  1. No team plays close to 80 percent man though. 46 percent is very heavy in the NFL. Only 3 teams in the nfl played a higher percentage than that in the regular season . So going to one of the most zone heavy teams, to a top 4 man Team in a playoff game, is a very big change. Point being: Andy was ready for it the 2nd time around and called man beaters all day long. (Including the final play that iced it)
  2. So you don't think Andy was more prepared for more man in the playoff game compared to the regular season game? Part of The original post was something along the lines of the bills being a good regular season defence, but struggles in the playoffs. My point was I think the bills caught Andy off guard by mixing in more man in the regular season .(in which it worked) And he predicted the bills were gonna go more man heavy in the playoffs and was game planning more for it. (Unlike the regular season) You disagree with that?
  3. I'm not disputing that. I'm just stating a fact that bills ran a lot more man coverage in the 1st regular season game- Andy was ready for it in the playoffs, and made the necessary adjustments
  4. I think we like to pick talent OR coaching to the reason why we can't get over the hump. In reality to me it's both. The bills front 4 doesn't disrupt enough in the playoffs. But at the same time I think part of the reason we do well in the regular season and flame out in the playoffs on defence, is because of adjustments. Bills played a high percentage of man the first time they played the chiefs. Which I think caught Andy off guard a bit as usually they play zone. The Bills continued to play man a lot in the playoffs- Andy was ready for it and dialled up man beaters all game long
  5. You are not going to give the Bills defence credit for the end of half kneel down? It was great scheme and execution all around..
  6. In my opinion by far the biggest difference between the bills and chiefs is Chris Jones. (Outside of coaching) You put Chris Jones on the Bills and ed oliver on the chiefs this past game, and the Bills probably win And tying it back to the thread now- This is why the Bills got to do what it takes to get a Maxx crosby or Hendrickson
  7. He unfortunately just got hired by Indy not too long ago
  8. No worries buddy, I hear you and totally get your stance
  9. Let me also give you a hypothetical scenario: let's say each team got 7 drives. KC on the 7 drives got 5 TDS and 2 FGs . So 41 points Bills on the first 6 drives got 5 TDs and a FG. So 38 points. But on the 7th drive, they didn't get any points and ended up losing. Who you blaming more: The offence or defence?
  10. I understand that- But the only reason they had a chance to win at the end was because they engineered 4 TDs and a FG against an elite defence , on the road. Which is extremely challenging to do against a Spags defence The last team to do that in KC in a playoff game, were the bills in the 13 seconds game. That's how tough/rare it is
  11. Lol where in my post did you see me say: "I want Bobby Babich fired".. ? I listed a few stats that showed his defence had a poor year, and opened a discussion whether there is a chance he might get fired before or during the 2025 season. With all due respect, not sure why that is so irritiating to you as never once did I say "fire him"- As it is purely a discussion
  12. That's what a lot of us said about Ken Dorsey as well, just saying .. haha
  13. Im More referring to play calling/game plans. Because the scheme is McDermotts. I think there's blame for execution and for the play calling and it's rarely just one thing
  14. So the bills defence is that bad, that we need to score 30 plus points every playoff game against elite defences? Thats just an unrealistic expectation. Got to win ugly sometimes. Chiefs won the championship game last year 17-10- And to my knowledge, this is the first time they scored 30 in a playoff game in years
  15. Bills offence wasn't perfect, but at the end of the day they scored 29 points on the road against a good defence. That should be enough. Where does the line end- If the bills are Losing 48-45 but they don't score on the last drive of the game, is that still the offences fault? Or does the defence need to make more stops earlier in the game?
  16. I agree. I do think a lot of help is coming. I wouldn't be surprised if the bills first 3 round draft picks (in no particular order) are DE, DT and CB. Almost 100 percent chance they will invest in some mid tier veterans as well
  17. Play calling. Babich calls the plays which of course will have an impact on the results of the defence . It's not like a Matt Nagy situation in KC where Nagy is the OC , but doesn't call the plays
  18. I should have worded it better- i do think it's very realistic he can lose his job before the 2025 season ends. (Like mid way through) But no I don't think he will get fired before the season starts, although I'm not ruling it out Ya this is pretty much where I stand- If they start off slow, could be another Ken Dorsey situation where he's fired after a year and a half
  19. In my opening post: "I'm not trying to make this a Sean McDermott discussion as we all get it's his scheme". About 15 posts in this thread: "it's Sean McDermotts defence!"🤦‍♂️
  20. No disagreement there. I was calling for that after the Rams game
  21. Say what you want about Leslie in the playoffs, as he was a disaster. But in the regular season, he produced 10x better results than Babich has. Babich was lost since week 1 and never found answers, outside of a few games
  22. The offence over performed though. Not the defence
  23. I just think if the bills add in a bunch of defensive help (which I think they will) and if they continue to struggle in the 1st half of the season, then McDermott will start to get impatient. (Kind of like with Dorsey as he only lasted a year and a half) I'm not saying it's all of babichs fault as there are definitely personnel issues- But the results weren't pretty this year and it needs to get better in a hurry
  24. Ya I don't think so either. But I do think he will be on thin ice if the defence sucks the first 4-8 games or so next year
