Yeah, but that was in a dome.
That's partially my point. The kicking conditions today were probably tougher than they looked
Just now, Kelly the Dog said:So you're saying that in an earlier similar situation the coach makes the decision to kick it and the guy kicks it at 56 and it works. So then he has a shorter kick at 53 and he decides AGAINST the kick and it doesn't work and you support that?
Yes. Dome vs. 25 degrees with wind

It's fourth and seven. How are the seven yards for the FG different? There is much better chance of making 53 yard FG with Hauschka than 4th and 7 on offense. Clearly awful call. And also showed by what happened.
House money kicked a 56 yard field goal against ATL when they were up by 3 with a few minutes left. So it's not like mcd doesn't trust Hauschka for long attempts in key situations
He obviously didn't like the odds of hauschka making that field goal today or else he would have sent him out there for sure. Had to be the elements
Im very hard on mcds decisions but I have no problem with him going for that

He's made 12 of the last 13 over 50. The BALL is not cold, they keep them warm. 53 is easily in his range. If over 55 then maybe there is an argument. But there is zero reason to not kick it from 53 there.
I understand your points but I still think it's a 50/50 call in my opinion under the circumstances. The last thing you want to do is give Miami great field position when you are up 2 scores

On both plays the FG was the right choice. I understand the call from the one. The call from the 36 was terrible. Just terrible.
The 4th and 7 call wasn't that bad in my opinion. Tough kicking conditions in the cold and if he misses it, you give it to Miami at the 40. I'm usually hard on mcd but not blaming him for that one

I'm just astonished by the same people who criticized the punt here criticizing that call in this game.
It's hypocrisy at its finest.
I criticized the punt but I also would have taken the 3 points there.
Game awareness because it makes it a 3 score game in the 2nd half.
Where i don't criticize mcd was going for it on 4th and 7 from the 35. They didn't get it but i think it was the right call because they were in no mans land
1 minute ago, Kelly the Dog said:I dunno. He played great last year. He hasn't played hardly at all this year. He played one total play last week against the Colts and it was the game winning TD by Shady.
Lol I know, just making a joke. I have nothing against the guy

That was a terrible play call on fourth down at the two, too. Another reason Groy's mistake bailed us out.
It's true. Thank the lord groy is incompetent or that would have been a big play for Miami

I'm sure that's the coaches' fault somehow.
The first time they snapped it with lots of time remaining it may not be his fault but it's his responsibility to make sure to tell TT to drain the clock. He is the head coach and clock management is his responsibility. TT for sure should have known better, I'm not excusing that
-
Started off ok in the 2nd half but then once they got the ball back up 24 to 6 on their 6 yard line, they played it way too conservative for my liking. Not to say they should be reckless but just throw in a play action here and there
-
He's turned into a very dirty player as well.
did someone bang his wife or something? He looks very angry this year
-
I honestly don't remember that play at all.
i must have drank more than I thought

I wish they(NFL) would do a 16 team league in non NFL cities and let 2 NFL teams share a development franchise.
They could play on Tuesdays and Fridays and have an 8 game season to start off.
My biggest problem with the CFL is quotas.
Let the best players play who cares where they are born? the NHL sure doesn't.
Put the best product on the field possible,if you suck you suck you shouldn't see the field just because your Canadian.
BTW I am Canadian.
Very good point. That is very true

Wait, are we talking about McMahon's sanity or the XFL?
He certainly knows how to run a business and make a few bucks!
Could we be assured of a roster spot for He Hate Me Jr.?
Sanity haha

Umm... The point of '96 was that Bledsoe inherited a crappy team when he was drafted three years prior. It's the very thing you're giving Luck credit for doing.
They're very similar and their comparison is important because we literally acquired Bledsoe after an injury riddled season around the same time in his career that you're talking about getting Luck.
Just one we'll have to agree to disagree sir. All good!

How old are you? You do realize that Bledsoe played in a Super Bowl in 96 right? Your argument about the team talent is ridiculous and makes me think you don't remember that era very well. From Wikipedia:
Under his tenure as starting quarterback, the Patriots ended an eight-season postseason drought, qualified for the playoffs six times, and made one Super Bowl appearance. In his second season with the team, he was named to the 1995 Pro Bowland was the youngest quarterback to appear in the NFL's all-star game at the time.
I'm not talking about 96. I'm talking about 2001 bud.
I'm well aware of Bledsoes career and I think Luck is better.
You are getting a completely off topic from your original point about Luck not being that good a QB.
Like i said, let me know otherwise if you can bring up an argument that Luck hasn't carried the Colts team the last 5 years. Without him they are plain awful. Unless you think 3 and 11 is a respectable record
Destroyed today?
