You shouldn't be ashamed to come out and say you know nothing about firearms. Everybody has knowledge gaps of some sort.

I don't think anybody is really proposing compulsory carry for teachers. Simply allowing them the option may help. Odds are good that you will find a small number of qualified individuals who are willing to carry. I went to a pretty small high school (avg graduating class around 90) and two teachers were combat veterans, and my guidance counselor was a former sheriff's deputy. These attackers know that schools today are soft targets. Putting a little doubt in their mind about that could move the needle a bit.

I was away from home one summer and my roommate had to use a gun to repel a hammer wielding burglar. Granted, he wasn't carrying a gun, but I don't think any of us is getting in line to go toe to toe unarmed against someone with armed with hammer.

I was just thinking about this, but I think they would have sniffed around everywhere at Cuse when the whole Fab Melo thing went down. I feel like if there was something there, we would already know about it.

It could travel through the car itself. So if there was a microphone mounted to the car, it might pick up some muffled noise from the speakers. It doesnt really matter though, because with the live video feed, the batteries in the car were only expected to last about 12 hours.

I have no doubt SLS will beat BFR off the pad, but it's being built using tech thats already obsolete. Government spaceflight at it's finest. The Falcon 9, on the other hand, was improved on the fly, and its current iteration is as powerful as the Falcon Heavy was first intended to be. It's the exact opposite of what's going on over at NASA/ULA.
