But the question remains, will it be a playoff game this year? -

So, do you see dirty play from the Bills? Been a whole season? -

I don't think blaming Schwartz for Suh's behavior is a reasonable assumption. He wasn't the DC and most of the Lions defenders aren't scumbags. With that said, he has brought toughness and a willingness to hit. I love that. I actually didn't mind the roughness penalty Robey took today. -
Report: Marrone has 3-day out clause due to new ownership
The Dean replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh, I don't disagree he is staying (unless he get canned, which I don't foresee). But let's not pretend the guy couldn't get another very good job if he chose to leave. The only way I think Marrone leaves (and one of the only ways I see him getting fired) is he he is adamant about not changing position coaches. I believe this is what led to Wade's departure--or so the story goes. Sometime guys actually make decisions that aren't the best monetary option. I have made several in my career. -

Nothing? Took a 6-10 team and turned them into a 9-7 team in two years---without a real QB. That's nothing? -
It explains the supply and demand issue, but it does nothing to explain why Whaley will overpay for a QB. Whaley did not make the RJ trade.

I don't think the drugs would have made it to the patient if Hunter was manning the desk.

The Dean replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't say he'd find one tomorrow. But within a year, I have no doubt he'd find a good HC job (college or pro) that paid him near, or more, that what he makes now. He took a 6-10 Bills team and in his second year turned them into a 9 win team. In Syracuse he took a bumbling loosing squad and took them to two bowl games. There will be a pretty good job for him, whether or not you like him. -
And I think just about any price for Mallet would be too much. I might be proven wrong in this, but I don't see it. BTW, the Pats fans who visit the same bar as I, tend to agree. They saw nothing from him. If the Bills go after a QB in FA it should be a QB with real NFL experience. Not a guy who has played a game or two (IMO, of course).

Did "shiv the mofo" make the list?

Cracked? I remember that magazine. But I have to say, this guy is a true friend. Smuggling crack to a buddy in the hospital. Not many people who will do that for you. Most crack heads HATE to share the stuff.

Believe it or not, there are a few other teams as desperate (or even more so) than the Bills for QB help. There is quite the market for QBs.

Tom will be thrilled. He loves those buggers. As an aside, that Asian woman with the cell phone is pretty cute, dontcha think?

I think you are on to something. The Bills should trade Watts and Megatron for a QB. Brilliant! You are forgetting Whaley started 2013 with three rookies (OK Thad wasn't' a rookie) at QB and 2014 with the same QBs as 2014. The Bills won 9 games this year. Why would you, or anyone, assume Whaley is willing to make a bad deal for a QB now?

Branch Bears no ill will toward the Bills

Second cousins, twice removed. -
Spiller is a FA and can't be traded. Really dude. You need that explained to you?
-
I'm with you. Whaley has shown no lack of balls. That won't be the issue, IMO. But I doubt he takes a flyer on a guy who isn't a good bet to be an improvement. I'd be shocked if he went after a guy like Cutler, though. He doesn't know this. He's just posting random stuff.

I understand where you are coming from. Same conversation I had with a couple Bills fans during the game today. I think (more like I hope) the Bills make him an offer that is a bit above his actual worth (on the field) to them, as his value to the team is more than his playing time. And because he isn't an every down LB, perhaps his offers from other teams won't be as outrageous as they would be if he were an every down LB. I characterized the possibility of re-signing him as a "relative long shot". But after reading that article about how much he like playing here, I'm hoping that helps sway the odds a bit. I know not to put too much stock in quotes from players (particularly after a win like this), but it gives me a bit more hope. I don't expect any player to give huge hometown discounts. But some guys actually care a bit about the atmosphere of their team. We probably aren't far apart on what we believe. But I have to think there is a chance to re-sign him I have to. Don't take that away from me. -
It was a joke, fer Christ's sake! Well it would have been had you laughed.
-
And you are right to have those doubts, I think. And going into next season with no options other than Orton and EJ would be a HUGE mistake, IMO. But, for the sake of next year, I really hope EJ wins the gig. It's hard for me to imagine a better scenario. That is, unless the Bills pull off some unlikely pick up this offseason.

Mike Wallace benched for attitude problem

WOW. IF all that is true (I don't believe everything that is tweeted), I have to agree. The Steelers may have made a good decision when they let him go. -

Well, I have no inside info on Spikes. But I thought he did better this year in coverage (in the few situations he actually was involved) that I had expected. He really helped the team in the run game, no question. I hope the Bills make him a respectable offer, but I'm not sure they can afford to keep him since they are fairly deep at LB (assuming Kiko returns). But since he really seems to like it here, and playing fewer snaps extends his football life, I would never characterize his chances of returning at zero. And by the way, if you bet on it it's a bet you could never win. If he returns you lose. But if he doesn't, you still don't know there was no chance. I suspect the circumstances will lead him elsewhere. But I think, if the offers are close, he might return. I must have missed your predictions. -
We had this discussion while watching the game today. Why did Spiller bother to come back this year? He is nowhere near 100%. He certainly isn't doing his FA value any good by playing injured, and actually risks further injury? Because he is a football player, that's why. I don't think Spiller lacks heart. He definitely isn't a natural blocker or power back, but has tried to get better at both. He's had plenty of opportunities to complain about his role, but hasn't done so---ever as far as I can remember. He may not be back, and at the salary he may get in FA it may not be the best decision for the Bills to bring him back. But don't tell me the guy doesn't have heart.
