  1. Yes, it would make a major statement, but what kind of terrorism are you thinking? A bomb in the parking lot? one planted in the stadium?? suicide bomber?? I just can't see a guy with a trench coat getting anywhere near the stadium... I could see someone with a car full of explosives or something, but nothing actually in the stadium. But as i said before, i don't expect anything to happen, but if it does, we'd all be dead anyways, so who cares. I live my life to its fullest, without the fear of terrorism. If they want to do soemthing, more power to them, but it won't stop me from going to the game to chear on the bills.
  2. I won't make fun of you. It's a valid concern for some. Personally, i believe two things. First, the country is safer from terrorists since 9/11, and second, if something WERE to happen, i'd be dead anyways so who cares. With that being said, i see almost zero chance of anything happening at nfl games on 9/11. Airspace is safe, security will be tigher for people entering the stadium, and quite frankly, its buffalo. If terrorists were going to do something, they'd do it in a huge city, like east rutherford or washington.

  4. Thanks all... I ended up with madden 2006 and a leaf blower, so all is well!
  5. that's a pretty incredible story about favre.
  6. I've learned guitar (for the past year), from guitar for dummies... I have seen bass for dummies. The GFD book is pretty decent, from what i've seen at the bookstore and stuff. If he's young, get him a lesson or three... It will be worth the investment over a do it yourself book.
  7. that was a good roast. I have a question... IS the comedy central roast the same as the friars club roast?? I've seen both on comedy central, but i can't remember if they're one in the same, or different events entirely.
  8. my perfect season would be the bills winning the denver game to clinch the division, but they have to go to indy for the AFC championship. Naturally, its a manning lovefest and the bills get no respect. They stage a 21 point come fgrom behind 4th quarter victory, go to the super bowl, and destroy whoever they played like 63-0. That would be perfect. Then ralph gets the trophy and tells everyone to kiss his old ass, this one's for jim, bruce, thurman, and marv. Then the bills buy all bills fans worldwide a lifetime supply of labatt blue and strippers.
  9. bump. JK did show up. After a 2 hour rain delay (which now rates below watching nascar on my scale of least enjoyable things to pass the time). He pointed to the sky and said "this one's for hunter", then gave the command. I couldn't stomach watching through the race to see if he made it to the booth to discuss, but it was nice to see. Beforehand, the driver for kelly's team gave some great words about the family, hunter, and hunter's hope. made me choke up.
  10. frez, first of all, you're looking on espn for sports highlights. That's like turing on mtv to watch the latest wham video. Not going to happen! I will be watching tomorrow night when they do the New York night. That's the night they overlook Ralph wilson stadium, the aud, and hsbc to profile Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Should be a grand old time. On a side note, tune into the nfl network's "no huddle". It shows live coverage of all preseason games, live, with realtime scores for all games on a PTI style sidebar. I got to see the jp-to-evans TD drive, the blocked punt, and a missed indy field goal. Also, i got to see vick get shown what a "gamer" he was! booya! If you don't have nfl network, there's your excuse to get directv.
  11. Willis McGahee has pig ligaments replacing his god given tendons, and QUITE FRANKLY, that's all he ever really needed.
  12. I don't know, but his boat is full of dinner after fishing with that bait.
  13. yes it was nice...
  14. it would have been the same result, at best. Flutie doesn't play special teams, and RJ put together one of the most forgotten but toughest, guttiest performances ever. That dude was beaten down (insert homoerotic joke here) by the titans and he still was able to drive down for the winning field goal. But, neither doug flutie nor rob johnson played special teams that day, so i think your question is moot.. Also, it was 5 years ago, so its pretty moot now too... Now for a real question... What would have become of bill parcells had mark kelso been able to tackle??
  15. i've touched the stanley cup with the white gloves and everything at the sabres carnival about 10 years ago... i was working it for the ymca. highlight of my life. you have to go to the HHOF and see it. it sounds cliche, but you literally can feel the power, energy, and history by just seeing it. The only thing i can relate it to is going to the national archives in DC and seeing the declaration of independence and constitution.
  16. i would like to get the chance to hear jim talk about hunter's hope today before the busch nascar race today. I've tivo'd the race on nbc, and something called "nascar live" on speed channel before the race. My question is to nascar fans, as i'm definitely NOT (i'm eurotrash. i watch f1). Is that show on speed the "official" pre-race show, or is there something different? there's nothing on the guide on tnt or nbc before 2pm, so i assume that the thing on speed is the only one. That being said, i'm really interested to hear what kelly has to say, as making a public appearance at a nascar race right after your kid's funeral is a touchy subject to say the least.
  17. as i said before, we can all be thanking our lucky stars that it wasn't an hip, leg, knee, ankle or foot injury. Roscoe can deal with a hand injury.
  18. annoying car dealer On a side note, anyone in the raleigh/durham/fayetteville viewing area will understand that i will never buy a car from crossroads ford and their undisputed price leader tom smith. This is a guy who i'd love to run over with an f-350 dually, pulling a 5th wheel.
  19. The eagles got him on the cheap, signed him to a long term deal, and knowingly screwed over TO. TO didn't have to sign the contract. His agent could have told him that the contract was stupid. I don't want to hear any crap about the "at will" contracts of nfl players. TO knew this, knew he could have held out for a mega 3 year deal, but he didn't. He signed the contract that's screwing him over. Yeah the eagles knew they were lowballing him, but in all honesty, they probably did it knowing that TO was a moron and his agent was too. TO should have done the smart thing and quietly asked for a restructure, played out this year, and waited to get cut after this year. He didn't take the high ground, so now everything that comes out of his mouth buries him more. I'm sure that the eagles would have at least heard out his plea better if he had kept his fat mouth shut. I know the eagles are a cheap a$$ team, but he still could have played his contract out this year and asked for a release. His value only would have gone up. The eagles won't trade him, its very apparent that he won't play for them, so now he's snakebitten. Someone mentioned yesterday of the analogy of the eagles signing to to that contract was like playing a retard in chess, and helping him along just enough to get a halfway decent game out of him. I for one hope that he stays with the eagles all the way up to at least september 11th... This strung out comedy will help me get through the preseason right up till the bills start playing.
  20. yeah, that waiver should at least get into the hall... They can put it between steve christie's shoe and bob griese's glasses.
  21. when barry quit, he was the #2 career rusher... TO still needs to put about 5 years of stats on his belt and grow up... If he puts up huge numbers to finish his career, and he grows up, he might even be a first ballot guy. He'll get in, but if he doesn't shape up, he'll be "punished" by missing a few ballots.
  22. since i hate numbers, maybe someone can do some research on the top 5 wrs in the league vs. what owens makes now. i thought he was among that group, but i could be wrong.
  23. good job my friend
