  1. What in hell are you talking about? Ruth played against half the talented players and batted against the same pitcher for 9 innings nearly every game. We have NO idea how he would have fared in the Negro league, as far as I can tell. If you put him in a list of all players you HAVE to compare him to today's players, or why bother making the list?
  2. More appropriate for a sausage patty, IMO.
  3. At their peak, on any team, in any era, Young would beat out Montana for the starting job, if they started at an equal level. Young had skills, and smarts, Montana could only dream of. And Montana was pretty damn good.
  4. Also, while not directly pertinent to the list: Let's not forget that it was well known that Ruth drank alcohol during Prohibition. Really not different than players today smoking pot, doing cocaine, etc. I wonder if Daryl Strawberry wonders why he didn't feel that same love Ruth felt when he was breaking the law.
  5. Level of competition, for one. Ruth played when blacks played in the Negro league. Arguably he never faced some the best baseball players of his age. Also, I believe ground rule doubles counted as home runs when Ruth played. Ruth didn't bat against an assortment of fresh relief pitchers. Need any more reasons why SOME people might thing he wasn't the best player ever?
  6. Pork for dinner! Why wasn't that pig marinating?
  7. Bruce should be #5. Steve Young was better than Montana.
  8. I am. How am I supposed to go to sleep not knowing the ending to this story?
  9. Wow! They SUCK!
  10. She wouldn't date you. She's a STAR!
  11. Yes, nothing like goes with a sausage like a $1,200-$1,500 bottle of wine.
  12. Yes, I'm sure because she is cute she is perfect. So perfect, in fact, she would dump her boyfriend publicly after getting some notoriety, What a great gal!
  13. Are you nuts?
  14. Meh. It is what it is.
  15. Well, couldn't they put that on the JumboTron without signing the drama queen?
  16. Nerd
  17. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wishniak Yes, I'm a WOP. But I've had plenty of Polish girlfriends. Does that count?
  18. If nobody watched the games, the advertising would be cheap. It costs a LOT to advertise in an NFL game. Even more to be a sponsor with your brand all over the broadcasts, site, etc. I also like watching the games without directly paying for them, and I am a big fan. I'm smart enough to know it isn't free. Who do you think pays the tab for the NFL? If the owners and player make millions, where does than money come from? My point is, if you are a fan pissed off about contracts you shouldn't be mad at the players (or even the owners). They are getting paid and you are paying the bill. Don't like it? Stop buying tickets, getting the NFL ticket and watching the games. If you continue to pay the bill, they will continue to take your money. Me? I'm a fan and don't mind. But you don't see me grousing over the $$ given to player contracts, players breaking their contracts, etc.
  19. BTW, I keep reading that Revis is the best CB in football. I don't think he is. Asomugha is the best CB in football. Revis is way better than I expected him to be based on his college performance. He is VERY opportunistic (which is nice). But he had ONE great year. Based on the replays I see over and over, it looks like a chunk of his big plays came on bad throws, where he was NOT in the best position had the throw been decent. I'm not suggesting Revis isn't good. He is VERY good, but he isn't as good as Asomugha. I have a hunch he might even be exposed over the next couple of years.
  20. The Bills should wait for the Pats* to cut Aiken. They should never have let that stud go! He's been VERY productive for the Pats*.
  21. I need to know the ending. I am riveted to this tale.
  22. As much as I hate to defend this guy, I think there is a chance he is/was a fine fellow that made one public screw up. He did look like he was trying to catch the ball, in a matador OLE! fashion. Obviously he should have protected his GF from the ball and didn't. I'm thinking he might be the kind of guy that would make sure that never happened again...or not, who knows? If you see the interview after it happened he and the girl took it in good humor. He knows he screwed up and so does she, but she doesn't seem all that mad about it. 24 hours later, with people calling, friends talking to her, etc, all of a sudden her s#it doesn't stink and her BF is a douche. I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm saying there's a chance she might be the one dumping what was a good relationship over a fluke, and an opportunity.
  23. Here's the thing. Whitner is a very good pass defender for a safety. In fact he is so good the Bills used him as a nickel corner and he rarely was thrown on. You have completely misread Whitner's strengths and weaknesses.
  24. THIS is why I LOVE The Wall! Very well done, boys.
