From what i understand, september-early november is the worst part of the season. Correct me if i'm wrong, but hurricanes form when there's a difference between atmospheric temperatures and water temperatures. There's a greater difference in the beginning of fall than in the summer, so i think that the best time to get a bad hurricane is coming up. It is entirely possible that another storm could hit new orleans.

I think that a filled up superdome was a pretty damn good start for these refugees after the abandon ship command was given. This rescue effort will take time, but the survivors knowingly or unknowingly took this risk and they're paying dearly. This is very bad, don't get me wrong, but they'll be saved in due time. It's pretty piss poor that the mayor of NO is tweaking, the FEMA people don't have answers to CNN questioning, and senators are openly calling to wipe new orleans off the map, but this is what happens when Revelations goes down in louisiana. I just hope that the cops that are defending their stations like the alamo are given a hefty christmas bonus and enrolled in the jelly of the month club, cause they deserve it. That's a tough question... She could stay in your family bubble, guarentee her safety and that of your family, but be unfufilled, or she could feel like she made a difference at a cost to the safety of herself and your family unit. If it were me who was asked to go, i'd go. If it were my wife, i'd tell her to do what she had to do and i'd support her either way. It is going to be up to her to make this choice, but i think we all know the "right" thing to do here.

$2.99 is the cheapest gas around here. Luckily its almost across the street from my house. There were rumors today about the gas stations closing, so there was a HUGE line on my way to college. On the way back, i topped off my tank and filled up my two 5-gallon gas tanks at $3.19 for super unleaded... 3 of the 5 pumps were closed when i got there, so who knows about tomorrow, but i'm good for tonight. The other stations in town range anywhere from $3.01-$3.29 for reg. unleaded. By the way, the gas station in question is the kangaroo station at the corner of rockfish and camden in hope mills, nc (i know there's a few from fayetteville here, so go by TONIGHT or TOMORROW at 6am)
