personnel with Ingold, you're automatically at a major disadvantage when it comes to stopping the run
-
I'm not denying the execution was crap and plays weren't there to be made as you can say that about every single game But when you sit back in 2 deep safety all game, what do you think is gonna happen? Miami is gonna run it down their throats and control the game Which is what happened and Taron Johnson even said they were basically conceding the run
-
Making adjustments against bad offences like Tennessee or Houston without Nico Collins/ Mixon is different than against good offences like Miami and Baltimore though If you're just gonna sit back and play cover 2 all game long which they have, they'll continue to get thrashed against good QBs
-
Except for Nathan Peterman..

I think you're spot on here. We are hyper focused on Josh as we are bills fans. But every single great QB has a few bad throws every game

I think they did get charged for it.- but interesting you bring that up as I saw some dolphin fans complaining of the same thing that that should have been their 2nd timeout I think that was the 1st half though when Josh used one, but could be wrong -
And a 5th one being wiped out by Coleman dropping a easy TD lol
-
Ya I think this was the game McDaniel finally learned from his past mistakes against McDermott . Kind of reminds of that 2021 patriots game in New England when belichick dared Josh to be patient all game long, and he was and Just torched them. It seemed like McDermott /Babich kept the same game plan for the most part and were betting on McDaniel being impatient at some point, but this time he was patient and just took what was there all game long
-
You wouldn't have tried to mix in more run blitzes on 1st down? For the most part I'm good with keeping everything in front of you against Miami. But I would have guessed run on some 1st downs and try to get them behind the sticks, especially after the 1st half when Miami showed they were committed to running
-
Yep. I would rather play aggressive and give up a 50 yard TD opposed to getting gashed for 8 yard runs all game long that keeps Josh on the sideline
-
Ya that's exactly it. I just wish the bills were a little more aggressive on 1st down with their run blitzes as it was so obvious Miami was gonna run

That challenge was bizarre. What's the point of hiring John parry if he's gonna give McDermott the green light to challenge that -
Ya sorry I meant on 1st downs- like on obvious run downs they should mix in more run blitzes to get them in 2nd and longs Hard to play defence when it's 2nd and 3 every time
-
They dared Miami to run/do short passes and execute long drives all game long. And Miami did. They need to mix in more run blitzes and pressures, because in my opinion it's way too passive and predictable

Week 9, Fish v. Bills, GAME BALLS!
BillsFan130 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. Tua is a pretty damn good QB Does he have flaws? Yes. Is he a top 7 QB? No. But they are literally the worst offence in the league without him and with him they are top 10 -

Haha let's be honest, Josh is the one who owns Miami. McDermott has had some good game plans to slow down Miami's offence I'll give him that , but not today as McDaniel schooled him. Got bailed out by Josh and Bass -

Hahah exactly what I said in the pre game thread. Harlin is noticeably a dolphins fan -
Jordan Poyer needs to be suspended

the injury can't stop the clock. If the injury didn't happen, clock would be running. So think of it that way. If it's under 2 minutes, then it's a timeout. (As I'm sure you know) -

Is McDermott ever gonna adjust or just keep playing 2 safeties 70 yards deep? -

But even if they get beat for a 50 yard TD the odd time who cares? Tip your hat. I would much rather give up the odd big play opposed to getting gashed with 7 yard runs all game long keeping your superstar QB on the sideline -

Its true but it's also a numbers game. Bills constantly need it 6-7 guys in the box when Miami is in 21 personnel. Bills defence has to bring more guys to the box
