  1. what an unbelievable post. what ever happened to ice, i'd actually forgotten about him.
  2. i finally found some video clips...unbelievable moves. if you can watch this and seriously say a first and third isn't worth it you don't deserve to post on this board anymore. works w/ real player only: http://www.michael-turner.co.uk/video.htm
  3. yeah, I've been reading it was a swap of their #1's. I wouldn't be surpirsed if the redskins just flat out sent the pick though. I swear one of these years the redskins won't have a single draft pick on either day.
  4. yeah, he's SD's backup to LT...so that's why his carries are low. (i'm informing you of this since you've clearly never seen him play before)
  5. haha. ok, show me one TD he's scored on backups. any one of them. hell, show me any of his carries that were against backups. i hope you're just kidding otherwise that's a really stupid post.
  6. me getting caught up with 6ypc is the same as you getting caught up by Lynch doing it against college defenses. they're both chances. i tend to like the guy that's already NFL adjusted and done nothing but prove he's able.
  7. well, in terms of CB I like Darrelle Revis if he could drop to late round 1. In terms of LB, outside of the big names, I'd just be guessing. haha, you know, it's just with the Bills, you have no idea who they'd take at 12. And whoever it is...about 50% of this board won't be happy. Right now it looks like it could be Lynch, Willis, Posluszny, Okoye, or Hall. or I suppose Turner. I think I'd be happy with any of those except perhaps Posluszny.
  8. yeah, but you're assuming they're going to draft a LB/CB in round 1. If they end up drafting Lynch at 12, would you have rathered they just trade for Turner?
  9. Yes, however - I think this comes down to whether or not the Bills are interested in selecting a RB at #12. If so, then I see no problem trading for Turner. Turner's got the same potential as Lynch/Peterson - except he's averaging 6.0ypc in the NFL over 160 carries. It's as much a risk as a draft pick and he has no wear and tear. If the Bills are not interested in taking a RB at #12 I suppose it's a different story. Generally speaking, I just don't think you get so many rumor leaks without significant conversations taking place. I really think this is going to happen.
  10. Well that's easy. It's because the life of a running back is estimated at 5 years. Michael Turner's essentially got < 1 in terms of carries. His stats: 2004 - 20 carries, 104 yards (5.2 avg) 2005 - 57 carries, 335 yards (5.9 avg) 2006 - 80 carries, 502 yards (6.3 avg) Career - 157 carries, 941 yards (6.0 avg) We could certainly debate if those numbers are inflated from LT or not. People said that about Larry Johnson when he was still spelling Priest Holmes, but he's held his own. Let's exclude that from the arguement though. In any event, you mentioned running backs that only garnered a 2nd round pick or worse. It's all about carries though. The lower the carries, the higher the value. Look at the value drop off for the RBs you mentioned at the time of the trade (or attempt of): Edgerrin James - 7 years, 2,200 carries (4.1 avg) (could not get a desired 2nd round pick; signed as FA w/ arizona) Shaun Alexander - 6 years, 1717 carries (4.5 avg) (could not get desired 2nd round pick; resigned w/ seattle) Thomas Jones - 7 years, 1,349 carries (4.0 avg) (swapped second round picks w/ jets) Travis Henry (TEN) - 7 years, 1321 carries (4.1 avg) (released from titans) Travis Henry (BUF) - 4 years, 963 carries (4.0 avg) (traded to TEN for 3rd round pick, 2006) Willis McGahee - 4 years, 868 carries (3.9 avg) (traded to ravens for 3rd, 7th in 2007; 3rd round 2008) It's hard to say what the value is for a guy that's given interested teams a preview at the NFL level w/o significant wear and tear. It's funny, people put so much value into a first round pick- but 50% of the time the guy's not even on the team a few years later. Our first rounders since 2000: erik flowers (cut) mike williams (cut) nate clements (FA departure) willis mcgahee (traded) lee evans (active) jp losman (active) (33% cut; 66% no longer on team) If the Bills really believe Turner's a superstar, I guess you trade for him. I think if the Bills can manage to swap first rounders w/ san diego and send a 3rd...they should do it. If they have to send the first rounder straight up it won't be the end of the world.
  11. man that's funny. that was not the intent.
  12. You know what's strange is there are obvious reasons we might be a destination for Briggs - we need a player at the position; there are Jauron connections - but I haven't heard any substantial rumors at all. If there was any interest, I don't think they'd have been able to keep it this quiet. I don't think he's on the radar.
  13. you know what...i think you're wrong. i think you better get ready for a turner for 1st round trade. i think that'll be the extent of a trade...no second pick. ug. if anything i'm hoping for swapping first round picks.
  14. I really thought the Michael Turner trade was more fantasy than reality...but I'm starting to hear about it more and more. There are definitely discussions going on...of course whether or not they can work out a deal remains to be seen. But the real reason for this new thread - it seems there are a lot of questions regarding the relationship of AJ Smith to Ralph, Marv, etc. It reminded me of an article I read last year when Marv was hired. I'd not been able to locate it - it seems D&C removed it from their site. However, I finally found it on a Charger's web site. Give it a read, if nothing else I think it shows the past relationships help rather than hinder trade possibilities: http://forums.chargers.com/archive/index.php/t-36624.html
  15. ha. seriously. sounds like you're taking a class on journalism. don't overthink this. it's a message board. people write about currnt events. this is one of them. there's not much going on. trash willis. it's fine. there's no brilliant willis pr machine watching saying 'yes! yes! it's all going exactly as i planned! haha!' no. he's a child. he's a topic. that's it. it all goes away in a month if people post about him or not. he then makes headlines on the field. the idea of telling people to fear posting because of they might be aiding mcgahee is hilarious. relax. it'll be fine.
  16. unforuntately that's not what they found to be the general opinion. theismann simply did not know how to share the spotlight. jaws in his place will allow the booth to be more fun and free flowing. as occurs on pti. theismann wasn't particularly open to having his opinions questioned. there wasn't a whole lot of poking fun with theismann. tk and theismann didnt dislike each other, but there wasn't much more to them then that. tk and jaws...they very much like each other and get along very well on and off camera. as does tirico. the idea is to have a booth with three guys that will have fun with each other. i think it will work well.
  17. sooo um. did they get him on or not? i don't care what the colts did either, i just am curious if they did it. anybody?
  18. I don't know what I said that's incorrect. What are you saying I'm incorrect about? Believe me, I know the situation well. WRC informed michael the show budget would be (X) and to get to the figure 75% of his staff would need to be cut. He decided to walk away rather than accept those conditions.
  19. that's not exactly what happened. NBC didn't come out and say you must fire your wife. Basically, it was an expensive show that NBC didn't want to pay for anymore. They had a price they were willing to pay for the show and it was drastically lower. To get to the number he'd have to cut 70% of his 22 person staff. Instead of doing so he just decided to call it quits.
  20. walrus like shape and look...hilarious. I don't know about jaworski but theismann departing has been rumored for awhile.
  21. he was certainly a pioneer in sports television...he's been doing this for 27 years. That being said, I don't think anybody's going to miss him. He's not the easiest guy to work with.
  22. I'm actually curious to see if this comes back to haunt him in the future. There are many levels on which this could happen. He could very well play again on a team with one of these Buffalo teammates he's trashed. Second, Baltimore isn't Miami either - does he realize this? Third, what happens if Baltimore doesn't work out? He's just trashed small cities all over the country... silly McGahee. The NFL is such a small world, the odds of his words coming back to haunt him seem pretty high to me. I can't remember many instances of a player switching teams and then immediately trashing the fans, teammates, and actual city he just left.
  23. yes, I know - I'm not asking if anyone else reads that paper. Has that information been reported from any other source is my question.
  24. In the Buffalo News this morning they say Dillon doesn't want to come to Buffalo because he doesn't think they'll be a contender. (http://www.buffalonews.com/213/story/30235.html) First, good if it means I don't have to see him in a Bills uniform next year. I don't care what he says. But I'm more interested in if that information accurate. I haven't seen him visit anyone else. If he wanted to be on a 'contender' he could have just stayed in New England. Has anyone seen or heard this reported elsewhere?
