I understand to a certain degree. But you can’t just sit back all game like he did against the chiefs. If that’s the game plan again, defence will be on the field for 40 minutes tomorrow. No I’m not saying act reckless. But there were No 3rd and short run blitzes, no pressure, no switching things up. Just rushed 4 in a vanilla zone defence all game no matter the down and distance. If he has that game plan again, Bills defence will once again be on the field for 40 minutes and will give up 200 yards rushing even with Seattle’s 3rd string RB.

One comment that really annoyed me from MCD as I heard this a few days ago... After the chiefs game his response to a question about the game was something like: “We were trying to keep it within striking distance”. Translation to me: “We were playing not to get blown out”, essentially. And it was quite evident in that game as the Bills were playing “bend but don’t break” on defence the whole game. I personally hate that mentality and I hope the bills don’t have that same philosophy this week. I fully understand you can’t be reckless and blitz Wilson a ton as he’s going to burn you More than not. But be more aggressive and have the mindset of “dominate “ opposed to, “hoping to keep it close late in the game and have a chance”.

I see what you are saying, but imagine if Arizona stuck to that strategy with Rosen and didn't draft Murray? ( I understand Murray was the 1st pick off the board) Say if Miami has a chance to get Fields as they got tons of draft ammunition and they think he is the guy and aren't completely sold on Tua, I would drat fields if I were them. Washington made the mistake of sticking with Haskins. Sure Chase Young is an elite talent, but I bet you if they have that pick back, they take Herbert now. QB> Any position.

I see what you’re saying. But I think that kind of plays into the bills defensive struggles this year, as I think they try to get too “cute” sometimes by trying to disguise their coverages. It definitely burned them multiple times as T Johnson was one on one with Meyers in the most critical 3rd down of the game and got burned.

Ya this is what I was going to say. Out schemed on the defensive side. Not having Tre following Meyers, playing a soft cover 3 against an offence that has no weapons with the wind whipping around. Bills should have had 8 guys in the box all game, press man coverage, and force cam to beat you consistently with his arm.

I was just trying to make a point that with all the free agents McDermott brought in for HIS defence along with the players him/beane have drafted in the early rounds, they get gashed week in and week out. Not a good look on Mcd. Great play by Zimmer. Taking nothing away from him at all.

Yep well said. As well as Edmunds regressing big time, Milano missing time with injuries, and Murphy just being non existent.

Ya you honestly can’t get much quieter of a performance than Murphy today. Might as well start espenasa. You literally can’t be worse than Murphy.

I really hope The bills come out swinging and play aggressive. Not like the KC game plan where you play a shell and the defence is on the field for two thirds of the game.

Run game. They are going to run for 200 plus against the bills, especially when mostert is back.

I know. But like I mentioned earlier, just the matchup for the bills. SF are one of the best Run teams in the league, and bills are one of the worst at stopping the run.

Ya as well as the travel. Always hard for west coast teams to travel east with the 3 hour time change.
